blogtoberfest day 26

After a busy day of work, I stopped in to see some friends at a new shop.

oooh, these friends would look lovely on one of my walls....

It's a great spot, near lots of shops, cafes and general good stuff.

Look who I bumped into! Luckily Liz had her camera (still having issues) so we got a quick snap. My new Ikea skirt got a look in, too! (well, I was wearing it. That would have been odd!)

head over here to find out more!

Crafty catch up Pt 2

On Wednesday night I headed out to NCB too see some crafty peeps, and give over my end of the bargain....

and phew, she liked it!

It was filled up and used straight away, a lovely compliment!

Karen was making some cool little chicks, that Brianna was sneakily trying to coax into her hexie tin...

they were pecking away, not noticing the yummy cakes being devoured around them!

and to all those peeps who think I buy a lot of fabric- this was given to me from the naughty Cindy; I gave her some pink chenille (which I also have coming out of my ears) and was given some 'scraps', all of which are usable!

oh, I did manage a bit of crafting in too....

I got busy with those scraps over the weekend.....

and one for my little sis

PS The pink one for the kid may be up for grabs....she doesn't like some of the fabrics! Doh!

Finally Friday

Another warm one here in Melb, so inside pottering about. Murray had his visit to the groomers yesterday, the little pricklebum, and he has come back cutie-patootie! They actually left more fur than I though they would! He seems a bit happier, anyway.

In my trekking yesterday, I found this shop that was pretty much selling everything up to 90% off! I was on my way to get some fabric to make a dress to wear to a wedding on Monday night (wow, that was a long sentence!) when I came across this.....$200 reduced to $19! I would have already failed an Ethical Pledge, I had to have it and I love it! Now to sort out shoes....
I booked my babysitter last night, which was a big treat for the girl as she got to stay up late, and as my treat went to Perle 8's. Andi, Cindy and I chatted away, and Andi helped me come up with the backing for my quilt. It looks great, is a bit big but all together it is exactly how I wanted it. Thanks Andi!

Handmade goodies everywhere lately, here is Little Miss's effort from last week, a little giraffe from a kit I bought her for her birthday. This is the stuffing, adding it's heart and making wished stage.....awwww!

Speaking of awwww, check out Betty Jo and Lark for the latest tip- hot off the press...fox is the new owl.

Let's talk about swaps, baby.......

I can finally reveal the bag! It was given to it's owner today at the market, and she liked it!! It's a great pattern, from my favourite pattern maker. It caught someone else's eye, she just needs to find the embroidery panel.....

If you have a pretty piece you've been hanging onto, or a given one, or find one in an op shop, I'll happily reuse it as a masterpiece for you. Just send me an email to discuss. Get in quick!
I've also won something, well, two things, the first is this pack. Some beautiful fabric pieces, magazine and patterns, I feel very lucky!

Here is the second thing I won, which I'll stick under the tree to open at Xmas. I need all the help with presents this year I can get!!
The vintage sheet swap arrived the other day, and the goodies are gorgeous! Haven't doubled up, and there are prints I've never seen. Thanks, Serena! I can't beleive how many were produced.....Now to find the perfect project for them!

Oh, a peak at the lounge room. My bunting looks pretty good I think, doesn't match the retro decor at all, but Little Miss and I like it. I want to do another length for the opposite wall, for a bit of balance.

My Creative Space

Part 1 - a hat to be made for Little Miss's growing head; a bag to make as a thank you for a friend; and a gorgeous tapestry from Betty Jo to be made into a bag for her.

Part 2- a very hot, tired dog, who is in need of a trim.

Part 2- achieved! Yes, they are the same dog, unless an impostor can be trained in 3 hrs to answer to "Murray". Freaky, isn't it? I love his thick, woolly coat, but he sure doesn't!

And the hat was made. Hmm. She has trouble seeing. Think I'll go back and make it with a medium brim.

Head over here to see more spaces. Thanks, Kirsty!
