Some opping

I've had a few free days this week, which has led to abit of op shopping, which I couldn't save for Flea Market Finds.

Savers gave me some great stuff, including an Enid Blyton for our collection (I won't blame the child, she's not that interested really, so i'll admit they are for me). Pencils for filling pencil rolls, a 100% lambswool green sweater, in the boys section ??? It was originally a size 18, but is now about a 14. I tried to shrink/felt it some more, in a hot wash with detergent, it didn't budge! Any tips?

There were 2 of these curtains, I wasn't selfish, I took one! Imagine the cute pinnies....

I nearly shouted "KEN DONE" when I saw this one, then saw the Australis symbol, then decide, what the hey, it's mine!

And some UFO's (too make way for all the new ones heehee). Finished this pram, with a cute blankie to go with it. Just needs assembling and marketing, urgh, the hard job. Ebay or Etsy? My usual dilemma.

And a little baby gown, my fave tee. Into the pressie box for the new babies everyone else gets to have.

More oppy bargains later!
Oops, nearly forgot- where am I off to on Saturday? Heehee, more fun!

My Creative Space

I'm joining in this week, last week didn't manage to see me doing much. But and impromptu market this Sunday has got my butt into gear with my pram project.
So the fabric has been picked

and it's all coming together nicely. A bit fun too!

If you are over this way, or want an adventure, come and check out Reuse It Baby, there will be 2nd hand stuff and some new as well.

For my crafty peeps, head over to the hostest with the mostest to see more.

Catch up

I keep thinking I've posted these pics, then remember I haven't and have finally remembered to do it!! I happily posted pics of the of this quilt, here is the finished top piece.
Murray watches my every move- he was in every photo!
I now have to start the back piece, then organise the professional quilting...yes, that's right, one day I will even have the money to pay for it! Not yet, though.....

After making the pram cover for my friend a few months ago (he's 8mths old now, more than a few!) I didn't think about doing another one. But then I got lucky- the one on the left was $40, the blue on the right was $20, and included the bassinet, umbrella and toddler seat! The green one is Little Miss's old pram, which I was keeping to make junk mail deliveries with when I'm an old codger, but now I think it needs a revamp. Any Emmalunga fans out there?

This was thrown in with the pram from the trash n treasure stall- isn't she great? Joan Dawson in 1966 made this pic, which is sooo crafty I had to have it!

This cat has been cracking me up all week- it just walks to a point, then flops on the ground and lays in this position like, forever! Until she gets a pat, then she rolls over and lays for a while longer. The furry kids are so hot at the moment, actually Murray is at the groomers as I type, getting a 'summer do'.

And an update on fabric utopia. 2 more shelves arrived for my birthday, and are been filled up. Every night i have been folding my stash, often involving ironing in front of the fan. The crafty girl picture will hang above the shelves, I think. The 2 other canvasses are on the walls in my bedroom and hallway.

That's it for photo roundup! Stay cool in the heat.

Nervous....

I always remind myself it is not the finished product, but the journey along the way....and I have learnt. Oh, yes, a 'make up as you go' pattern and the pic of a finished product in mind and...well, this it it (in 5 pics or less).
Prerequisite fuzzy slippers....

Hammer and nails....

Putting studs in...notice the stuff up?

Matching blankie

And lots of labels!

Ok, so I have learnt:

Lots of layers mean domestic sewing machines DO crack the shits occasionally.

Lots of pics before hand will remind you of how it's meant to look at the end.

Always check to recipient likes animal print (Bam-Bam!).

Make sure there is enough fabric for the matching top.

Plan for babysitting the weekend you want to finish this.

Relax and enjoy it! Remember the old one? Could I do worse?

It is back to it's owner this arvo, looking forward to her response!

Edit: She loved it! Now onto the hood.

This week.....

I have a special project I am finishing off this week, for baby no 3 in a family.
As you can see, this beautiful classic Emmalunga pram, that has been used for the last 2 children, and was 2nd hand then too, is showing a bit of wear and tear.

So it's time for a new cover

With some new fabrics, thrifted of course.
