So much, So much

So much to say, So much to share.....

Being away for Thanksgiving & returning home, washing clothes, moving Luke upstairs to his new bedroom, putting up Christmas decorations and slowly writing 8 papers due by the end of the semester.......the blog has been on the back burner.

But for now.....

This little "turkey" enjoyed his 1st Thanksgiving.....
and learned to do this the very same day!!
He was so proud of himself!

Yep, my little love is beginning to see what being on two feet is all about....I'm sure walking is just around the corner!

On the other hand, Big brother wanted to ride "Daddy the Bull" on all fours, while trying to rope everything in sight!  ha!

Hope you all enjoyed your Thanksgiving!

Thankful

This year, I can't even begin to count my blessings without almost tearing up.

I feel so very grateful.

My appreciation for my Lord, my husband and beautiful boys, my family, my church, and my friends.  It goes beyond what I could put into words.

I'm thankful.

Thanksgiving Morning.  With my boys.  Who could ask for more.

During our dinner, a traditional pilgrim came to visit.
Bryson got to try on his hat, while Layton wanted a picture with him.

My attempt at a cute picture, in their Thanksgiving shirts.
Fail.

Ok, let's try again, but just one little guy.
His first Thanksgiving.

My family celebrated the weekend before Thanksgiving since my brother and SIL were traveling out of state during the holiday to see her family.
It worked out great, we were able to spend the entire weekend with no rushing around.  It was definitely nice:)

The feast.

Luke and Mady played peek-a-boo with the doors

and Layton & his great grandmother laughed constantly.  (one of my favorite memories)

Luke also drove his tractors...

and took naps on Uncle Bryan's chest.

One of the funniest parts of the weekend, Blake was showing off this portrait of my Dad taken in the mid 90's.  Hilarious!

Here we are....all the "originals".

Socks

Lately, Luke has an obsession with SOCKS!

He carries them around, everywhere!

I think it is funny and interesting!

Maybe his socks are becoming his "lovies"?

Who knows....but it is definitely something I don't want to forget:)

10 Months

Double digits.  10 Months Old.

My heart sinks but my face smiles with the joy that you have brought into lives.  As Thanksgiving approaches, I know exactly what I am giving thanks for this year.....it's you, my sweet son.

519-1

During the 9th month of your life (Oct 11th - Nov 11th), I have seen your biggest changes.  Not so much physically, because we all know you are doing WELL in that department, but we have seen your little personality come alive.  We are seeing more of YOU....and we are loving it!  :)

You...

weigh around 23 lbs and are about 30 inches long.  You are wearing size 12 - 18 month clothes, and size 4 diapers.

are still exclusively nursing, and are quite quick at it too!  (3 minutes or less! super fast!)

are taking 2 naps a day, and are sleeping through the night (with the exception of a little snack at about 2:30, does that count?  ha!  You are also beginning to learn how to put yourself to sleep, and Mommy is rocking you less and less.  Even though it makes me sad, it's time.

IMG_4818

are babbling constantly, letting us know what going through that little mind of yours.  However, many times you are enamored by your big brother, just watching quietly, yet intently.  But now, you are showing him that you have a say too!  (saying: ma ma, da da, bye bye, bi (bite), and shake your head "no").

got your 3rd (upper) and 4th tooth (lower)!

doing the funniest things lately!  Shrugging your shoulders (which is precious), you also get up on your knees and lift your hands and make a little growl...you look like a little bear ready to pounce! So, I guess you are living up to your nickname, cuddly but feisty!

IMG_4822

love to wiggle when you hear music....you shake from side to side and bounce up and down.  There is nothing cuter!

love to give kisses - open mouth kisses!  And sometimes, I am not even prepared for them...I just see this slobbery mouth coming at me!  But, believe me, I don't mind!!

IMG_4823

you are so very strong.  My goodness!  You are definitely like a bull in a china closet when I am getting you dressed or you want down to crawl.  Wrestling with you in going to interesting in a few years :)

crawl with ease, pull up with confidence and are beginning to "let go" and stand for a few seconds.  My guess is that you will be walking by your 1st birthday.

IMG_4873

love to climb - anything!  But especially stairs....the baby gate is BACK!  ha! You think it is funny when Mommy comes to rescue you off the stairs, you giggle and start climbing faster!  Yes, you will be my little monkey!

have a obsession with socks!  You love holding them & carrying them around, everywhere!  They have turned into your "lovies"!  And you have an obsession with my dishwasher - what is it that makes it so interesting??
IMG_4824

you are such a good (and still messy) eater!  This has been such a change for me, your big brother is so very NEAT!  But I love that you are your own individual and unique, even if it means cleaning you up after every meal.  You are beginning to eat more table food, little by little I can see that our baby food days are numbered.  Oh, and you kick your little legs as you eat....you definitely enjoy food! ;)

IMG_4831

love to give me bites of all of your food.....you want to share, saying, "bi".

love to call like an Indian, saying, "Ahhhh!" and patting your mouth at the same time -- too cute! :)

IMG_4840

are beginning to really PLAY with Layton.  It makes my heart so happy to see you boys playing together.  You understand when things are funny, and you repeat the action over and over.  For example, you take your paci out and throw it......I say, "Don't you throw you paci!" Then you go and throw it again.....waiting for me to say it again, then giggling!  I just LOVE IT!

celebrated your 1st Halloween, dressed as the cutest little bear EVER!

We feel so blessed to be sharing these sweet days with you....
Happy 10 Months, Sweet Boy!

Oh, Be careful...

little feet where you go,

Be careful little feet where you go,

For the Father up above, is looking down with love,

So, be careful little feet where you go.

Sending Some Cheer

I love sending a little holiday cheer to my friends and family, especially with a old fashion Christmas card.  There is something special about opening up mail from a loved one and seeing how their family has grown and changed over the past year.  I can't wait to send mine with our newest sweet addition, baby Luke:)
I have always used Shutterfly for our Christmas cards, it is so user friendly and afforable.

Here are our photo cards from the past several years....

2 Boys & a Box

All the toys in the world, doesn't beat playing with a cardboard BOX!

IMG_4391 IMG_4392

I had ordered something recently and decided to let Layton & Luke play with the box.  The boys played for at least an hour - giggling, laughing, screaming & squealing!
IMG_4393

Layton pulled Luke for a ride up and down the hallway.
IMG_4398IMG_4395

Luke loved it!
IMG_4397

While I enjoyed watching the boys begin to truly play together.  I'm so glad that they have each other as brothers, and playmates! I feel so privileged to see their relationship grow and blossom.

Here's to many more hours of playing with boxes!
