Featuring Carolyn Cochrane Fine Art Photography

Every time I see the work of Carolyn Cochrane it makes me smile.  It puts me back to the time when turquoise waters and shells  were  a part of my everyday life and where I long to return once again.

Images that take me back to feeling the warm sand beneath my feet at one of the worlds most beautiful beaches; Magen's Bay in the US. Virgin Islands.

Carolyn has dabbled in a number of creative pursuits but found her passion in photography. Her style; uncluttered and simple is powerful at the same time.

Can't you almost hear soft waves in this one?

Spot that perfect specimen sitting like a jewel?

Be amused by the skittish little sandpipers that flit around and run to the edge of the water only to run back away from it seconds later.

Enjoy a small stretch of the beach all to yourself.

Carolyn is captivated by the combination of light, textures and shapes around her and happiest with her camera in hand on a nice day.

She then takes those images and manipulates them to enhance color but, not too far from what nature herself does perfectly well.

Carolyn hails from New Jersey but you can purchase her work on Etsy at Carolyn Cochrane.

Should any of Carolyns's prints be a must have for your coastal decorated home you can order them in a variety of sizes including small groupings to gallery canvas wraps.

Carolyn is offering a discount right now for 10% off enter coupon code 10PERCENT at checkout on Etsy.

I'm headed off to bring our canine family to the beach and stick my toes in the ocean ....won't you join us?

Magnolia trees in bloom. Natures pink umbrella.

I look forward to the burst of thousands of magnolia blooms every year.

The sky over our yard looks likes cotton candy and so does the pond from the water reflecting the blooms.

Magnolia blossoms reflected in the pond water.

We have two of these lovely trees.  Both look to be about 40 maybe, 50 feet tall.   Their blooms differ in shades of pink. One is more pale than the other.

Magnolia branches over pond.

One of them is near the pond and some lower branches extend out over it. We used to prune them but in the last couple of years have let them be.  Originally, this was to have low branches obstructing the view and flight path of the blue heron who thinks our fish are there for his dining pleasure.

It's magical and it's brief.  I always hope rain doesn't come too soon because it causes the petals to fall off.

Chair over looking fish pond.

It started raining the morning after I took these for two days and when the sun returned strong winds came along with it.

I'm glad I didn't wait to take their photo in the golden hour of the setting sun which cast a soft warm glow.

I want to be sitting right here

So, I saw this photo on Marie's blog Sally Lee by the sea. I tried to find out who took it and was led to another blog but couldn't find the actual post with the photo.

I don't know who took it to give credit to.
and I wonder what other glorious photos they took the same day.

It sure is swoon worthy isn't it?

Wouldn't you love to be sitting there for just a minute?

Seagulls Surfers, and Sighs

I had forgotten about these photos taken right after Hurricane Earl.  We had never seen so many seagulls at once. Hundreds of them lined the beach.

It was like they were waiting to listen to a speaker or something.

To which my DB happily obliged by saying.
"We are so glad you could all be here today
I'm sure you are all wondering why this meeting was called..."

This youngster walked a little closer to hear it all.

Surfer's were enjoying some decent waves.

This one had some dance like movements going on.

Right up to the moment before he lost his balance.

These seagulls were literally in an "arrow" formation pointing to the water's edge.
.
I asked my DB to take my photo for my blog.
In a new dress I'm still not sure about. It's a bit short.
So here goes.

Yes, some of us should only wear pants!

"Honey, they won't be able to see you if you keep your sunglasses on."

Sigh, Sigh.

Antique Cars. A study in chrome

Numerous vintage car owners were invited to show off their rides at the recent antique wooden boat show.
You can visit that post here.

This photo is dedicated to Sea Laura. She really likes the color gray.

This is the drivers side of a fabulous old wood beach cruiser wagon.
It looked like it belonged in Ralph Lauren(tm) advertisement.

The gleaming dash of an American icon.

None other then a 1966 Mustang with a good old V8 engine.
That in itself sent shivers down my spine.
There is nothing like a vintage convertible with a V8.

It's owner stood by watching me crouching and studying the car.
Offering to open the door for the dash photo I was after.

So did this one.

While everyone else was trying to take photos of the
entire car I was just after the chrome.

Several owners were intrigued by my "chrome" mission.
Asking if they should make sure it was free of fingerprints.

This was one stylin' wagon.

The paint and chrome on this car was amazing.

This little cutie could have come home with me.

It had it all.
Convertible, chrome and it was a perfect shade of blue.

I tried to get the whole car in a photo, but there were so many
admirers gathered around it.

My day would have been complete if I had arrived on this.

Well, if it were aqua it would have.
