Altenew Inspiration Challenge November 2025

I always enjoy the beautiful pictures that the Altenew team uses for their inspiration challenges. This card is for their November Challenge.

Michelle's Fuchsia are beautiful and the colors are perfect for any floral card.  I used the new to me Japanese Anemone stamp, stencil  and die set.

The inks are Pink Diamond, Puffy Heart, Grass Field, Shadow Creek, Sunray, and Bamboo.  The sentiment is from the set, stamped on an apothecary label.  The dark gray background was textured with the Organic Linen embossing folder.

Thanks for dropping by and spending a bit of your day with me.

Color Throwdown #845 and NBUS #80

Sadly Color Throwdown is closing their challenge after #845 is complete.  It wouldn't be right not to make a card to say goodbye and to thank all of the design team members past and present for giving us such a fun and colorful challenge.

My favorite thing next to birds is flowers and I just had to have this Garden Cosmos die set from Altenew.  I think they are so dainty, especially their feathery leaves.  They were colored in Altenew inks - Fresh Lemon for the body, Chamomile for the edges which was also used for the centers of the flowers and the corners of the card and Sweet Leaf and Just Green for the leaves.  A panel was cut with Spellbinders Notched Corners and embossed with SU Subtle folder.  The sentiment is from Betterpress.

A new die means my card is headed for Darnell's NBUS challenge too.

Thanks for dropping by and spending a little bit of your day with me.

Color Hues #122

Silver and Teal.  What a beautiful combination for a Color Hues challenge.  And for a Christmas card.

It all started with the PFS Ornaments hot foil plate in silver.  The ornaments are stenciled using Altenew Aqualicious and Teal Cave and Lisa Horton silver.  Then it was decision time for the background.  I used Spellbinder's Evergreen folder, inking it with the silver to deboss the leaves.  Recollections silver was added for a border and hanging strips and a panel edge was inked with  Aqualicious for another border.  The sentiment is from the same stamp set.

Thanks for dropping by and spending a little bit of your day with me.

Altenew Inspiration Challenge October 2025

The beautiful photo by Mindy had me ready to make a card for the Altenew Inspiration Challenge.

The colors said Dancing Sunflowers to me and I stenciled them with Honey Drizzle, Dusty Rose, Olive, Moss, Sea Forest, Mangrove Root, Mocha and Espresso.  I tried to get the Dusty Rose darker but it kept fading back and I didn't have anything darker in the color I wanted.  To keep the white outline from showing, I colored it with the Milk Chocolate artist marker before adhering to some dark brown cardstock that had been embossed with the Chain Link folder.  The sentiment from Delightful Day was stamped in Milk Chocolate on a light yellow paper and cut with the die.

I was honored with a win in the September challenge for this card.  Two members of my Time Out design team were also winners.  If you haven't entered this inspiration challenge you might want to think about it.  Winners get $30 credit to Altenew.  My order comes today.

Thanks for dropping by.

Just Us Girls #794 `- Stencil Week

It's Stencil Week at Just Us Girls and it's Anything Goes with our host Lisa.

This Flowery Bouquet from Altenew is a hot foil plate done in gold and was stenciled with Altenew inks.  The foiled sentiment is from PFS.

What stencil will you use for our challenge?  Let's go see what Jaydee and the Design Team did.  They always have such wonderful inspiration.

Time Out #298 - Pick Two

This week's challenge at Time Out is another Pick Two - spatter, music, season, edge, monochrome, and metallic.

Those should give you a wide range of ideas for a card. I went rather simple with mine.

I picked season (Christmas) and edge (die cut).  The Angel Bells are from Alex Syberia stenciled with Altenew inks and partially die cut along the edge.  The sentiment is from the same set which now that I think of it is rather ironic since season is one of  my picks.

This challenge is being sponsored by Lawn Fawn and they are offering our winner a $25 store credit.  You have to enter to win so check out the inspiration from the Design Team, pick your words and make a card.  We'd love to see you in the gallery.

Color Hues #117, Addicted to Stamps and More #500 and NBUS #78

I was playing with my NBUS Honey Bee Vintage Roses when I realized my card would work for the Color Hues Challenge - orange and green.  All I had to do was change the flower centers from yellow to dark brown.

The pieces were cut from white cardstock and colored with Altenew inks in Frayed Leaf, Forest Glades and Evergreen for the leaves and Pastel Sunrise, Canyon Clay and Burnt Red for the flowers.  The Burnt Red looks more orange IRL.  It's all on a panel of SB Fern which is also what the Altenew sentiment is stamped on.

Congratulations to Addicted to Stamps and More on their 500th challenge.   What a milestone!  Ten years ago I was honored to be on their design team.  They are looking for Die Cuts/Stencils so this card qualifies.

I'm also sending my card to Darnell's NBUS and to her IDEAS where ink is the word of the week.

I'm so glad you dropped by.  I love your visits and your comments.

My Crafty Adventure

The early morning hours of Wednesday, August 20 found me wending my way to Michele's home where she, Marcia and I would spend a day talking, laughing, lunching and sharing our products.  From those products, we each made three cards to highlight in today's post.

I brought the Simon Says Stamp Elegant Rose stencil and had made this one for Michele as a thank you for hosting me.

It is done in shades of yellow and green from Altenew.

Marcia brought a stencil set from PTI called In the Meadow.

Rebel that I am, I didn't use the layers of the stencil, opting instead to add my own shading with Altenew ink. The panel was cut with SB's Notched Corner Frames.  Michele shared some of her Prairie Grass cardstock from PTI and it is a great match for the Nature's Wonders ink.  The BetterPress sentiment was cut with a smaller corner frame.

Michele had recently gotten the Ella Pumpkin stencil from The Ton and we each made a card with it.

I used the Warm and Cozy set of Altenew inks along with Nature's Wonder for the stems.  A white panel was cut from MFT's Wonky Rectangles and placed on plaid paper from Honey Bee's Homestead Harvest. The sentiment is from C9's Freshly Picked.

You've seen my cards.  Now let's go take a look at how Michele and Marcia finished their cards.  I'm sure you'll be amazed at how different the cards look while using the same stencils. Click on the links to their blog posts.

Let it be known that this is not all the crafting we did that day, just the ones we agreed to finish and share. And I stayed overnight so there was even more crafting the next morning.  It is always so much fun to be able to get together with other cardmakers who inspire you and share what stamps and dies they have that aren't in your arsenal.  I'm already looking forward to next time.

Time Out #296

It's time for another Time Out Challenge and this one is a theme challenge.

It is being sponsored by Claire Brennan Designs and she is offering a stamp set to our winner.  You can see the set on the Time Out post.

The rose is a stencil from Simon Says Stamp, colored with Altenew inks.  The sentiment is from Pinkfresh Studio.

The design team and our guest LeAnne have some wonderfully supportive cards to inspire you.  I hope you will join us for this challenge.

Inkspirational #347

I kept looking at the mood board at Inkspirational until I finally had an aha moment.  Concord and 9th's Eclectic Garden was the answer.

The flowers were cut from white cardstock and colored with Altenew inks in colors from the board.  For the background I used my smooshy tool to make a smooshed background using some of the same colors, then cut it with Honey Bee's Deckle Edge.  The sentiment is from SB BetterPress.

So glad you stopped by for a visit.

The Flower Challenge #105 - Add Embellishments

Where is the summer going?  It's August already and time for another The Flower Challenge.

I'm not a big embellishment user but it was fun finding a die set that I could design using them.

It all began with Altenew's Zero Waste Floral Cover die cut in white and the various flowers and leaves colored with Altenew inks.  I used their enamel dots for the center of the flowers and added a BetterPress sentiment.

Let's go see what the Design Team has for inspiration.  We'd love it if you got out your embellishments and decorated a card for the challenge.

Just Us Girls #785 - Stencil Week

I'm the host at Just Us Girls for Stencil Week where anything goes.

I'm expecting a large turnout for this challenge even if it is the middle of the summer.  I hope you can join the Design Team and our guest Donna Mikasa with your stenciled card.

My card is 5 by 7 to fit more of the Altenew gold hot foil Floral Wreath that was stenciled with Altenew Inks.  The sentiment is from Dare2BArtsy stamped in Emerald.

The Flower Challenge #104 - Reminder

There is still time for you to make a card for The Flower Challenge based on the colors in the photo.

For this card I used the colors opposite from the previous card, using the blue for the flowers and rust for the leaves.

The Morning Glories are from Altenew in the Cool Summer Night collection and the leaves are Orange Cream and Firebrick.  Another Betterpress sentiment finishes it off.

I hope my cards and those of the rest of the design team inspire you to make a card for the challenge.

The Flower Challenge #104 - Color Challenge.

For the month of July, The Flower Challenge wants you to be inspired by the colors in the photo

The flowers are Golden Days by Altenew, stamped in Peach Perfect, Caramel Toffee and Paper Bag with the leaves in inks from the Cool Summer Night collection.  The background panel was spritzed with Salvaged Patina Distress Spray and covered with a plate from Concord and 9th.  The sentiment is a SB Betterpress done in Paper Bag.  A micro pen helped define the stamens.

For inspiration please be sure to check out the fantastic cards the design team has made using the colors.  We'd love to see your card in our gallery.

Inkspirational #344 , Addicted to Stamps and More #495 and Darnell's IDEAS

This is  my second entry into the Inkspirational Challenge - this time using their option of geometric.

I took advantage of a Pinkfresh Studio sale to get this free Garden Trellis stencil and die cut.  The background was stenciled with Altenew Nature's Wonders inks and layered with the die cut in gold.  For the sentiment I cut the die from C9 in gold and layered it with dark brown.

I'm also sending this to Addicted to Stamps and More who are asking for stencils and/or die cuts and I have both on my card and to Darnell's IDEAS, 5th Monday stencils.
