Surprise!

Oh My Gosh!!!!  Has it really been since April since I have posted?  That doesn't seem possible!  But I guess it is.

We have been so busy, with the business, with the yard, with the house.  And we've even been busy with taking some time for ourselves, and enjoying the good weather and heading out camping when we can.  Or going on little day trips.  So we have been living life.

I have been stitching too.  So sorry Linda!!!  You must think that I have abandoned you in our SAL.  It's not every Sunday that I get a chance to stitch, but when I do it's not very progressive so there wasn't much to show.  But yesterday I managed to stitch for the better part of the day on Cornwall Cottage so I thought I should post an update.  I'm about to turn a corner here on it soon in the next couple of weeks.

I also needed a little instant gratification a while back and stitched up a LHN - Season's Greetings.  Which will be made into a ornament at some point this year. Mind you even this I finished a while ago and I didn't post it.

We have decided that we are going to make a little long weekend for ourselves this coming weekend, and leave on Thursday after work to go camping.  The temps are going to be up high, so the best place for us to be at that time is beside a lake, fishing, reading, relaxing...and maybe stitching.  But I find that when I'm camping I like to read.  I have been on a reading kick for the last couple of months...perhaps that's why my stitching is kind of taking a backseat.  But that seems to happen to me every summer.  I love sitting out on the patio with a tall cool glass of something and reading.  It's one of my favorite summer pastimes.

Hope everyone is well!

Welcome Mary Margaret...

Or at least what little there is of her!  I had planned a full day of stitching from morning until night yesterday.  But alas, it was not to be.  Saturday we were out in the yard, raking and pulling out everything out of the flower beds, cleaning out the pots and containers.  Which is all well and good, and it all looks wonderful! (I love the fall clean up!) Unfortunately, regardless of the allergy pill that I had taken on Saturday.  I woke up on Sunday morning with a huge headache from sinus pressure, with my face and eyes all swollen. booo hooo!  So after a couple of hours of struggling to get rid of the headache.  I just ended up taking another allergy pill and laid back down and slept until 4 in the afternoon.  I NEVER do that!  But I did wake up feeling better.  So it helped.  Still a little swollen around the eyes today, but at least I don't look like I got attacked by a swarm of bees anymore.  So this is what I managed on Mary Margaret last night for a couple of hours.  She is going to be so much fun to stitch! YEAH!

I also had a little ornie finish from last week. I thought this turned out pretty.  I don't know what fabric this is, or what shade it is.  I know that's it's 28ct but I don't know anything else, it was in the scrap drawer, but it was perfect for this piece :)

Fresh Fallen Snow by Little House Needleworks - from 2011 JCS Ornie issue

I am going to be starting a new project this week as well.  First I am part way through another ornie and then I'm starting.  I have everything ready to go, so it's just a matter of starting it.  I'm excited about that piece too :)

Another smile from Lulu!

Red House finished

This is kind of a hit and run posting that I'm doing here.  I'm tired and want to go to bed, but I had to post my finish!  wooo hooo.  Another of LHN"s ornie's.  I love how Diane does her trees.  I think it's one of my favorite things about her designs.

Red House in Winter by LIttle House Needleworks - 25 ct lubana 1 over 1

Kati and I connected this week and she's recieved her fabric as well, so we have decided that we will be starting our Sunday SAL again next Sunday.  I'm so excited.  I've been drolling over the chart now for 2 months, and now we can start them!  YEAH

So tonight, I kitted up my new project.  I'm going to be starting The Song They Sang by Carriage House Samplings.   Another one that I have unexplicably fallen in love with.

Easter's coming!

I love Easter,  I love Easter almost as much as I love Christmas, I just don't decorate for it...however...next year I might have an Easter tree!  LOL I love the food and the baking and the CHOCOLATES!!!  Has anyone tried these new Aero Eggs? Oh my WORD!!!!  This was a brilliant invention!  And only 120 calories!  Brilliant I say, just brilliant.

And now because it's Easter, let me post a picture of another tiny Christmas ornie...or one that will be an ornie.  LOL  (it doesn't really have anything to do with Easter, I'm just stressing the irony)

LHN - Snowy Pines, stitched on Platinum 28 ct Luganan, over 1

Still waiting for my charts and fabbie, on Molly. ARGH, I am not a patient waiter AT ALL!   But I will wait some more.  So today I think that I am going to start BOAF's Bitter Flower Sampler.  I love this design, so now I'm going to do it for my future sampler wall.

A tiny finish

Just thought I'd post this while I was sitting here reading blogs, I thought it would probably be nice if I posted more than once a week too.  I wish my life was interesting enough to write every day...but alas....

I did finish my LHN ornament He's a Flake.  I really liked stitching this one.  Although I am still of the opinion that stitching over 1 is tedious, but it makes for a pretty little ornament.  People are going to have to look at this year's ornaments on the stitching tree with spectacles.  LOL

LHN's He's a Flake - Stitched on 28 ct mystery teal, 1 over 1

I'm going to settle in and start LHN's Snowy Pines (over 1 of course) and then I'm not sure what's next. but good news Kati and I have decided that we are going to stitch Carriage House's girls for our Sunday SAL's.  We're going to start with Molly.  We are just both waiting for fabric I think.  I am anyway, and also the charts, I went ahead and order all 4 of them at once so that I have them.  But I'm very excited about it.  Until then though I'm not sure what I'll do as a bigger project, but a new one is definitely in order.

Who says I'm not a border stitcher???

Cause I am...and I have been doing the tango since yesterday with my happy dance.  Neighborhood is done!  woo hooo and the border was not a horrible thing to work on.  It helps that I had uninterrupted stitching time yesterday as well.  But it's done and I loved working on it, and I love how it looks all finished.  So now Kati...we have to decide what's next.  We'll figure something out.  I am just really happy that we did this one  :)

Little House Needleworks - Neighborhood - Stitched on 28 ct Platinum Lugana

Then I have another happy dance, I stitched my February reindeer ornament, thanks again to DaffyCat.  Hint hint Sharon.  LOL  No pressure...*wink*

Daffy Cat Designs - Jingle Bell Reindeer - 28 ct White Jobelan

So now I'm going to settle in and work some more on Pear Tree.  Over 1 is a slow go for me, but it's coming along.  Hopefully in the next couple of days I'll have a dance.  Now I also have to decide on a bigger project to work on between the ornies.

Progress..progress

In so many ways actually.  First is my Sunday progress on my SAL piece, LHN Neighborhood, is coming along.  Just the border to go now, and I've gotten a start on that.  Hopefully this coming Sunday I'll have lots of stitching time and get around at least 1/2 of it.  But I'm sensing the end is near.  woo hooo!

Then...as for myself....the progress (I think) for the 1st month has been amazing... Ladies... I have lost 17 pounds, 12 1/2 accumulative inches and have dropped 3.1 BMI basis points!  Thank you very much!  LOL

Fa La La

Here's my little LHN Ornie SAL piece...finally.  It took a long time to stitch it but it was worth it.  The 1 over 1 takes quite a bit longer for me than an over 2 does, But it comes out so delicate and dainty in the end that I love it.  I meant to put a ruler beside the ornie so you could see how small it it, but I couldn't find my ruler,  I'll have to do it next time.  However at this size the beads recommended are too big, and the faces are difficult to do...so I did what a lot of other stitchers of this piece did and left the facial features off.
Fa-La-La by Little House Needleworks. Stitched on 28 ct. Star Sapphire  1 over 1

So today I am going to start the next ornie in the series and stitch Pear Tree.  I'm hoping that after I go out and do my grocery shopping I can just stitch the afternoon and evening away.

It's been a while

Again I'm late in posting my progress on my SAL and then I realize that I hadn't posted it for last week either!  EEKK!!!  Oh well, I'm posting it now.  I can almost see the end of this project coming closer, I've got the saying to stitch and then the border.  Which makes me smile cause it almost took me a month to stitch the border on Snapperyear...LOL   I am NOT a border stitcher...obviously!  But we'll see how it goes.

I've started stitching LHN ornie of the month Fa-la-la.  That one is taking a little longer than usual for me too because I'm stitching it on 28 ct over 1.  But it's looking good, I'm hoping that I will have a happy dance on that one by the end of the week.

I've been working out every day as well.  Not for long, just 30-45 minutes a day, and I'm starting to feel and see some results.  The scale is starting to reward my efforts as well.  I've already well surpassed my goal for this month.  But then the first week or so is always a big payoff on the scale.  The rest is hard work.

A SAL update

At little late but still better than nothing...my scanner was acting weird yesterday saying that another program was using it or something stupid like that. So I just left it and it's working fine today. Finally got a Sunday that I could sit and stitch on the poor thing. I really love this project and it was nice stitching it again. I was hoping to be able to finish the house, but alas, come next Sunday the house will be completed.

We had an exciting day today, hubby and I went to the travel agent and book our all inclusive to the Mayan Riviera! Thank you very much!!! I'm so excited. We're going for 1 week, from Feb 20-27!!!! weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

I have a roof

Not much to show on my LHN SAL but it's something. I have the roof up on the house of this level of the stitching. I'm hoping that next Sunday I'll get the house done, but who knows what next week will bring.

We've got hubby's work Xmas party on Saturday night, then he might go out hunting Sunday and Monday again, before the season closes. But we'll see. I'm really hoping that I'll be going stash shopping this weekend too!!! ???

Tonight, I'll be watching The Biggest Loser, then Dancing with the stars finale, and hopefully finishing my little orange blob that will eventually become my tigger with flakes ornament.

Ok...is anyone else really sad that Jon & Kate + 8 is over?? I didn't think that I would be, but after last night, I'm kinda bummed!

What a difference a weekend makes

Went to work today and everything was roses and sunshine! I think everyone was just ready for the weekend...because all the barking and the biting has stopped. I hate it when we get updates on our software company, something always goes wonky, and then all hell breaks loose. The thing is we can only get as much fixed as the software company will fix at a time...so yelling at those that are in contact with them is not helping! ARGH....nor is calling them every hour on the hour telling them that it's still not fixed yet...cause chances are...they already know...cause we do our jobs...and we tell them...just as we're supposed to! ARGH!! ok my rant is over...LOL Everything was fine and in working order today, so it was all good. When the boss is happy, everyone is happy. (for the time being...knock wood...cross fingers...dash of salt over the shoulder)

My progress on my SAL is here. I've finished the top row now. So next Sunday I start on the bottom row. I really love this piece.

Off to pull floss for a couple of ornaments now. woo hooo!

SAL update time

Again I'm late with my update pics. I was just still revelling in the ROS finish. It's soooo nice not to have to work on it anymore! LOL It actually is quite a stunning piece though.

Here's my update on my Neighbourhood SAL. It's coming along. It's nice not to work in blocks of colours at the moment. I quite enjoyed stitching the girl and the tree.

Then I also finished stitching on the LHN ornie that we are stitching kind of as a whet you whistle to the monthly ornaments. I really liked this one. It's from the 2004 JCS ornie issue...Woodland snowfall.

Woodland Sampler, Designer Little House Needleworks

I've had a really crappy week at work, even though yesterday was a day off, it has turned into a big pile of poooo! Sometimes I question why I put up with it! ARGH! It's not even worth talking about....I'll get over it like I always do, but oh boy...when I'm in the throws of pissed-off-dom, I could burn the place down!

A finish & some WIP's updates

It's Monday, and I'm so glad that it's over. I felt like I was power working today at work.. Head down and full steam ahead. Crazy, I tell ya, just crazy! Got lots done though.

I had a pretty good stitching week last week. I finished my ornament...I'm going to finish it as a cube I think. To large to be a pillow one for the tree, so I think I'll make it into a cube with a nice ribbony bow, and put it on one of the tables in the family room. (In case you didn't know I'm a christmas junkie!!! My house looks like Christmas central by the time I'm finished with it...two trees...one with the family ornies, the big shiny tree, and then I have a craft tree, with nothing on it but X-stitched ornaments!) You'll see when I post pics. I am already excited about Christmas. LOL

Design : Holly and Berries
Designer: Little House Needleworks
Stitched on 28 ct Cameo Lugana using recommende fibres

I was going to stitch this over 1, but once I put in the first few stitches on that it was a quick decision to give up on that! No thanks! As nice as it would have been, it's just as nice this way :)

I also worked on my Neighbourhood SAL and put a few stitches into ROS. She is going to be my focus piece for this week. No other stitching planned until Sunday. So hopefullyyyy.........

So that's it for today. I'm off to have a little something to eat, and then to settle in with some tv and ROS.

Crazy busy week/weekend

So much got done this past week, and weekend. Lots of work to be done at work, and got thru so much of it I think that I might actually be ahead! Of course, now that I say that and it's out in the universe, all hell will break loose and I'll be digging out of piles again by the end of the week. It's always nice when one of my Dr's goes on holidays and I don't have to shuffle thru paperwork from them for that week. LOL

Got lots of stitching done. Don't quite know how that happened because it didn't feel like I spent a lot of time stitching. But when I ended up scanning and looking at everything for the week, it seems like I made some progress.
So here they are...

The October square of my BC snapper year, ROS (I'm itching for a finish on this one), and my Sunday SAL with Kati Neighborhood! WOO HOO!!

I pulled the threads for LHN Holly & Berries last night which I'm going to stitch as my October ornament, I'm planning on doing this over 1, but we'll see once I get started. LOL

Update

But not much of one. I didn't get much stitching done in the last couple of weeks. With the trip to Vegas...(which was fabulous!!!) and then there was work to do both at home and a bit of overtime on the job, stitching didn't really fit in, but I did manage to stitch and work on my SAL piece on Sunday. So I've attached a scan of that.

I sadly didn't get a chance to go to the LSN in Vegas. There was too much to do and see, and with me being the only stitcher in our group, I thought that I would just have to make another trip with either a fellow stitcher (hint, hint...and you know who you are..LOL) or with hubby. But it really was fantastic. I bought lots of clothes at really good deals! So I was happy about that. We went to see Cirque du soleil's Mystere...which was such a wonderful show that I still can't get over how amazing it was. We played lots of slot. I didn't take a whole lot of pictures, but one of the girls was snap happy, so I'm just waiting to get a disk from her and then I'll share some photos.

It's snowed here already on Sunday, but it didn't stick around for even the duration of the day. But it got me to thinking about getting some Xmas stitching done. I've got my copy of JCS ornie issue. Some I'd like to do out of there. And there are 3 LHN's that I'd like to stitch up for Christmas as well. So we'll see. It's a long weekend this weekend, we're having our Thanksgiving this weekend here in Canada. So I'll be hopefully stitching most of this weekend. I've got my Snapper year to work on as well, and a my October ornie, but I think that that'll be a LHN that I want to stitch. So much to do, and so little time. LOL

Oh I have to tell you also to go and check out a wonderful and generous giveaway that Kati is having...drool city!

Late again

Well I always have good intentions to upload my WIP pics on time, but time always gets away from me. And this week the excitement of Las Vegas!

I didn't get a lot of time to stitch on my SAL LHN piece on Sunday, real life got in the way. But I did manage to finish the middle part of it. So now it's just deciding whether I'm going to do the top of the bottom of it. I'll flip a coin, but I'm leaning towards the top row. I won't be stitching this coming Sunday on it, so it will be the week after anyway, so I'll have time to decide.

And here's a pic of the WIP of ROS! I am starting to see a bit of a light at the end of the tunnel on this one. It didn't make Mother's day, or my Mom's birthday, but it will surely be done by christmas. I already have thoughts of my next focus piece going thru my mind. But haven't decided yet on that one either. Too many things I want to do...and always too many new ones that pop up that have to be done as well. EEEKKKK!!!!

I am patiently awaiting my pre-ordered JCS Ornie issue. But up in Canada I guess it takes a little longer. I am itching to flip thru it. ARGH!!!!!!!

It's Tuesday!

And I have updates! I should have done this yesterday but I didn't get around to loading the pics from my camera to my pc. I have emails to catch up on as well that I wanted to get done on the weekend but I didn't get to that either, so if I owe you an email you will get them this week, I promise. It's just that the weather is so nice right now that I don't want to miss any of it. We have long cold winters and I am enjoying summer for as long as I can!

Anyway...blah blah blah...right? LOL

I feel like I got lots done on ROS last week. Didn't get too much time to stitch on it, but when I did, I got nice chunks done.

And then I didn't get as much done on my Neighbourhood as I wanted. I had more housework to do than I thought, and then I company for a couple of hours, so that all took time out of my stitching time. I wanted to get the middle part all done, but I didn't make it. Oh well, hopefully this coming Sunday.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions for Vegas Stash shopping! Looks like I'll be heading to Stitcher's Paradise! WOOOO HOOOO!!! I can't wait!

Great Stitchy weekend!

Hubby had to work this weekend, he was on call at two plants this weekend, and they pretty much kept him busy all 3 days of the Labour Day weekend. As much as I didn't like that he wasn't home...I have to admit (but don't tell him) that I had a GREAT weekend! I worked on and finished my September Ornament

Design - North Pole sign
Designer - Leisure Arts
Stitched on 28 ct white lugana

I worked on and finished my September square on my BC Snapper Year - September Brings

And I stitched a good chunk of my LHN - Neighbourhood SAL piece with Kati. I'm hoping that next Sunday I'll be able to finish the middle level of this piece. I love this project, but I do find it a bit hard to keep myself motivated thru the blocks of colours on the houses. But I'm not complaining...just stating a peeve. LOL

Then today...dant dant daaaaaa....we picked up our tickets for Vegas. Me and a couple of girlfriends are leaving the hubby's behind and heading down for a girls weekend! WOO HOOO!!!!! I'm so excited. Sept 24 - Sept 27th! So hopefully I can find at least one stitchy shop to spend some money in! If anyone knows of any I am open for suggestions. And any other shopping as well! WOOO HOOOO (Yea, I'm not excited at all. LOL)

So that's my update for today. Going to stitch on ROS for the rest of the week. Next week I should be able to show some decent progress on her.

Updates

First let me start by WOW!!! Lion King....everything that I imagined that it was going to be went wayyyy beyond my expectations. It was FANTASTIC!! In fact, I cried during the opening act, it was so overwhelming and beautiful. I had high hopes for this performance and I was not disappointed!!! It was AMAZING!

I've managed to work a little on both of my WIP's First is my SAL with Kati, LHN Neighbourhood. It's coming along nicely. I wanted to get the red house finished, but I didn't manage it. Next week Sunday though, if all goes well.

And then finally with Rose of Sharon back in the qsnaps, I'm working on her as well. I'm actually enjoying working on her at the moment, so that makes it easier, I kind of got annoyed with her for a while (don't know why) but now we on good terms again and I'm happily stitching away at her. (Yep, I sound like a crazy person, don't I? I know!)

Jan, at Belfonte Notes is celebrating her first release of her newly ready "Rare Treasures" pictured below. And she is generously offering a free copy of the chart, please go by and say hi and enter to win on her giveaway. I would love to add this one to my collection.

So we're packing up the trailer, I've got my ROS all set to go, and we're off.
Pine Coulee....here we come!!!!!
