STRAP WORTHY AND THAT THING THAT GOES TICK-TOCK

As I write this, I’m actually pinching myself due to a cancelled trip to attend the First Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie Exhibition ( Watches & Wonders ) in Hong Kong . On a brighter note, I did Art Basel a few months back  - that should shut me up.

Speaking about watches, It’s time to get a grip on the most important accessory in a man’s wardrobe, which btw isn’t your trusty Velcro military watch you have had since high school.

Aside from that perfect mother of pearl cufflinks I got from mi abuelito, for most men, a watch is the only accessory they get to invest in, so why not make it an exceptional timepiece? Seriously, it is better to have one great watch than several cheap ones in plastic.

WHAT'S YOUR UNIFORM?

I totally feel naked without a watch on. In fact, I have a couple of nice watches bought from trips abroad and presents from mum and dad. I was never a fan of Tag Heuer but nothing beats Rolex and Breitling.

SUMMER PROJECT : LIME STRAPS AND RED SOCKS

Summer project: switching my 12 year old brown leather band to lime green. It is easy, cheap and you’ll feel like you bought a totally new watch for what, Php 500 or so? No brainer! You can also be impulsive and get a couple of different options and rotate them like you do your loafers. Now, call me cheap.

On my list for next month:
•Suit for my cousins wedding (Paul Smith or should I go bespoke?)
•New pair of black lace-ups
•More red socks
•Have leather belt made (Edgarsons in Zamboanga) and courier to Manila
