Blogtoberfest 12 day 1

I thought I'd ease in with some long lost sewing for the child. She getting a real idea about what she wears, which I like (warning, leggings AS pants are shown below) so she has rebuffed my offers lately.

But I found this pattern and thought it may appeal her, thank goodness it did!

I used a remnant from Rathdowne Fabrics, pretty sure it's for swimsuits but it's cotton Lycra, with a metallic stripe as well. It took about 2 hrs all up to make, and she's requested another one, plus a top or dress from the pattern as well. As it goes up to 16 she may have a few years worth of these haha.

She loved it! Yay!

An awesome day!

I've been anxiously waiting for this day to come....

and a hell of a lot of lollies!

The class was HEAPS of fun, great people and kids, and they all finished a toy (better than some adults Jodie said...)

lots of incentives (and distractions) to stop the kiddies from getting bored...

 little prompts to remind the kids about their softie making;

lunch; gosh, have to add a few pics of that! The class included ANYTHING off
the amazing menu! Plus coffees, drinks and afternoon tea!

then back to it!

And at the end of the day there were 5 finished pups! From left to right;

 Dottie, Spottie, Raspberry, Kevin, and Sally!

(3 mums and 1 Nanna were the assistants)

And my daughter's badge for Jodie says it all......

'Jodie rules'

What a fabulous day!

(and more on Millrose in the next post.....)

hat time

We're still hanging out with my friend this week, they leave tomorrow! But we've snuck in visits when we can, and today met up and had lunch with the kids, and a big outing to the park.

The kid's bought their hats I made them for Xmas pressies. They got 2 comments in the hotel lobby! (positive, of course!)

The barely took them off, and the Dino one is a BIG hit! For a busy 2.5yr to run around all day and not take it off must mean it's pretty comfy!

Better give them some business cards to hand out! (email orders welcome, of course!)

Blogtoberfest '10 day 22

I've had my work cut out for me today.
Babysitting 2 boys, 4 and 6, and my little miss. Tricky, you ask?
No way, easy peasy.
Except when I had to follow them up what I refer to as 'Death Hill'

 Named this because I feel like death when I reach the top!
A park at the top, and this one on the walk home makes it all worthwhile- me to sit
and watch, them to tire themselves out!

I'm loving the fact that the kid is wearing my knitting needle bangles
I made last night, think she'll keep them.

Think I've earned some sewing time now!
