A couple of Happy Dances

Woo Hoo! Finally I have a finish for 2010! I have been watching all of you post your first finishes and I was still sitting here trying to plug thru the snapperyear border. Which is now DONE! Thank you very much!!!!

Bent Creek - Snapper Year, Stitched on 28 ct Lugana - Sand by Silkweavers

I know that the majority of the stitching was done in 2009, but the finish didn't happen until 2010, so I'm calling it a 2010 finish! HA!

Then I also finished my first Reindeer ornament of the year. Thanks to DaffyCat designs :)) I love Holly, and I can hardly wait to stitch Jingle next month.
How cute is this deer???

Daffycat Designs - Holly Reindeer/Stitched on 28 ct Jobelan - White

Now if I could just convince Sharon to design 10 more of these cuties...My reindeer year would be complete! LOL....Just puttin' the vibe out there! (wink)

I worked on my Sunday SAL as well, but I haven't got it scanned so I will post that tomorrow for you. Didn't get much done on it, but at least I'm back into it.

December Swirls

In more ways that one...first here is the last square of my snapper year. I am going to start working on the border and hopefully soon I'll have a happy dance on this one.

We're having a blizzard!!!!! Not just a heavy snowfall, a blizzard with wind blowing, and snow falling and zero visibility! It's CRAZY!!!! I'm so glad that we're home and that we have no where to go this weekend. We can just start decorating the house.

I'm going to do my family room this weekend (with any luck) That's where my craft tree goes. And my stockings will be hung. Next week I'll do the living room and the village. But I'm thinking that I might get some of the village and the tabletops started during the week, so that all that's left for next weekend will be the tree. But we'll see how thing pan out. Either way I will get some decorating done this weekend, and maybe even some baking....mmmmm mmmmmmm!

Hunting Widow

Hubby left this morning in the weeeee hours of the morning on his hunting trip. This is a pilgrimage that he and my brother do for a week every year, to basically do the male bonding thing. Grunting, farting, burping, chest thumping "me hunter...you beast" thing. I actually don't mind it....cause when he's gone I get to do the girlie things. Eat nice simple meals, watch a week of television without ever once stopping on a hockey game. Stitch and last but not least stretch out on the bed with all the pillows and fall to sleep in "fresh-air" You know what I mean by that...don't you ladies??? No stretching and farting ceremonies before sleep! LOL

I finished my November Twirls square on the BC snapper. One more month to go and then the border and it's done! I love how folky this looks.

I'm settling in with my Sunday SAL piece now for the afternoon, and later make a taco salad for supper. (Hubby hates tacos! LOL)

Crazy busy week/weekend

So much got done this past week, and weekend. Lots of work to be done at work, and got thru so much of it I think that I might actually be ahead! Of course, now that I say that and it's out in the universe, all hell will break loose and I'll be digging out of piles again by the end of the week. It's always nice when one of my Dr's goes on holidays and I don't have to shuffle thru paperwork from them for that week. LOL

Got lots of stitching done. Don't quite know how that happened because it didn't feel like I spent a lot of time stitching. But when I ended up scanning and looking at everything for the week, it seems like I made some progress.
So here they are...

The October square of my BC snapper year, ROS (I'm itching for a finish on this one), and my Sunday SAL with Kati Neighborhood! WOO HOO!!

I pulled the threads for LHN Holly & Berries last night which I'm going to stitch as my October ornament, I'm planning on doing this over 1, but we'll see once I get started. LOL

Great Stitchy weekend!

Hubby had to work this weekend, he was on call at two plants this weekend, and they pretty much kept him busy all 3 days of the Labour Day weekend. As much as I didn't like that he wasn't home...I have to admit (but don't tell him) that I had a GREAT weekend! I worked on and finished my September Ornament

Design - North Pole sign
Designer - Leisure Arts
Stitched on 28 ct white lugana

I worked on and finished my September square on my BC Snapper Year - September Brings

And I stitched a good chunk of my LHN - Neighbourhood SAL piece with Kati. I'm hoping that next Sunday I'll be able to finish the middle level of this piece. I love this project, but I do find it a bit hard to keep myself motivated thru the blocks of colours on the houses. But I'm not complaining...just stating a peeve. LOL

Then today...dant dant daaaaaa....we picked up our tickets for Vegas. Me and a couple of girlfriends are leaving the hubby's behind and heading down for a girls weekend! WOO HOOO!!!!! I'm so excited. Sept 24 - Sept 27th! So hopefully I can find at least one stitchy shop to spend some money in! If anyone knows of any I am open for suggestions. And any other shopping as well! WOOO HOOOO (Yea, I'm not excited at all. LOL)

So that's my update for today. Going to stitch on ROS for the rest of the week. Next week I should be able to show some decent progress on her.
