Remembering Summer!

Hello everyone!
Today I am here to share some summer themed cards with you made using the fantastic Happy Days and sparkly Dancette collections.

Products Used :

If you hadn't guessed already I am a huge fan of circles and use them pretty much in everything I create so I couldn't resist making one of the cards round shape.

On this card I used the Happy Days clear stamps to stamp around the edge of a die cut circle to create a border and then had fun colouring them in to coordinate with the flowers.

This next card features a favourite in our family's summer trips ... the trusted ice cream!
I used the 'bunting' shapes in the Happy Days die cut pack as ice cream cones and added punched circles as the ice cream behind them,

The last card here is just a mixture of the wonderful Dancette, it is just a glitter overload and for those that love glitter then this is the paper you need!!

This is a shadow die set from Xcut and I cut out each stage in a few of the Dancette papers.  The funfair comes to life and sparkles as you assemble it together.

I hope you have enjoyed these summer memories

Mixing Old and New Ruby Rock-It!

With all the lovely new ranges from Ruby Rock-It that were released at CHA show this winter we mustn't forget all the older ranges and today I am here to share with you a few cards mixing the new Rustic Charm range and the Bella! Fusion paperz.

For this card I used the green fusion paperz as the backing paper.  I love the way that it picks up the glittery green bird on the 3D stickers in the Rustic Charm collection.

Even though the Rustic Charm is one of the wedding ranges it can be used for any occasions.  I used the rose backing papers to create feminine feel for this birthday card.

The last card is using the purple Bella! Fusion Paperz and the Fundamentals Vellum to create this Valentines card.

Mixing papers from different collections is really not that difficult. You just need to pick out the colours in the papers that compliment each other.

I hope you are inspired to giving mixing your collections a go.

Ruby Rock-It Countdown To Christmas Part 1

Good morning everyone I hope you are beginning to feel festive with the Countdown to Christmas!
Today I have a little way of jazzing up your fairy lights and if you are anything like me you probably have loads!!

NB : I understand that the LED lights are better to use and these should never be left unattended!

These little boxes are soooo easy to make.  Just take a square of paper, do a little bit of folding here and there and voila ... paper lanterns !!

You can find how to make these little water bombs (yes that is what they are called) {HERE}

I used 4 x 4 inch paper and made these, you can choose what ever size you like but do remember that the smaller the paper the more difficult it will be to fold it.  I was tickled by the way you blew into it and it just popped out into the box.

When the box was made up I decorated each of the fronts with some of the 25 Days of Christmas Border Stickers and some punched holly leaves from the paper.

To attach them to the lights you just gently push each bulb into the wee hole and wait till it's dark enough to turn them on to see you handy work.

Here are a couple of photos of them lit up (sorry they are not the best pics!!)

Wedding Crackers

The summer season brings lots of weddings and today I thought I would share a little idea that could be used as favours for the guests.  I have this amazing die from Xcut which is a cracker and along with the Bella 'My Romance' Wedding range it is just perfect for creating these non Christmas crackers.

Once I made the crackers up and filled them with goodies.  I tied them with some ribbon and then made some toppers to go on each of them.

I used the spellbinders scallop and circle dies for the base of the toppers and then added some of the Bella! wedding embellishments to finish them, the little 'Bride and Groom' toppers are in the die-cut pack.
I pierced some holes around the edge.

The Bella! My Romance collection is a soft pink and blue palette but of course these would look amazing in the other Bella! Wedding ranges which can be seen on the Ruby Rock-It website.

DCM - June Colour Palette

The new dare is up over on the Daring Cardmakers blog and it's colour palette week.
Kathy chose this beauty with hues of purples and a splash of black and dared us (and you) to create a card using it as inspiration.

Here is the card I made

This is my favourite stamp at the moment and is 'Dancin Mae' from Some Odd Girl.  It really sums me up really!! I decided to colour (not well) Mae in purples and greys and used a mix of Promarkers and Kurecolor pens to do this.  The lilac card really makes the image pop and I just love the Spellbinder Nestabilities Lacy Circles die to mat it on.

The flowers down the side are the Jewel Flowers and Flourishes Cut - Emboss - Stencil dies from Spellbinders and I have been able to use them in my Xcut Xpress machine with the tan mat so I have edges are embossed.

I have found that you need to set the dial on the Xcut Xpress machine to 5 - 5.5 and then run it through again with the tan mat on top.  The beauty of the Xpress machine is that it can be tweaked ever so slightly to get the perfect cut/emboss!

The papers behind are from one of Ruby Rock-it's older wedding releases, Two Hearts Flourish but are still fantastic to use.  I often get asked too which ink I have used so here I have used the Brilliance Black ink and clear embossing powder.

The rest of the Dare Cardmakers DT have made some beauties too so please do head on over and take a look!

Have a wonderful day!

Supreme Scrap Tournament Challenge 2

Tonight I have been busy creating my layout for this weeks SST challenge and this week it's .....

MONOCHROMATIC

Again we were to make a double layout but we were to use a monochromatic colour scheme.  There was to be a minimum of one photo and one of the photos had to be split on to each page.  One of the photos also needed to be in black and white but NO black was to be used on the layout at all!

So I went BLUE

Products Used : Coredinations, Ruby Rock-It, Papermania, Xcut, Doodlebug

I really enjoyed making this layout and even though I cut the photo in half right through my DD's face I loved how it turned out.

The different shades of blues really enhanced the moody but adorable look on her face.

I am looking forward to seeing all the creations the other ladies have created this week.

Remembering Australia

It is amazing how time flies and while looking through photos (after delving into my crop in style) I came across ones from our trip to Australia.  They sure did make me smile as well as tug on the heart strings to see the little people over there.

I made this layout using one of my favourite pictures from the trip

Product Used : Imaginisce ~ Wild Thing Collection, I-Rock Tool, Xcut Circle Cutter

She was so excited that these beautiful colourful birds would come and sit on her arm to feed but she wasn't too keen on the one that decided to perch on her head!

These papers are so bright and cheerful and reminded me of that day, I just can't wait until we can head back again and see them and their chitter chatter!

Well must dash as my crafty list is getting shorter but there is still more to do!

Daring Cardmakers Birthday - Week One

Good morning, {Daring Cardmakers Blog} is celebration 7 years of challenges all this month with lots of fun challenges!

Last week {Do Crafts} sponsored the challenge by sending the DT two of their awesome border punches for us to use in in the challenge.  Here was the colour inspiration ......

Here is what I came up with, a Birthday Card, using the Xcut Ribbon Border Punch

I just used the border punch in different coloured card and then layered it on to a white card blank.  The little polka dot buttons added some texture to the card.

This Christmas card is made using the Xcut Poinsettia Border Punch

This time I punched the border in white card stock and then added it too the strips of colour before cutting out a circular shape.  They made really cute Christmas Baubles.

The rest of the {DT's creations} are fabulous so do head on over to the blog to take a look.
Do Crafts and the Ribbon Girl have offered a prize over on there too :)

Have a great day!

Rosettes Galore

Well it's Friday and time for the new dare over on the {Daring Cardmakers} blog and this week is all about Rosettes.

I used the new Xcut Xpress from Do Crafts.  I am loving it! So far it has easily die-cut through all the things I have thrown at it to cut out.  The Xcut Doily die was the one thing that made me hold my breathe while I set the dial to the right setting, put together the sandwich and watch it feed through ... was it going to cut out ALL the bits!??  And it did ... happy day!

Before I go I want to share with you something that is coming up on the {Daring Cardmakers} blog to celebrate it's 7th Birthday ....

Hope you can join us and join in the fun!
Have a good day

Daring Cardmakers - Harvest

Hello!  Today is the new dare reveal on the Daring Cardmakers blog and this week the dare has a harvest theme!

I have to admit I love this time of year with all the trees starting to change colours and of course the autumnal smells like cinnamon and I am awaiting Starbucks to bring back their Pumpkin Spice Latte .... Mmmmm :)

So here is the card that I made for the dare

I used the Simple Life papers from My Little Shoebox, just love the bold designs and colours.  The leaves are a punch from Xcut which was out a while back.

Please do pop over to the {DCM blog} and see what the other DT members have created

Enjoy the rest of the day!

Did you know??

That Kuretake have some very pretty {Japeanese Paper sets} perfect for scrapbooking ?

I have been lucky to have been sent some to create with and here is what I came up with ....

The papers have a real silky feeling to them and when ripped (cause you all know how much I like to rip paper) give a really soft effect to the page.  As you can see it also die-cuts beautifully, I used the {Xcut petal posy die} for the flowers.

The backing is made by 'splatting' some of the {Kurecolor inks} all over the place .... very messy but heaps of fun!!

And I mustn't forget to share these AMAZING new wink of stella BRUSHES!  They are just the business for adding a delicate glittery effect to projects!  I would certainly recommend them!  You can buy the {HERE} in the Kuretake Shop.

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by

Pretty Butterfly!

Helloooo!  Wow what a beautiful day!  The sun is shinning and it makes everything GOOD!!

Today I am popping on here to share with you my card I made for the dare 'Fly Fly Butterfly' over on the Daring Cardmakers Blog.

I have used my favourite birdcage die from Xcut along with the Xcut build a butterfly one.   I cut the birdcage in some glittery card so it had a little shimmer to it.

I also created some little flowers to go along the top of the birdcage for a bit of depth and to make them look pretty!  I am a little bit addicted to making these flowers.

The papers are the FREE downloads this week in the {Do Crafts Creativity Club!}  Are you a member?  If so have you downloaded them and created with them too!  They are really pretty and I love the mix of colours.

Please do stop by the {Daring Cardmakers Blog} and see all the other DT's take on the theme this week and maybe create a card too :)

Enjoy the rest of the day!
