Jewish Music: A New Kid on the Block

.
Jerusalem - Israel’s new sensation in Chassidic music is not from Jerusalem or Bnei Brak. Until a few years ago he was an African-American Christian from Ohio.

In an interview to Israel's CH. 2 “The Jews are the children of HaKadosh Boruch Hu,” says rapper Yehuda Menashe, who studied in a New York yeshiva, converted and adopted a Hebrew name. He made aliya almost a year ago, and his speech is now a medley of English, Yiddish and Hebrew. (To read more, please check out Vos Is Neias/What is new in Yiddish)

Speaking of Music and Kingship...

.
R.I.P. Michael Jackson.

The world of music and entertainment was in mourning today after singer Michael Jackson collapsed and died at his Los Angeles home.

Jackson, 50, suffered a massive heart attack and stopped breathing last night, although the exact circumstances of his death are not yet known.

His personal doctor was with him at home when he collapsed but could not revive him. Unconfirmed reports claim the catastrophic heart attack could have been triggered by a painkiller injection.

Sources close to the Jackson family had recently told the Daily Mail how the singer was addicted to painkillers and that they had taken over his life. One side effect of their abuse is cardiac arrest. (more at the Daily Mail)

I had just completed a piece on music and kingship. Yep, Michael Jackson was certainly the king of music in this generation.

Pop Up Blockers/ Haitian Music

.
I wish someone would invent a pop up blocker against forced music that come on when I go to a site or blog.

*******************************

Anyway.....****listening to Haitian music.....********************

I'm so excited to say, I found my all time favorite Haitian song. Even my kids know the refrain of this one because I sing it so much "Ke'm pa Sote wooooo!" (Even Hubby tries from time to time, sweet guy)

(women singing)

In the refrain the people are singing that they need to dance properly and "balance" because "Boukman" (the musical group) is in the carnaval. A fiddler on the roof hatian style? LOL

Oh Barak(Obama) just came into the "playground" woy, here's Koudjay...

And of course, Sweet Micky

I'm having too much fun while the house is sleeping. lol
