April Showers-May Flowers

This is my last week to be guest designer for Crazy4Challenges. Thank you, Joanne, for asking me and thanks to the rest of the girls for letting me join them for the month of April.

This week's challenge, C4C233,  is Rain Showers. Knowing that April showers bring May flowers, Joanne wants us to show both on our cards.

I'm using a La Blanche meadow stamp and a Rubber Hedgehog raindrops image. The sentiment is from Mark's Finest Papers and Stamps, Blessings.

I love the curved borders. This one is Spellbinders Borderabilities Curved Borders Two.  I used an unknown yellow cardstock behind it.

The image is colored with Copics.

That's it! Hope you all have a wonderful, warm, sunny weekend. You can find me working in my yard this weekend.  I hope to get some flowers planted.

A Spring Day-CCEE Stampers

This may be my last post for a few days. Look for my next card on Monday. I was looking forward to a visit with my son, dil, and little one but now I have allergies so bad I don't think I'll enjoy much.
I notice some leaves coming on some trees so I suppose that is the culprit. The things we love can make us so miserable for a while, unfortunately.

The CCEE Stampers are making Spring cards this week and hoping you'll hop over and  join us. Joanne asked that we stamp or create a Spring scene.  Spring and Easter go together as far as I'm concerned so I went along with both. You know this looks like a Spring day, right? :-)  My card consists mostly of punches, die cuts, and a sentiment so it is really easy. I did sponge some clouds and do some paper piecing on the birdhouse and eggs.

I love this branch and it can be used for so many occasions. The last time I used it was to make a Valentine card for my hubby. This time I used it to hang my birdhouse and to let my bird perch.

My recipe:
Stamps: Mark's Finest Papers, A Heinrich Company set-Blessings (sentiment)
Paper: MFP, A Heinrich Company-Breezy Blue cardstock, gingham check is unknown from local scrapbook store
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, VersaMagic chalk ink-Sea Breeze
Accessories: Memory Box Woodland Branch, QuicKutz bird die, Martha Stewart sitting bunny punch, Martha Stewart Easter Egg Basket punch (eggs), Martha Stewart grass edge punch, black pearl for bird's eye

Sail the Seas

Good Morning! We had such gorgeous weather a week or so ago and for several days now it has been DREARY. But, the weekend should be pretty and that means hubby and I can work in the yard.

Just want to mention, very soon I will be posting blog candy. It will be to celebrate Spring..so be watching for that...probably this week.  Stay tuned!

The CAS112 on Splitcoasterstampers is to do 'cut up sentiments'. It took me a while to do something I really liked but finally thought of something I was happy with..by adding the dp behind the sentiment instead of just placing it on the card randomly.

I'm using a $1 stamp from Jo Ann Stores bin...and, I really love it. Makes a wonderful clean and simple card.
Colored just a bit with my Copics, added some twine and my sentiment, and did some scoring...and that's it! I'm entering several Spring challenges and what says Spring better than to go sailing.

I am entering these challenges:
Wee Memories #42-Anything Goes
Stamp Something-Spring
Creative Craft Friends #21-Spring
Kaboodle Doodles Challenge #60-Spring has Sprung

Recipe:
Stamps: Studio112 for image, Mark's Finest Papers-Our Family Tree (sentiment)
Paper: PTI white cardstock, blue check from LSS (no name)
Ink: Stampin'Up! Night of Navy
Accessories: red and white twine, Copics, Scor-Pal, Martha Stewart Score Board

Dilapidated Birdhouses

I'm using the colors from The Play Date Cafe challenge #70. And, what bright, cheerful colors they are!!

I watercolored my houses and had a bit of a time trying to get the green. Every time I took a picture, it turned yellow. Went back and tweaked the watercoloring and I hope it is close enough. I painted the birdhouses as if they were worn and in need of a paint job. I really love this stamp and haven't used it in a while.

I used my new Spellbinder's Decorative Window Scene die cut (exclusive to Heartfelt Creations)  and removed  the window panes for this one.
I cut my birdhouses away from the sentiment which encircled the card and barely painted the wood and trees with a sandy color. My leaves are from Kraft paper .
No, I did not make the zipper flower I used, although I have seen a tutorial showing how to make it. I was in Wal-Mart looking at ribbon one day and just a bit down the aisle, there it was. I rather like it.

I distressed my paper with a Distressed embossing folder to match the old birdhouses.

I'm entering this card into these challenges:
Crazy4Challenges C4C76-With Spring coming, they want flowers (well, I have one and it's rather large so just count it as two or more. LOL)
Fussy and Fancy-Embossing and /or paper piecing (I dry embossed my paper and frame).
Paper Cutz Challenge #80-Spring (I think my cards SAYS spring all over)

Recipe:
Stamps: Art Impressions (no name)
Paper: PTI white cardstock, unknown dp given to me, Stampin'Up! Kraft, Canson watercolor paper
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories: Spellbinders Decorative Window Scene die made exclusively for Heartfelt Creations, Tombows, watercolor brush, zipper flower, Sizzix branches with leaves, Cuttlebug Distressed embossing folder
