The Paper Players #757

I was playing around with the Doves dies from Honey Bee and ended up with three cards.  Two of them  fit the bill at The Paper Players this week.  This is the one I sent to their gallery.

This was actually the third one I made and wanted something different in the background.  The DSP is from TH and embossed with the Hex Snowflake folder from Spellbinders.  The gold embossed sentiment is from PFS.   I might as well show you the other two.

Another patterned paper from TH was cut with Honey Bee's scallops.  The PFS sentiment is embossed in silver.

Same paper as above but a different version of the dove.  The frame is from PTI with another PFS sentiment.

Three more Christmas cards added to my stash.  Yahoo!

Just Us Girls #586 - Wild Card Week

On Wild Card Week the host has a chance to pick whatever she wants for the challenge at Just Us Girls.  Angie is our host this week and she picked

How easy is that?  Whether stamped, stenciled or on patterned paper you all have some sort of spots/dots.  As for me, I went with patterned paper.
I got the paper out for another challenge and then realized it didn't follow the guidelines.  I still wanted to use it so I white heat embossed the Monda Sakura from EH, colored it with Zigs to match the dots and added a sentiment from The Ton.

There is plenty of inspiration from the Design Team and our guest designer Jacinda on the blog.  Check out how they used spots and/or dots on their cards and then make one of your own for our gallery.

Inspired By #166

When I see a quilt on a prompt, I just HAVE to make a card.  Especially when the photo is as cute as the one at Inspired By.

I cut up little squares from age old paper packs to make my card.
I glued them onto copy paper and ran it through my Big Shot with a quilt embossing folder.  The images are from MFT and were stamped for me by a friend.  Thanks, Angie.  Unfortunately I had to fussy cut them and I'm not very good at that but a black pen around the edges helps.  I colored them with PolyChromos pencils, gave the sentiment from the set a little aging with Antique Linen DI to match the Rustic White cs from PTI and done.

Thanks for dropping by.  I appreciate it when you do.

Freshly Made Sketches #464

A while ago I saw this card from Jaycee and couldn't get it out of my mind.  I made my version for the challenge at Freshly Made Sketches.

The Altenew Pine and Poinsettia stamps are heat embossed on vellum.  The background is from a paper pack by Craft and You (I think it must have come as a gift with order) and the silver embossed sentiment is from Penny Black.

Thanks for dropping by.  I hope your cards are finished and ready to mail.

The Flower Challenge #46 - Reminder

There is still time to make a card for The Flower Challenge featuring your Summer/Winter flowers.  Here's mine.
I was cleaning out some old 12x12 paper and ran across a scrap of this one that makes a great background for flowers.  The petunias are from WPlus9 stamped with Altenew inks.  With all the writing on the panel, I decided to forego a sentiment.

Have you made a card for the challenge yet?  The Design Team and our guest designer Mac Mable have more cards for your inspiration over on the blog.  I hope you'll check them out.

Freshly Made Sketches #348

I don't know what is is about Freshly Made Sketches but it takes me almost until the challenge deadline to get an inspiration.  I just finished this.
Picked two papers and couldn't decide on a third.  Painted a flower and didn't like the color.  So I stuck in a black and white stripe that goes well with anything and used a different Zig for the WF flower that I put on a PFS hexagon after stamping the PB sentiment.  Now I'm happy.

Thanks for dropping by.  I love it when you do, especially if you leave a comment.

Just Us Girls #538 - Wild Card Week

When it's Wild Card Week at Just Us Girls the host gets to pick anything to challenge us and Sue has picked
I've been trying to use more of my patterned paper so this was a fun one for me.
The papers are from a 7 year old pack from Pink Paislee.  I was hoping it would work for a masculine card even though the colors are pastel-y.  The middle panel was cut with Postage dies from HoneyBee and the hexagon from a PinkFresh die and stamped with an Altenew sentiment.  Both are popped up on fun foam.

Now it's time for you to pull out some of your hoarded wonderful patterned papers and make a card for the challenge. The Design Team and our guest Deborah Frings have inspiration for you on the blog.  Speaking of Deborah - it's her last week with us.  I want to thank her for all the creative projects she showed us this month.

Inspired By - Sweet on You

I had all the elements for the Inspired By challenge so I had to make a card.
The background similar to the photo came from a Love Nicole paper pack, the crimped die from The Greetery and the cherries from Sunny Studio.  An homage to the silver spoon comes from slate gray cardstock from EbyE and the sentiment is from MFT.  Companies working together to make another uplifting card for my homebound church people.  How fun is that?!

It's the beginning of a rainy week here in Michigan so I should get a lot of crafting done.  How about you?

The Flower Challenge #44 - Reminder

There still time to make a card for The Flower Challenge.
Monochrome is either black and white or tones of the same color.  I used all one color last time so for my reminder card I went with black and white.
The flower and leaves from Altenew's Wallpaper Art were stamped in black and clear heat embossed.  They were placed on some patterned paper also from Altenew.  I couldn't decide on a sentiment so I left it off.

If you need inspiration for a card for our challenge, please check out the Design Team and our guest designer Nonni.  They have some fabulous cards waiting for you on the blog.

CAS(E) This Sketch #371

I'm cutting it kind of short for my entry into the CAS(E) This Sketch challenge.  It took me until last night to come up with something that I liked.
I've been trying to use more of my patterned paper and this one caught my eye.  Well to be honest plaid always catches my eye and I thought this would be a little different.  The photo editing makes it have more of a yellowish cast but it matches the ivory cs I used for the card base and the hemstitch die cut oval.  The Altenew Weekend Doodles were stamped in brown and heat embossed in clear so I could color it with Zigs to match the colors in the plaid.  There was only room for a tiny sentiment and this one is from PB.  Good for the times I'd say.

So take care all of you visitors to my blog.  Thanks for dropping by.

Inspired By #122

Any challenge that has a quilt in it inspires me and Inspired By has one, along with other bedding, this week.
They also have a sketch and I used that - sort of.
All the papers except for the PTI polka dot is from KaiserCraft.  I added an extra hexagon to place my sentiment on.

Thanks for dropping by.  I hope your week is off to a great start.

Time Out #160

The chair in the photo at Time Out intrigued me.  I made a slipcover for my DIL's chair using a several different fabrics and it looked wonderful.  I love mixing fabrics and patterned paper (not together 😜) so this card was a joy to create.
I started with the background from an ancient paper pack and added the stripe along the side. The Altenew flower was stamped without the first layer so it would be mostly white.  I put the flower together with a polka die cut leaf from PB and a sentiment from HLS.

Thanks for dropping by.  I hope you are all doing well and staying safe.

The Paper Players #488

The card I made for The Paper Players took me back to my early days of card making when it was all patterned paper and layers upon layers.  I incorporated my newer style with a layered floral from Altenew and this is the result.
I must admit I made another card using the same formula for a different challenge that hasn't been posted yet and that's what inspired this one.  I love this so much I'm going through my ancient pads of DSP to see what else I can use to make similar cards.

Thanks for dropping by. I hope you are all doing well.

Time Out #159 and The Paper Players #486

I have lots of flower stamps so I knew I would go with the garden portion of the Time Out "words to inspire".  I incorporated the color challenge from The Paper Players to make this card.
I decided it's about time to use some of my patterned paper and this one fit the bill perfectly.  I stamped the flower and leaves from Altenew's Grateful Heart and added a sentiment from their Weekend Doodles set.

It's been a wild day weatherwise.  We actually had snow.  Not enough to stay on the ground but it came down pretty heavily for a while.  It made me want to stay in and craft. ;)

Thanks for dropping by.

Freshly Made Sketches #429

While some people are trying to use their NBUS stamps, I decided to use some long forgotten ones.  I pulled out a Winnie and Walter set for Freshly Made Sketches.
All the stamps except the one in black are from the same set and I chose colors to match the patterned paper that came in a kit a long time ago.

Thanks for taking time to visit.  I hope you are doing well and staying busy.

Inspired By #117

I love the title of Inspired By's challenge.
Yellow does make me happy.   It's such a sunny color.  So I was inspired to make a card.
I know lavender is in it's name but I had to take artistic license and make one yellow, to look similar to the flowers? in the photo.  Some ancient patterned paper frames it.

Thanks for dropping by.
