4th Annual Rancho Remembers

Rancho Remembers 2011!
An amazing event once again! Veterans honored, respected, and heard! Over 200 veterans gathered at RCHS for breakfast, interviews, and lunch:) 3-4 students interviewed each veteran. Many students and parent volunteers set up, served food, etc. The school choir sang. Students worked the sound booth. The woodshop classes made all of the wooden stands for the name tags (on over 200 tables). Over 1,200 people involved!

Former mayor now councilman Bill Alexander and Jim Moffat (owner of Red Hill Coffee Shop;)

Jack Hammett is a Pearl Harbor survivor. He has come to this event all 4 years. His story is featured in a book about Pearl Harbor. He is pictured in the book with his wife of 71 years! She passed away 2 weeks before this year's event. It was the first thing he told me when i saw him:(

I am so proud of Aaron and all he puts into this program! He personally visits veterans, calls them, goes to dinner with them, leads a group of students in the effort to contact veterans and invite them to come, teaches students the importance of respecting veterans, and simply shares his passion for people and our country...
The students who participate in this are really impacted by it. They LOVE it!
The veterans who participate love it too! They get to share their story, be heard, and be thanked!
