The Paper Players #757

I was playing around with the Doves dies from Honey Bee and ended up with three cards.  Two of them  fit the bill at The Paper Players this week.  This is the one I sent to their gallery.

This was actually the third one I made and wanted something different in the background.  The DSP is from TH and embossed with the Hex Snowflake folder from Spellbinders.  The gold embossed sentiment is from PFS.   I might as well show you the other two.

Another patterned paper from TH was cut with Honey Bee's scallops.  The PFS sentiment is embossed in silver.

Same paper as above but a different version of the dove.  The frame is from PTI with another PFS sentiment.

Three more Christmas cards added to my stash.  Yahoo!

Just Us Girls #761 - DIe Week

Our die challenge at Just Us Girls last month was a hit.  Today we have another die challenge hosted by Lisa, this time with a prompt.

Valentine's Day is near so this is a great time to get out your heart dies.

This one is an oldie from Serendipity.   The heart was cut from white and embossed with Silver Pearl.  Concord and 9th Carnation cardstock is edged with patterned paper cut with an edger from My Craft Spot.  Both MCS and Serendipity are out of business. The sentiment is from Penny Black.

I'd like to welcome Stephanie Severin as our guest designer this month.  You can find her here.  She and the rest of the team have some great ways to use heart dies.  Please check them out and then make a card for the gallery.  We'd love to see you there.

Tag You're It! #64

Team B is up on Tag You're It! this week and Lynn Put has our inspiration tag.

This is what I did based on her colorful creation.
I used a HA tag, Uniko tea cup and sentiment, MCS scalloped border and patterned paper from my stash.

We'd love to see your tag in the gallery so check out what the Design Team has done and get inspired to make a tag of your own.

Inspired by All the Little Things #35

I'd say I'm doing much better at being 'inspired' rather than taking photo challenges too literally.  Case in point - my card for Inspired by All the Little Things.
The photo:
My card:
See?  Not a snowman to be found.  But you can see (barely) clear embossed snowflakes on the white, red polka dots and holly.

Thanks for taking time to drop by today.

Just Us Girls #361

Hey there!  Guess which week it is at Just Us Girls?  If you said 'Color Week' you're right.  Nancy has picked these colors for us.
I love red and black which just happen to be my school colors - and also my craft room colors.  Mixing in yellow gave me pause but I worked it out.  In fact now I have more yellow than red.
The stitched panel and it's accompanying scalloped panel are both from SugarPea Designs and the flowers are from Altenew.

We'd love to see you create a card using red, black and yellow plus any neutral.  You have a chance to win Chic of the Week and possibly be a guest designer in November like Kathy Schweinwurth is for September.  Check out Kathy's card and those of the rest of the Design Team at Just Us Girls. There's lots of inspiration waiting for you.

Addicted to Stamps and More #205

Boy the summer is just flying by.  It's August already and time for a photo challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More.  In a previous post I said I was trying to get away from the obvious literal translation but I just couldn't do it with this.  Well, maybe it's a little different.
Nope, not really. :)  I spread some Twisted Citron and Cracked Pistachio on my craft sheet with plenty of water and smooshed to my heart's content until I was satisfied with the results.  Wait.  I have to back up a step.  First I white heat embossed the sentiment from Sugar Pea Designs, then I smooshed and then I cut it out with the Sugar Pea scalloped die.   What's that balloon doing there you might ask?  There was what I'd call a blemish and I couldn't fix it so I covered it with a balloon cut from glitter paper that looks much more like the color of the card IRL.

Our sponsor this time is DRS Designs and they have offered a $10 gift certificate to the winner of the challenge.
For more inspiration, visit the ATSM blog and see what the rest of the designers have done with this photo.

I hope to see your card in the gallery.

Just Us Girls #354

Whenever there are 5 Saturdays in a month Just Us Girls has a Wild Card challenge and Nancy has chosen this for the theme:
I'm not usually a girly type card maker but I have a good reason to love this challenge.  My great-granddaughter turns 1 in September and I made a card to celebrate her birthday.
I can just imagine Hannah wearing a dress that looks something like this. Fabric made with a NBUS stamp from CASual Fridays embossed with Silver Pearl,  overlaid with Spun Sugar and adorned with Liquid Pearls.  On the bottom a little scalloped tutu of vellum cut by MFT and a silver sash.  (Yes, it's silver, Darn photo editing.)  PTI's oval dies, the bottom one inked in Spun Sugar and the HLS number 1 embossed in silver are my sentiment.

We'd love to see your idea of a girly card.  You may be chosen Chic of the Week and be eligible for a Guest Designer Spot in September.  Head on over to the Just Us Girls blog for some inspiration.
