Blogtoberfest Day 29

I saw on an SBS ad last week that this is starting tomorrow night;

I only came to know about these shows a few years ago, I didn't hear much about them growing up- but then, I was never into doco's much as a kid or teenager! Adulthood does cool things to you sometimes.

The benefit of coming to them late was not having to wait 7 yrs to see what's happened next! There are a few people on their I really like, and hope they are doing OK, others that bug me a bit, but that's what fascinating about it, I think!

I re watched a bit of 42UP last night, and all of 49UP today (they do a lot of flashbacks, so you don't necessarily have to watch the whole series to pick it up, in my opinion.)

I have a general fascination with reality TV, I know there are lovers and haters of it, but I think some modern reality shows are loosely based on the impact a really good documentary has on you. This series has me thinking a lot about my own life, like if I was followed around every 7 yrs where I would be, what have I achieved etc. And the fact these kids were put forward by the school, they had no choice in the matter of being on the program, they wouldn't have known the impact on the kids back then etc.

As I said, fascinating.

What docos/programs fascinate you?

2011

Happy New Year!
I've been a bit remiss in the Xmas/New Year posts, I never know quite what to say.
No-one wants to come and join my pity party, and there's really no need for it, with all the good things going on in my life at the moment (and so much worse for others).

So we have had a quiet week, hanging out and not doing much, no stress, a bit of sewing, and a room reno (pics later).

 Yay, I took a great photo with my new camera!

There's been a bit of op shopping, and couldn't resist this (disgusting) top!

It's now chopped and added to the stash!!

So I haven't done it before, but I thought I'd write a list. Inspired by all my favourite bloggers, of course (too many to name).
  • no relapse of depression for this year
  • enjoy the challenge of (nearly) full time work
  • getting out socially at least once a week
  • find a craft group that potentially will become the last point!
  • try to feel a little bit proud of what I've achieved and have
  • EXERCISE! (ain't getting any younger)
and I have the right to change or add to this at any time!

I wish you all the best in life and crafting for 2011!

Testing, testing.....

Ok, there is something weird going on with blogger, it's refused for 2 days now to let me post any pics of the quilts I finished for Cam.
So some pics of what I've been doing, actually, random shots to see if this post works!
baking cookies (and eating them);

playing tag with the Venus cat trap;

and funny notes again on the child's door. Oh, I knock or just come in and wait?
What good options!

Good stuff

This week has had lots of good things, despite what the other posts seem to say!

Here's a shot of my little one off to a b'day party and later a sleepover last weekend- such a natural pose- NOT! The roses are such hard work- no, haven't done a thing to them, they came with the house!

So, so pretty, they have all opened up now, they may be bald for months, so I'll enjoy them while I can.

There's been a bit of op shopping, a bit too much to show, but I lurve this retro basketball tee shirt, 70's looking tag inside, can't wait to wear it.

Cam came over for a coffee and dye job, she gifted me these great cups, I am slowly perfecting the art of making a good coffee (I'll be keeping her in coffee for life after the great gift she gave me- hey, maybe the cups were for her, she didn't like my other ones heehee).

(The pattern is one of the tops I want to make).

And bruises- a head clash at the school holiday program nearly ended in tears- she wouldn't let them ring me as she didn't want to be taken home and miss out on the Easter Egg hunt! A true chocoholic! Arnica and a cold washer were needed before bedtime.

So, my busy week has ended, I managed to kill the vacuum cleaner as well, so today (Good Friday) is full of religious expletives as everything is shut and I can't get my vacuum repaired/coffee machine fixed/sewing cabinet key for Statewide etc etc etc.

Happy Easter!
