Special Guest Designer - Tanya Pyshchyk - Live Inspired Tag

Hello Everyone

Welcome to our Special Guest Designer today - Tanya Pyshchyk.
Tanya was the winner from last month and is sharing her gorgeous work with us today, for the current mood board.

Here's a little about Tanya first.

Hi, my name is Tatiana.
I’m Ukrainian and live in a beautiful city of Lviv (Western Ukraine), which is over 750 years old, has a special atmosphere created by vintage buildings and many cozy coffeehouses.
I am married and have two children. With my dear husband Roman I have two lovely daughters, Sofia and Natalia. We love spending time together, go for a walk, take pictures or prepare good food.
I cannot imagine my life without scrapbooking. I discovered it two years ago and this hobby is my favourite now. I love creating in different styles, but mostly work in mixed media and freestyle. I like mixed media the best as it is a very bright and colourful style which also gives me a lot of freedom.
Always glad to new friends!

Tanya created this amazing project.

Isn't this tag just delightful and stunning!!!!

Thanks sooo much Tanya for this beauty! ;-)

Please pop over to Tanya's blog for more inspiration and creativity! ;-)

Will you play along with our current mood board?

Wandering In The Forest Tag by Kay

For this month's challenge I decided to do a tag--a small project but one I haven't done in a long time.  When I saw this month's mood board--the first thought that came to my mind is one of my favorite TV shows 'The Walking Dead".  The majority of that show takes place in a forest setting.  The forest is portrayed in all sorts of way on this show.  It's a place of both peace & fear.  It's basically become the primary makeshift home for all of the characters on the show as they wander an apocalypse ridden land.

I found a great photo of them online that shows a couple of the primary characters walking aimlessly through the forest--so I took that photo plus this challenge to make an homage to one of my favorite shows.

Here's the fabulous inspiration board for this month's challenge.

I kept the overall color scheme of the tag in the earth tone family.  I've used embellishments from the 'Nature Walk' collection by 7 Dots Studio to further dress up my tag.

I have a bag of dried moss in my stash that added the perfect touch to this tag--I tucked a few strands of this moss behind my burlap flower & pine cone.

Thanks for stopping by.  Now onto this month's prizes...

Bloom Tag by Dana Tatar

Hi! Dana here today sharing my take on Mandy's Spring Fling Mood Board. I used vintage fabric, postcards and digital images from Zeus and Zoe along with a fresh mix of flowers, 7 Dots Studio Hopefully patterned papers, colorful ribbon and a butterfly from fellow designers Kay's Etsy Shop to created this layered tag that I can't wait to attach to a Mother's Day gift.

I cut the gold embossed yellow roses and leaves that are tucked into my flower clusters from a vintage post card that came in my Zeus and Zoe kit.

Here's a closer look at Kay's beautiful butterfly. If you haven't been to her shop it is a must see with gorgeous butterflies in a rainbow of colors.

July Challenge - Anything Goes!

Hi Berry71Bleu fans! Dana here today sharing the July Challenge with you. I'm thrilled to be joining the Berry71Bleu Design Team and to be hosting the July Challenge! The theme this month is "Anything Goes," which means we want to see what YOU feel like creating. Get creative and link up your project here before the end of the month for your chance to win!

Also, Berry71Bleu is sponsoring CSI: Color, Stories, Inspiration this month! The Berry71Bleu Team will be Guest Detectives for CSI for the month of July. We'll be sharing our layouts here after they go live on the CSI site each week. Join us for any one of the weekly CSI Challenges for a chance to win a $35 Gift Certificate to the Zeus and Zoe Etsy Shop!

I used CSI Case File #79 as the inspiration for my patriotic page. I had a lot of fun gathering evidence for this case! I included many of the items on a tag, which I used as an embellishment on my layout. The evidence I have gathered is flowers, leaves, pinwheels, flourishes, stripes, gingham, polka dots, ribbon and a transparent bracket. I chose to document my July 4th celebration from last year. My girls loved the sparklers and the small amateur fireworks show that we put on in the backyard!

I used the gorgeous Decorative Chateau Gate Die Set and the matching Grand Portal Stamps from Heartfelt Creations to create the frame around the image on my tag. Instead of using the die-cuts as windows I trimmed and pieced them together to create an ornate frame. I added some Scrapiniec Die-Cut Chipboard along the bottom of my tag.

Heartfelt Creations is the main sponsor for this month!

Heartfelt Creations® is a leading Rubber Stamp & Scrapbook manufacturer for the craft industry. Heartfelt Creations was established in 1997 as Golden Rule Supply manufacturing Rubber Stamps. In January 2006 Golden Rule Supply became Heartfelt Creations.

Heartfelt Creations provides a unique line of artistic stamps, detailed dies and designer papers. Many of our stamps coordinate with our exclusive Spellbinders™ dies. The innovation of our stamps paired with matching dies offers a whole new dimension of possibilities and quickly adds eye-popping 3D depth to any project. Our designer papers are designed to coordinate with our product collections adding the perfect complement to any Heartfelt Creations stamp or die.

The Inspiration
Linda the founder and CEO of Heartfelt Creations describes it as the 'AHH HA' moment when she picked up her first stamp to show her kids how to use it. At that moment she realized that she had discovered something amazing. With that a dream was born to offer the same creative delight to people around the world that she felt when she picked up a stamp for the first time.

June Guest Designer - Dana Tatar

Hi! My name is Dana Tatar and I am a stay-at-home mom currently living in Florida with my husband and two young daughters. I started scrapbooking to preserve memories after the birth of my first daughter and now I enjoy the creative outlet. I love to mix products from different collections on my projects and I frequently find inspiration in music, poetry and pop culture. I'm an active blogger and I like to share my tips and ideas. I create a little of everything, including layouts, cards, tags, artist trading cards, arches and small gift and home decor items.

I am so excited to be a Guest Designer for Berry71Bleu this month! I'm currently a designer for Marivic's sister site, Zeus and Zoe. I love visitors, so please stop by my blog, They Call Me Tatar Salad!

I've created two projects to share today, a layout and a tag. The wonderful products from the sponsors for this month, 7 Dots Studios and Jacquard, were just too fun to work with to stop at one piece!

Marylin's Challenge for this month is all about documenting your favorite Summer activities. I'm always up for a trip to the beach! The fabulous white sand beaches of Florida are absolutely breathtaking year round. I created this page with the 7 Dots Studios Dreamer Collection and some watercolor paint that I mixed up with Jacquard Pearl Ex Powdered Pigments.

I love to use stickers on my projects! The 7 Dots Studios Dreamer Stickers matched my paint perfectly!

I added some fun texture to this page with fishing net, cheese cloth, molding paste, masking tape and some of my favorite beach finds, starfish and shells. The fun heart charm and seashell key (shown above) came in my Zeus and Zoe Kit. If you're looking for a fabulous kit packed with vintage items that is truly one-of-a-kind, email Marivic or stop by the Zeus and Zoe Etsy Shop and check out the NEW Mini Collection Embellishment Project Kits.

If you haven't worked with Pearl Ex Powdered Pigments before, the brilliant shine is fabulous in real life! The shimmer reminds me of the opalescent finish found on oyster shells, the perfect look for a beach themed layout!

I also created this beach themed tag with products from 7 Dots Studios and Jacquard and I'm going to share my step-by-step process!

Step 1. Build up layers of texture on a shipping tag with crepe paper, cheese cloth and masking tape. Note: Don't think too hard during this step! Apply pieces of different materials randomly until the tag is covered.

Step 2. For even more texture and dimension, add a fun design with Jacquard Lumiere 3D Dimensional Metallic Paint & Adhesive to the tag and set aside to dry.

Step 3. Cover the tag with a light coat of gesso and let dry.

Step 4. Mix up several colors of paint using equal parts liquid gum arabic (binder) and Pearl Ex Powdered Pigment and a small amount of water. Note: I used Duo Violet-Brass (693) and Duo Green-Purple (692) Pearl Ex Pigment Powder. If you are using powdered gum arabic, combine 1 part gum arabic to 4 parts powdered pigment. To test the solution, paint a small area on a piece of paper and allow it to dry. If the pigment doesn't rub off when dry, then you have a usable paint. If the pigment does rub off, add more binder.

Step 5. Add some gold highlights and let dry. Note: I used Sparkle Gold (657) Pearl Ex Pigment Powder that I mixed using the same ratio of ingredients as mentioned in the previous step.

Step 6. Paint over the 3D pattern from Step 2 with gold alcohol ink. Once dry, embellish the tag to finish. Note: I used Jacquard Pinata Color in Rich Gold.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope I have inspired you! If you have any questions about the techniques I used on my projects, leave a note in the comments section of this post or send me an email and I'll do my best to answer them. Also, I'd love to have you stop by the Zeus and Zoe Blog and link up a project for the June Favorite Things Challenge!
