Sunshine...moonlight...good times...boogie!

It's been busy, I've gone back a bit as I found some pics I forgot to post!
I have made a new lunch bag pattern, to fit the Nudie food movers, and the Tupperware long lunch box. I have heard the Nudie one's break quickly, but the kid still wanted to be the same as the other kids, so I'll wait and see...

I made a lemon meringue pie last week for a catch up, and this week as well, when I headed over to Tinniegirl's today. Twice I forgot to take a pic before I cut into it! Here's an action shot....

I have semi- caught up on the BOM from Amitie. I have a few blocks to do at S.I.T....

I gave away another pressie today, making me all happy and smiley. Can't wait to see it on it's bed! My 2 favorite bloggy friends have a little bit of me to say thanks for being there for me!

I made myself a slouch bag yesterday, I had to try it, and I do declare it fabulous!

I co ordinated it all around the zip, seriously.

And found the perfect pocket fabric. I forgot about another slouch bag I got to fondle today...

The Little Miss and I picked this up at the oppy yesterday, and she sure does wear it well. I'm wanting to make her a couple, anyone know of a pattern for this style? Thanks in advance!

And a reminder to love yourself a bit tomorrow! I used to get very depressed I never got spoilt on Valentine's Day (none good enough to remember, that is) but now I see it as a chance to spoil myself, and not have to buy a gift and exchange it for a potentially crap one! Silver linings, peeps...

Few, that'll do me, I think! Have a happy crafting week everyone!

Market wrap-up

The day began...rainy and overcast, but still fun enough to get out of bed at a ridiculous hour! The drive up to Daylesford was uneventful, except for a bad coffee choice around the corner from home (should have made my own) and this van full of....goats? Is this even legal? The white heart shape in the bottom right hand corner of the back window is a....BUM! A goat's bum, thank you very much. Weird!

So myself and my partners- in- crime were put in the corner...or as we liked to call it, the
 'back of the bus!"

I managed shots of Cam's stall;

her spunky fabric- drawn, coloured, printed and folded by her! (Well, ok, not printed, but near enough, lets just say 'birthed' by her)

My editing has deleted my shot of Tinniegirl's stall, and if I didn't want to bash the computer, I'd start all over again; instead, see a better photo here. There is also a better photo of my stall there; this is my best shot. Popular were my vintage skirt and zip purses.

The best bits were the b'day pressie and the swapping!

And of course the Lark warehouse sale!

Tonight I did a bit of re-decorating...3 hooks were already there when I moved in, I just needed to right art (sounds very upper class of me, doesn't it?) I'm glad I waited. The colours go well, and they all mean something special. The middle one was done last year for my birthday, and the other 2 are this year's card and print of my favourite painting. Thanks, Cathy!

And remember these bags? I feel so lucky to be using the one the left (butterfly) one, as it was swapped and has come to be my new bag! Not that the one on the right wasn't perfect, too....but the green I love. To you crazy people who didn't buy it yesterday- mwah mwah mwah, it's awesome!

sew a long

The next few weeks I'm joining in here and here for this- yum, did someone say Ice-cream?
I had no say in the fabric- Little Miss chose if herself, leaving me to be creative with making it to the right size with scraps for the bottom! Good thing it's OFMK!

I'm heading over here on Thursday night, all going according to plan (ie babysitting). Check out these creative shots to have a giggle now, so we can be all serious on the big night (not!)

Better go and make a frock to wear!

Gotta love a party

Yesterday was one of those really cool days- market, b'day lunch and vintage finds! Throw in some cake, and serious S&B, and what a perfect balmy Saturday!

Here were my scores....great earrings that matched my turquoise jacket, and will also look great with purple

and heading back to Cathy's for cake and coffee bought me this loot- literally, they were for sale, and on my wish list!

I started the new Dortje pants, and cute out the patterns for the next items. My free big roll of pink paper has come into play- perfect for adding seam allowances. It isn't thick enough to use with a rotary cutter, but I can hang them- perfect when I want to make lots of them!

A little suprise came in the post this week- Eleesa sent me this gorgeous pin cushion, so well stuffed!!! Vintage tea towel, button and I'm in heaven!

Last but not least- bare bulbs are covered, a trip to Bunnings with a lighting expert friend (me ole neighbour Wal) and we have shades! A bit boring for me....what do you suggest?

A Day in the Car

We set off bright and early yesterday morning, off to this market I hadn't explored yet.

we bumped into friends, and found some new ones, and could have spent the whole day on High St, really, popping in and out of the shops. We had a few new goodies (I got to 'borrow' them)
and treated myself (in case I forget my name haha)

became a convert to the knitted washcloth (much prettier than what I can knit)

and did the box haul. We dropped in on Tinniegirl and Ms L with yummy cupcakes, and cleared them out!

The rest of the day was spent driving to the other side of town to drop Little Miss to a sleepover. I thought that driving around started in the teens? Like the attitude? Aren't I lucky she's so advanced? See my previous post for my treat to myself on the way home (Salvos).

A great day

Gosh, I've been busy telling everyone what a great birthday I had, but haven't blogged it yet! And have to publicly thank everyone who came and made it such a great day- don't remember one like it, or as much fun!
A crowd gathered- Thornberry, TinnieGirl, Curlypops, Hoppo Bumpo, Handmaiden, Cathie, and Ms L got into the crafting spirit....

and I even scored a birthday card and canvas painting off the Little Miss!

They provided a band (here hard at rehearsal...er, getting to know each other!)

food (lots and lots and all so yummy)

and such a good time we rolled home at 10pm! Exhausted but what a great way to feel! Thanks so much to our hostesses with the most-esses, and such a great bunch of friends!

and a little pic of my pressie from dad, stepmum and me- an Elk ring. Gorgeous.

Catching up

No matter how hard I tired, I couldn't get the camera to download pics this week, then tonight....bless it, it performed. So here is the summary of an op shopping and fabric buying week.

My new favourite dress.....it actually stays up because I can pull it across the top really tight, not like the elastic stretchy ones (I have cut this pic extra skinny to try and hide crap behind it- didn't work)

today I scored a few more 'snack' containers. I love these and use them for many things, have eneough to move them to craft room now. For $8 a bargain.

A funny bag, Modapelle brand, green is my fave at the moment, and a girl can't have too many handbags, right?

I popped into GJ's yesterday, where I was very restrained, I bought a new ruler as i'm not liking my 6" wide one, I like 6+1/2" better. And this pattern screamed 'house frock' or casual dress, I love it.

Also this week, my fabrics have arrived from the US, for the back of my quilt. I've fallen in love with black and white fabric, and all this cost me about $60. They are from here, here, and here
. I'm so happy as I got some Jennifer Paganelli Sis Boom about 3 yrs after the rest of the range, to tie in with the quilt top.

As the computer is slowing down terribly, I'll add a few more fabric pics later.
Tomorrow is the big b'day and thanks to all the b'day wishes, there are a lot of us Novemberians out there! I'm off to Tinniegirl's for Thornbury Craft Bonanza, yay! First I'll check out this market, stop by and say hi, or if you haven't been, now's a good time!
Must go and get some sugar, or we'll be cakeless tomorrow....

To market To market

Today was a fun day the the Yarraville Market, setting up my first market stall! Thanks to all the lovely bloggers I've met and chatted too since starting this blog, my confidence has soared and I was ready to get out there.
I went expecting to sell nothing but meet some people, and I was not disappointed, in fact, a few of my favourite fabrics (made into tees and quilts) are now in new homes.

We had a lovely neighbour, Kate who helped me out when food and nature called me and Little Miss.
This gorgeous card was bought, many others were too cute as well, Kasey has heaps of handmade cards and does Stampin Up! Workshops.

Kate sold Little Miss this cute card, which has been written in and given to me for being a great mum (awww!).

Little Miss has the class cheetah Alfie for the weekend, who came and helped out with Cubby, whom we adopted from Australia Zoo.

I'll be there next month, and hopefully a few after. Come and say hi, like Curlypops, Tinniegirl and Meg's Threads did. SewHum was there, as was Totally Innocent (fab organisation) and others I didn't get a chance to meet this time.
The first Sat of the month is proving busy, but make time for lots of cool handmade things, and yummy breakfasts and lunches. This blog may help you out, or pick your own. We'll see you there?
Oh, by the way, next Sunday is the first market for Thread Den- i'll be there, with heaps of others, undercover and all handmade! Yay!
