As promised!

Wow, nearly forgot! But I'm sure I can a whole week, and have my blog-jo back at the moment anyway!

Last nights I made the girl a new school hat. I'm sick of official school hats that don't even cover their faces! The only problem was trying it on....actually, no problem at all. Deep sleep is so much fun! My gorgeous child asked for some business cards to take to school this morning, she's getting used to being asked where she gets things from! Aren't I lucky?

And my new tunic is ready, I'm likely to be wearing it Saturday (I say likely as it still needs buttons and buttonholes. Grrr).

And tonight's feature 'beccasauras' product? My pencil rolls! Now, I can't take credit for these, my pattern was originally from Pink Chalk Studios and was found in this book. I've  (i even asked for permission to make them and sell!)

Another great shot and luv-er-ly place to get them is here. I'm about to make a big fresh batch, so if you'd like to order one with your choice of outside fabric, give me a holler!

My Creative Space

I'm playing along again this week, as I have some new projects to show off.
I have a bag to repair for a friend, and am making myself a new frock/ Liverpool tunic
for the market next week!

And I forgot to add the extra pic to my last post- the finished mermaid Ice Cream top- yep, upside down, as per bloody usual! That'll be a freebie for sure!

Head over here to see more spaces!

A pattern catastrophe

Today I made what I think was the most confusing pattern I've ever tried! It's the apron overlay from Amy Butler's Barcelona Skirts pattern. I've made a few Amy Butler patterns, and loved them, but I think it was me, basically everything in this skirt, was done twice! The tie has interfacing- a mistake, which makes it stick up a bit, like a tail. I had skipped stitches etc. Not the best fun to make, and it probably was just me, I'll definitely try it again to be sure. Has anyone else made this? And can 'give me the light' so to speak?

Anyway, after reading this post this post, I popped over to visit my buddy and help pass the time. The best thing about her being sick and in hospital? She's about 5 mins from my house! So I saw her Tues, Wed, think I skipped Thurs, no wait, had coffee that day, ?Fri, def Sat, and Sunday too. Now you understand why she wants to go home, right?

She became chief photographer for this troublesome (but cute) skirt. It does remind me a bit of a hospital gown (I'll let you guess why)

yep, it's reversible;

peek-a-boo;
OK, we were playing silly buggers and thought we were a bit funny;
Little Miss is happy as long as she gets the TV remote and half the bed; Cam and I can sit and knit anywhere!
l
Hope you're home tomorrow, matey, and that we helped cheer up your bothering stay!

Day 13 Blogtoberfest

Did a bit of sewing today in between naps (I'm sick, remember?). This is my attempt at a Lazy Day skirt for today- the doilies were meticulously attached, only for the machine to go spazzo when I was doing the casing! Big skipped stitches- I tried every remedy the book said, I think my machine didn't like my design :(

So I put it down and finished off my Anna mini-dress. (in this Amy Butler fabric range).

I have made this as a tunic, but the flower wasn't made- this time it will not beat me!!
My favourite part is the back of the yoke, where four little buttons will soon go (once my butt hits the couch). So cute! (buttons, not my butt).
Hmm, now where to wear it?

Day 11 Blogtoberfest

I couldn't resist this shot of my sleeping baby- with her Babushka Baby
she scored at the market. It has now joined "Cubby" from Australia Zoo as her new best friend.
(She is normally allowed a pillowcase, I have just forgotten for a week or so to put one on)

A big stash has been moved into the lounge room, in preparation for 'Fabric Utopia'

which will occur in this hallway. Watch this space.....
I hope to have it done for Saturday- I'm having a little Crafternoon at my joint (it might just be sitting around a big stash of fabric, though). Bloggers meeting bloggers and eating and crafting- if this sounds like your cup of tea (that will be supplied, but you may need to make you own if I'm busy chatting) email me for further instructions.

Hopefully this new top will be finished, sick leave is for resting and Dr's visits, so some relaxing sewing is on the agenda today- with a nap, hopefully.
