Market wrap-up

The day began...rainy and overcast, but still fun enough to get out of bed at a ridiculous hour! The drive up to Daylesford was uneventful, except for a bad coffee choice around the corner from home (should have made my own) and this van full of....goats? Is this even legal? The white heart shape in the bottom right hand corner of the back window is a....BUM! A goat's bum, thank you very much. Weird!

So myself and my partners- in- crime were put in the corner...or as we liked to call it, the
 'back of the bus!"

I managed shots of Cam's stall;

her spunky fabric- drawn, coloured, printed and folded by her! (Well, ok, not printed, but near enough, lets just say 'birthed' by her)

My editing has deleted my shot of Tinniegirl's stall, and if I didn't want to bash the computer, I'd start all over again; instead, see a better photo here. There is also a better photo of my stall there; this is my best shot. Popular were my vintage skirt and zip purses.

The best bits were the b'day pressie and the swapping!

And of course the Lark warehouse sale!

Tonight I did a bit of re-decorating...3 hooks were already there when I moved in, I just needed to right art (sounds very upper class of me, doesn't it?) I'm glad I waited. The colours go well, and they all mean something special. The middle one was done last year for my birthday, and the other 2 are this year's card and print of my favourite painting. Thanks, Cathy!

And remember these bags? I feel so lucky to be using the one the left (butterfly) one, as it was swapped and has come to be my new bag! Not that the one on the right wasn't perfect, too....but the green I love. To you crazy people who didn't buy it yesterday- mwah mwah mwah, it's awesome!

The Lunch Bag

I made it back with pics of my favourite item to make- my lunch bags!

Yes, there have been a few posts written about them, I do love them so. Little Miss has used hers now every day for nearly 4 terms (3 weeks to go, eek!) and it still looks good, no tears or rips, and only 1 squishy banana to wipe out of it.

In lieu of other testimonials (which I must ask for one day) here are some pics of the ones currently in stock:

Again apologies for the photos, I took them in the overcast afternoon, couldn't brighten them up anymore!

Last night....

Sorry, all, last night was a bit of a write-off, the sleep fairy caught up with me and it seems I need 13hrs sleep! Luckily I woke a few times to roll myself, or there could have pressure sores....(old nursing joke haha)
So the late nights always seem to come at a cost!

So here's yesterdays post, or items, and I'll take some more later and throw in an extra one tonight!

I love making these hair ties, and my Little Miss gets lots of compliments on them!

I usually sell them for 3 for $5, which I a bit of a bargain. But nice and cheap for young girls who get a bit of money to spend at the market, I love seeing them walk away proud of their purchases!

I've also started selling some of the bunting I made over the last few years, the cookie monster has cookie fabric alternating, so cute!

I made metres and metres of this for Little Miss's old room, so it is all going at a bargain, being 2nd hand from 2nd hand fabric 'n all.

Just another few items for sale in time for Christmas at the market! If something on here takes your fancy, flick me an email so I can keep it aside.

Blogtoberfest '10 day 2

well, I wish I had more to show for it.
Picture wise, that is! The broken camera still has me using the iPhone, and this was the best one of the lot- even though it is the mock-up at home! Some great photo's were taken by the mnarket photographers, who also bought some skirts for their little girls!
I had a great time and met new friends, no de-lurking bloggers though, just the usual suspects. A friend even came up from Melbourne with her kiddies and mum to say hi, how cool is that! I'll post tomorrow with my goodies (not many, I promise).

out and about

A bit of out and about crafting this weekend. A visit to Castlemaine, Daylesford and of course, Daylesford Bazaar. Oh, yes, Lark too. A few of my pencil rolls are left, as run and snap them up!
Even Little Miss loves this shop- "there are just so many cute things here, mum!" She said loudly. Then she wondered why someone told her she was cute!
I pick up these beauties....

and the bedspread on the left. The one on the right is from Savers a few weeks ago, $5.99 for a Queen size one. The one of the left is double for $25 (reduced from $50!) So 2 for $30, I think!

We picked up a couple of cards and this book- better late than never! Heading over to
Curlypop's tomorrow to get her to autograph it for me haha

Had to go to Spotlight- another post on the mermaid fabric coming up! But look what i found- chook fabric! $6 a metre. wouldn't they make great soft toys? or a chook stop? Endless possibilities! My friend's mum loves these, and I'd love to make her something, as she was so good to Little Miss. All depends if I'm good enough to be spoken to again, I suppose!
Also got one of these- my first craft was this, and Little Miss thought she'd give it a try-
she will have to get in quick! It's fun!

Happy week of crafting!

There's 2 Smurf lunch bags, heaps of pencils, and a re-styled Emmalunga to be sold.

We'll see you there?

On the road again...

The Little Miss and I had another car trip yesterday, up to Castlemaine for a few hours. It wasn't too hard a drive- after our stuff was done, we headed back home via Daylesford, with beautiful scenery like this....

and this

We stopped at Lark to pick up my raffle prize I won after entering on Saturday at the market. Not a bad prize for 5 tickets! There is a beautiful cross stitch kit, some yummy 50% wool 50%silk I will make myself something with, chocolate eggs (say no more) and some wool that's destined for a giveaway. It was all donated by Purl's Palace.

Purls Palace and Threadneedle Craft are supporting this great Craft Experience, which coincides with another Makers Market, which might be my first market this year! I'm planning on making some lunch bags, that's for sure! And a few new things....
But back to now. Dropping in to Threadneedle Craft was great- 2 of these little kits came home with me, and I can't stop doing it! Slooooow craft, perfect for sitting STILL on the couch, something I'm not very good at, but should do more of.

And I'm trying to decide if this is for me- or the other 'people' in the house!

Dayelsford Day

Little Miss and I jumped in the car yesterday for the Daylesford Makers Market, which I hope to be part of soon! It was a great drive up, then I noticed more and more traffic as we got into Daylesford- the Farmer's Market was on the same day! probably the busiest day I've seen up there so far (locals may disagree heehee).
Anyway, we saw lots of friends- I'm cheating and sending you to Cam's post, too much hyperlinking for me! But I'll give her a little bit of free promo- Little Miss looking cute and blue (and black) eyed in a crown....

and excited in a chef's hat! Such great products, that Chickie has.

After saying hi to all, and seeing some great new products (no link yet for the girl that makes the resin bracelets with buttons and licorice all sorts inside them!) we headed down to the Daylesford Bazaar, and the the Mill Markets, which I hadn't heard of before (being new to Melbourne and all, haha).
I saw lots I liked- flying gulls for the wall were a bit above budget at $240!

As was this great retro office chair, there were 2 which would be great for Little Miss's desk and my sewing cabinet- but at $195 each, I'll keep looking!

The things I did get will be over at Flickr, and Flea Market Finds- so I don't double up and bore you folk too much!
The Mill Markets had a great cafe, just what you need after all that walking around, so an iced coffee and strawberry milkshake hit the spot- especially this cool spoon! A metal straw/spoon. Loved it. Want one.

A Happy Easter Sunday to you all- I like that it coincided with the end of Daylight Savings, so that the egg stash could be enjoyed in front of TV while mummy had a big sleep in- noice!

Wow, what a day!

The big adventure today was not very far from home- up the freeway and into Daylesford, where they had the Makers Market. Little Miss, me and Holly jumped in the car and despite missing a turn-off, made it!
First stop, was Lark, where the lovely Allison was there to greet everyone. The town was jumping! A bit of exciting news....

beccasauras pencil rolls will be in store soon! Wow, to be included with these crafters is just awesome! And if the rain clears up tomorrow for some half decent photos, more pencil rolls in my Etsy store as well, just in time for Christmas!

The market was a-buzz with bloggers and new friends- the puff idea worked a treat. Kootoyoo, Dandelion, Curlypops and Jodie RicRac had their usual amazing goodies;

Little Miss is so happy with 'Message-bot' Roby;

Beck's beautiful stall;

Cam's beautiful bags and brooches

and a new product (how does she find the time?) DIY brooch kits, for young and old!

And, of course, I came home with some treats for me- a Parsley and Beet card to remind myself to buy the pattern (ie I bought a pattern), lucky dip stitch kit from Kirsty, yo-yo brooches, and some Lark goodies;

also from Lark these great melamine latte cups- the fit under the spout, yay! And love the little jumpers I made them the other day. Doesn't everyone like to accessorize??

And even though I came home to rainy Melbourne, I have a pretty big smile on my face. Hope your day was as good as mine!

Happy Movember!

I was so sad about Blogtober ending I forgot to post on the last day! Arghh! It was so fun, and I'm sure I don't need to hyperlink to Cam and Cathy for the organising, we say a big THANK YOU!!
After bitching and moaning about not winning anything, I came home yesterday to an email from this girl, who is not only the busiest woman I ever heard of, but is organising a vintage sheet swap I had to be in on too. Go over and visit, it will be ace!
So here comes today's adventure- a gloomy day in Melbourne, so a car trip was required. Hmm, have to go to Castlemaine anyway, surely we could go via Dayelsford? After driving through a pea-souper.....

we cooked our little butts off with 30 degrees 'over the mountains'. Hence the visor shot!

So great to meet Alison, and I got a blogger's gift! Just for saying hi! Gosh, so much great stuff, I came away with this little treasure....

no, not JUST the child, but a little love heart from this crafty mumma. Little Miss likes that we both share a name! It is tucked up under her chin in bed at the moment, as she is snoring away.
I can't wait to meet her say hi in person at the
market.

A little present to me...shhh, I know I don't need more craft books, but I have the first one, and as Forrest would say 'like peas and carrots'. As in, you can't have one without the other, right? So now I can Make and Sew. BTW, first glance has shown me the Sew is even better than Make, so I'm happy. And the free bag to sew together is a bonus.

And the best bit? I mean, the icing on the cake? Vinnies. Open. On. A. Sunday. Stay tuned for part 2 of "What I Bought In Vinnies On A Sunday in Daylesford".

Note: despite the title of this post, I have decided not to participate in Movember, despite being told a while ago I needed a lip wax (thanks for that!) I will eagerly watch from the sidelines as the boys compete as to who's is bigger, better etc, basically have a pissing contest and raise money for a great cause.
