Me and my friend decided to drop by the emporium of super cupcakes, awesome goodies and not so serious art in Petaling Jaya during our recent trip to Kuala Lumpur.

It was love at first sight. Quirky, unconventional and almost whimsical, +Wondermilk cupcakes definitely entails a combination of design and pastry arts.

They also have boxes and pails filled with stationery designed by their in-house graphic artist, lomo cameras and shirts by badger – I even ended up buying a vintage looking Paris side table clock for MYR 68.00 and a shirt for MYR 45.00.

MISSING BENEDICT

Brunch on Sundays were always spent at LUMIERE with a plate of Eggs Benedict, Ricotta Pancakes and a sparkling glass of Mimosa. Since they opened a few years back, LUMIERE was notably one of the best restaurant in the metro - possibly even my favorite. A gem secretly tucked at the podium of LV Locsin Building along Makati Avenue, even their chic little paper menu placemats says it all

“Sunday Brunch is the soothing palliative to the morning after of the night before, to end-of-the-weekend blues, start of the work week angst, or simply, a dose of more cholesterol to dull the effects of a hangover.”

Lumiere has now been replaced by Chef Colin Mackays’ SALA. I’ve tried Museum(M) Café and Apartment 1B’s brunch but it really isn’t the same as LUMIERE's.

Does anyone know whatever happened to LUMIERE? Buddha wants to know.

J'AIME MACARONS!

Taken at Bizu earlier. I had to control myself and not go gaga buying everything up! I did buy a couple of macarons – like 6 flavors!

HOOKED ON ALL THINGS SQUARE AND SWEET

I was really starting to think that this craving for something really sweet like I had with Royce two weeks ago was something that I was going to have to just deal with for the entire next year. The days ahead felt dauntingly long, as just getting through one day of this each day has been trial enough. There was also a big part of me that was relieved that I wasn't just being a wussy and a whiner. I only wish I had it sooner, rather than feeling determined to suck it up, tough it out, get the best of it so it didn't get the best of me.

I was incredibly relieved on my way to work last week when I got an SMS from my friend Pia. “ I brought you mango bars, brownies etc for tasting, tell me what you think!”
