Crafty catch up Pt 2

On Wednesday night I headed out to NCB too see some crafty peeps, and give over my end of the bargain....

and phew, she liked it!

It was filled up and used straight away, a lovely compliment!

Karen was making some cool little chicks, that Brianna was sneakily trying to coax into her hexie tin...

they were pecking away, not noticing the yummy cakes being devoured around them!

and to all those peeps who think I buy a lot of fabric- this was given to me from the naughty Cindy; I gave her some pink chenille (which I also have coming out of my ears) and was given some 'scraps', all of which are usable!

oh, I did manage a bit of crafting in too....

I got busy with those scraps over the weekend.....

and one for my little sis

PS The pink one for the kid may be up for grabs....she doesn't like some of the fabrics! Doh!

If you haven't heard of it before....where have you been?? I joined in last year, and met heaps of new people.
Head over to Tinniegirl's blog tomorrow to sign up, and brace yourself for a really cool month!
You can get a head start on it tomorrow night at Chair 14....I can't make it, unfortunately, I soooo love the food, as well as the company! What a way to ring in the festivities!

Finally a post

Have been a bit blah this week, so haven't really had the energy to blog. The SAD has hit early (I've never been officially diagnosed, but I'm sure I've got it!) and just getting to work and back has taken up my time! But I managed to get out Thursday night, to NCB, and had a blast, such good medicine! I keep trying to take heaps of pics when I'm there, but I'm too busy- eating Chair 14's yummy food (roast pork- yum!)

and doing my 'slow craft'- 4ply wool and tiny needles makes this a bit slow!
But it's coming along.

This week we had Perle 8's join us, there was half a room full and LOTS of talking.
I also went to the movies- I saw SATC2, which is so funny- don't go for complicated plot lines, or wanting to come out and dissect it- go for fun And laughs and fashion and all the other good reasons you go to the flicks.
The cinema I go to also has a bookshop next door, open late, bad for book addicts, but good when I came home with this- a bit of work on my plain white cardi today, I think!
Hope everyone else is managing the cold snap ok!

Reviews

I had a lover-ly night out the other night at the NCB.
This little group is so much fun, there are some other good reviews here and here.
That's if you want to know about the craft.
I'm reviewing the food!
For my dinner, I didn't pass a McDonald's on the way, and am very glad I didn't, as I had the bangers and mash.

Anna had a burger, and the Cokes come in the glass bottle, the only way it should be drunk in my opinion. Does anyone like it in plastic? (Blurgh.)

The best bit was when they ask if you want mustard? Out comes the condiments- all written in German, but so yummy you want to squeeze the tube into your mouth and lick the top (like you would toothpaste if it were a bit tastier).

It's an awesome cafe, other great things include the ice coffee and mineral water, brownies etc. We have so far been the only ones there, I think, on a Thursday night.

Onto other things, here is the shirt I made my lawn fairy, Wal (everyone needs one of those, you come home and the lawns mowed, ace!). I think it's the first thing I've made with all the pattern going the right way, and big bonus for me! And we didn't lose him in the crowd at the festival. Although the Hawaiian themed choir wanted to give him a lei.....
And a parting shot of a naughty boy....Mum, I got caught in the rain!

My Creative Space

Wow, 4 days without posting and this is what I come up with? No craft, you think? Well, I have been TRYING to be good, getting organised and starting to pack. The need for organising the filing cabinet came on Monday, when applying for a loan meant time sheets, bank statements etc. And then I started downsizing and have a nice big basket to shred (when I find a shredder).
Can you spot the pattern and fabric in the middle of the pile? My little treat to myself when I finish the filing cabinet, I can make myself a top. We'll see if the bribe works :)

And a giveaway! The old filing cabinet is yours for the taking, as long as you come and pick it up. Empty, it isn't that heavy, I just don't need it, the 2 bottom drawers had UFO's in it! Email me for deets if you're interested (no, I didn't paint it, it came like that).

It's too big to take to the Northern Craft Bonanza tonight, but there will be some treats to swap......
head over to Kirsty's to see more spaces....

What a week!

Wow, I can't believe it's been a week since I blogged, time is flying! The holidays seem to have flown by, and before I know it, I'll have a Grade 1 girl!
But lets backtrack a bit. It's been busy to say the least. Monday started with a wedding- a day of preparations saw us running out the door at 5pm, for the flower girl to be on time (shouldn't have bothered of course, who's on time at a wedding?)

My bag went beautifully! Added some vintage glamour.....

And there was dancing and more dancing, I didn't know she had so many moves! I dragged her home about midnight, with a promise to stay up when we got home. Needless to say Australia Day was spent half asleep!

Back to work for 3 days this week- Wed, Thurs and Fri, it left my evenings pretty short as I needed my sleep!
Thursday night, though, I buzzed up on caffeine and popped along here.
I managed to finish ONE measly hair tie when I got home, covered a few buttons while I was, forgot to take photos, but generally had a ball chatting to people in real life for a change. This chickie sums it up well.
Lastly, a shot of Little Miss's tomato haul. As long as Mummy remembers to water them, they are coming along great, so yummy too.

Now off to house hunt!
