HoneyBee Showscase ~ Christmas in July

Happy Wednesday!  It's HoneyBee Showcase day, and it's Christmas in July!!  Are you ready for some cooler breezes to blow your way?  Perhaps a fresh idea or two to spark your imagination will be fun, too.  We have some cool ideas for you this week, and hope you will be joining right in with us.
******************
Hello, Welcome to HoneyBee Showcase.  Wow! Didn't HoneyBee Judy do a great job on Monday!!!!  I've really had lots of fun with Christmas In July!  This week I made this adorable little Pyramage Penguin.  I just love working with Pyramage.  It gives it such new dimensions.  You can find it over on Digital Delights.  The next card is one I did last Christmas.  I just wanted to share it with you.  It's one of my Fav's

Have a wonderful week!  Huggles

*************************

It's so nice to post this week... it seems like it has been forever since I have shared here at the hive........Sorry HoneyBees but I think my mojo had flown south for the summer and my grandkids helped me find it today! We have been in my craft room all day creating.
I followed Judy's lead with the snowflake.  Wonderful tut, Judy, and I made mine using the Stampin' Up small and large tag punch and a tutorial from the Technique Junkies newsletter.......the sweet little image is one of Linnie's at Whoopsi Daisy Designs ... love love love snow people.
Now we want to see your Christmas in July....your turn.

*************************

Happy Wednesday!! With the weather in the upper 90s, I guess doing Christmas cards should cool one down a bit..lol..Truth is, living in Florida we can have temps in the 90s even in December. Oh yeah, it's happened and if not, it sure feels like it..lol..

I would like to thank Betty for giving me some really cute Loralie Design fabric that just happen to be Christmas designs! I added a little Stickles to make her 'Christmas Glittery'..!!

                                                       ************************
Sometimes it is said that "necessity is the mother of invention"...
Well, most of you know that I am traveling, and don't have much with me in the way of supplies,
so this shows that even with NO Christmas supplies at all, you can pull off a CAS card :)

I do have my Gypsy with me, so I have cut out a layered ornament from some aluminum foil glued to a piece of cardstock.  The Cuttlebug embossing folder might not be the one I would choose if I were at home, but the idea is there.  The red part of the ornament is colored with a red Copic marker, and there is some sparkly Stickles for bling, and the center is a great silver dome... I wish it showed up as pretty in the photo as it is in person.  Add a strip of silver and red stamped sentiment, and a bit of red cording,,, and it carries a cheerful  Holiday message.

Now it's our turn to be dazzled by your designs!  Link up your cards, layouts, projects and posts below!  We also have an email address if you want to send us info, and we will post for you.  We love hearing from you!!

Happy creating!

Hello friends! HoneyBee Judy Ford checking in here for

this week's Buzz, Brag and Bee Happy!

This has been a busy week for me. I've been joining in on all sorts of swaps over at the Cricut web site. The usual ones, card fronts and cards, but also paperdoll swap and paperclip swap! For the paperclip swap I was able to use some of those leftover inchies and twinchies that were so popular several years ago. My clip for October is too cute. I made blood shot eyeballs! and December's is a magnetic clothespin with a reindeer head that I made from My Community footprint and hand prints. The foot is the head, the hands the antlers, some red glitter for the nose, some wiggly eyes and a peppermint ribbon bow from Betty's Bow Maker completes the cutest little reindeer that can hold notes on my fridge or masterpieces from my grandson Jackson... The garden is also starting to produce!!! Can anyone say Zucchini explosion!!!!! Right now I'm baking zucchini bread and muffins made with Splenda. I have some to saute with yellow squash and onions for supper! Anyone have any other good recipes you'd like to share, or come grab some for yourself!!!! Anyway, how are things in your area of the blogosphere? What are you doing special? Link back and share with all us HoneyBees!!!

Betty Brett

I hope you will forgive a bit of family news on my part of today's post.  It is what I am happy about.  As you know, we are traveling, and the picture below is the main reason for our trip.

This is our granddaughter, Paisley, and she is wearing an heirloom outfit which is handed down to the girls in our family for their Blessings in our church.  Sunday was this special occasion.
Part of our travels included a day at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, and this is the view from inside the magnificent chapel there.  Breath taking!
This is a scenic spot in the Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs, and the background looks like a painting... but it's real!  Such amazing country!
And, I have crafted a bit :)  This is a "textures" project I did this week, and there is a video on YouTube, and on my blog showcasing a LOT of different texturizing techniques.  I invite you to pop over and check it out.

We are off toward Utah in a couple of days, then more sightseeing after that... we feel quite blessed to be able to travel around our beautiful country, and not have a specific schedule to keep.  I'll check in again soon!

Happy crafting!

Now it's your turn to link here anything you'd like to brag about!  Tell us what's happening in your hive!

HoneyBee Showcase - Summertime, and the Living' is Easy

It's time to get ready for Memorial Day weekend, and the official opening of summertime... what did you do in the summer when you were a kid? Do you remember skate keys? banana bikes? hide and seek? the ice cream man? catching lightning bugs? camping under the stars?  cruising the strip? checking out the boys? going to the lake?  The HoneyBees have created some sweet summertime inspiration for you this week!  Let's buzz down memory lane!
                                                           *************************
When I think of summer I remember lots of fun times with our family reunions at Great Falls Park in Virginia!  There was a lot of great food, the old merry-go-round with the brass ring, and the Potomac River with the amazing view of the rapids.

Betty Brett

I also think of the LAST DAY of SCHOOL which is quickly approaching!!  My daughter has the sweetest tradition of meeting all of the kids with lots of special treats and a big end of school party.  She is the "Cupcake Queen" and I know she will love to make these themed cupcake wrappers... but it's really fun to carry your theme to water bottles, treat cups, and other cool projects.  This is just a "sneak peek" of my entire party pack!  Check out my blog for the rest of the story!
Sun and Here Comes The Sun paper are from our friends at Digital Delights!
Cupcake wrapper for cupcake and treat cup are from Cricut Life's A Party cartridge.

                                                         ************************

Happy Wednesday!  Here in the hive we are thinking of summer.  In my mind, summer is about chintz or polka dot patterns, blueberries, and watermelon.  I tried to capture those ideas in my card.

I found this Hero Arts stamp at my LSS in the 50% off bin.  I immediately thought to stamp on kraft card stock and color with my prismacolor pencils.  When I was creating this card, I was on Skype with HoneyBee Court Lee.  It was Court's inspiration that inspired me to add the scallop border (MFT Die-namics) and the crinkled ribbon at the bottom.  I *heart* red and polka dots, so this fun paper by October Afternoon caught my eye.  I added some bling hot rocks with m i-Rock tool...done :)
*********************
HI!! IT'S ME, ROSEMARY!!

I am not home, so I don't have access to all my photos. There is no photo of me to welcome you, but.....you will see me in a digital layout  I did with limited software on my laptop.
*****************************

Honeybee Courtney Lee here to share a slice of watermelon.

This week's theme is "It's summertime and the living is easy". My mom used to cut up watermelon for me every morning and I had it for breakfast, so when I think of summertime, I think of her and watermelon.
Recipe:
Paper: Echo Park: Summer Days "Scallops"™ (from Artful Delight May Kit)
Cartridge: Designer's Calendar
Embossing: D'vine Swirl Emboss Folder
Buttons, ribbon, and twine: PTI

Next month's kit from Artful Delight will be revealed soon and I LOVE it! I know you all will too!

************************

For my project this week I chose a card with summer colors and what says summer like flowers.

Beth Ullman

HoneyBee Showcase ~ Christmas Cards to Die (cut) For!

Welcome to Christmas in April!  It's the HoneyBee Showcase, and time for the HoneyBees to share our Christmas cards to Die (cut) for!  We are very excited about our joint venture with Lauren and Stef, the JINGLE BELLES, and our opportunity to guest on each others' blogs this week!

                                                                         *********

Honeybee Courtney Lee reporting for Christmas inspiration!

Welcome to this fabulous Wednesday!

Today we Honeybees are cross-pollinating (get it!?!) with the Jingle Belles thanks to June - our sweet Honeybee! They are a couple of ladies dedicated to making Christmas cards all year long so that it doesn't overwhelm you come holiday season! So they have a different challenge every week. This week's challenge is to use a die cut! Mine is, of course, Cricut made! Hop over to Jingle Belles to play along and play with us too! Two chances to win! :)

I have been doing SO much crafting recently and just keep thinking about how blessed I am that I have such a supportive and encouraging group of friends and family! That includes YOU out there in bloggy world!

Sorry! Out for publication!

The picture above didn't show the Glossy Accents so I went to take another picture and accidentally hit the button and this picture resulted and for some reason I really like it! :)

Sorry! Out for publication!

ALL that you see that made up my card came from PUMPKIN SPICE except for the twine, glossy accents, liquid applique, cartridge, and embossing folder. But all of the paper and embellishments came from the two My Mind's Eye Christmas lines from last year and they are both on sale at Pumpkin Spice along with Meadowlark!

Sorry! Out for publication!

I hope you play along with us! I thought I would have a hard time getting in the Christmas mood, but I had a blast making this card! I just might play along in the next few weeks with those Jingle Belles! :)

********************
Happy Wednesday everyone!!..This is such an exciting week for us here at Betty Bee's Buzz!! Not only do we get to share with you our Christmas creations, but we get to be a part of a really cool site...Jingle Belles!!
Here is my Christmas card!!
....and when opened
Products used: My Mine's Eye cardstock
Stickles
Versafine ink
ColorBox chalk ink
Just Right stamp
Sizzix
Nestabilities
Joanne and Offray ribbon
Cricut Cartridges: Lacy Label and Paper Doll Dress Up

********************

This is my card for Lauren's guest designer spot from Jingle Belles Rock. I used SU Hunter Green Cardstock for the card base and the pocket. I used my cuttlebug to emboss the white background with Winter House folder. I used my Winter Wonderland Cartridge to make the adorable snowman. He is not attached in the pocket and is actually a gift certificate. On the back I've written "My treat to Dinner and a Movie"... the recipient can cash in the gift certificate and then the snowman can be used to embellish a scrapbook page of the event! I used my Martha Stewart Drippy Goo Punch to accent the card pocket. The glitter on the punch, house tops and snow in the sky is for Lauren, she LOVES glitter and is dragging me along with her...LOL This will be a great Christmas as I will have a bunch of bee-utiful cards done BEFORE the last minute rush!!! I love Christmas!  It has to be one of my favorite times of the year, so this challenge was so, so easy....... Thank you June and the Jingle Belles for this great opportunity to join in on your fun.

For my card I started off with Garden Green, Whisper White card stock from SU, then used Martha Stewart Christmas paper for the rest.  My die cut frame is a Nestabilitie and the snowflakes are a Cricuts Christmas cartridge. That sweet little image is a digi from Whoopsi Daisy.

Betty Brett

This is my first card for this week's challenge.  I must admit that it was a bit out of my comfort zone... this the "challenge" part... but I like it!  I was actually inspired by a commercially produced card that I saw a while back.  The papers are all from Echo Park's "Merry Christmas" collection.  The J and Y are cut from the Cricut StoryBook cartridge, manipulated with my Gypsy to make them fit the opening.  The festive ornament is from the coordinated sticker dies that come with the Echo Park paper pack, as is the sentiment.  The gems are from Studio 18
Now, this one is more my usual style :)  The Magnolia image is a stamp, and she is colored with Copics  and accented with Stickles.  The tree is cut from Cricut's Joys of the Season cartridge, first in shadow, and then in layer, and decorated with Studio 18 gems.  The beautiful Holly paper is Paper Studio, "Season's Greetings" from Hobby Lobby.  The etherial blue glittered swirl background is My Mind's Eye "Countdown to Christmas".  The snowflake is a die cut from Cuttlebug, finished off with a glittered brad in the center, and the vellum and rub-on sentiment are from my stash.
                                                                 ********************
As always, we are excited when you join in with us, and this week is especially fun, since we have Lauren and Stef, and their readers with us, too!  How about a fun prize!  Here is a bit of Christmas Cheer to get you motivated!  We will be choosing a random winner of these, and some more surprise Christmas goodies!  All YOU have to do is join us in our CHRISTMAS to DIE (cut) FOR challenge, and you could be the winner!

Post your project here before 6:00 PM eastern time on Thursday, April 21st, and we will choose a winner that night.  The winner will be announced right here on Friday, April 22th during Buzz, Brag and Bee Happy!

                                                                  ************

This week I'm Buzzin and Braggin! My Husband Don and I went out by Eggmont Key, near Tampa Bay, on April 7th. I caught this bee-utiful 19in grouper.

Too small to filet but a ton of fun to catch! My good friend, Henrietta Hoffman, and I donated 16 quilts to the local branch of Florida Baptist Children's Home that we had made over this winter season. They are completely funded by private donations and the Bradenton, Florida branch deals with foster care homes. Sherri was so excited to get these quilts and we could tell by her expression that she was picking out which quilt would go to which child as she poured over our donation. She said these children are all ages and are coming out of crisis, abuse, violence, and horrors too awful to even imagine. So many come to them with only the clothes on their backs or with a few things stuffed into garbage bags. Henrietta and I are making this our ongoing project. Next year we hope to expand our efforts, with the help from other members of our trailer community, by doing a weekly sewing project at our community hall. Sherri also said they can use small suitcases, bookbags or totes so the children can put their things into something other than a garbage bag, sooooo garage sales here I come...bags, batting, material, thread... wow retail therapy for a good cause!!!! Hug your children for me and come join us at Betty Bee's Buzz for what makes you BUZZ, BRAG OR BEE HAPPY!!!                                                                         Judy Ford
*******************

Can you believe my girls are almost 9yo? Last year I started scrapbooking pages for my own scrapbook album, though I have been "collecting" papers to complete it for 8 years! I have had this picture and this LO kit for 7 years, I think.
My, how scrapbooking has changed! To update it just a bit, I fussy cut the title die cut strip (dove, two giraffes, and 'two by two'.) I used the April sketch challenge at Artful Delight. I took some creative license with the sketch because my banner was so lengthy. I used my Birthday Bash circuit cartridge and my D'Vine Swirls Cuttlebug embossing folder to create the pennant flags. I stitched together with some blue floss left over from a completed cross-stitch kit. Just trying to use up my old stash…

This week's theme at Betty Bee's Buzz is "Babies." If you are looking for baby-theme inspiration, check out what the DT has done earlier this week!

For both of these cards I used the BasicGrey Oliver card kit.

What are you working on this week? We have a linking party here at Betty Bee's Buzz every Friday. Link anything you currently working on, or just leave a comment on good things that happened this week in your hives.

                                                                     ********************

Happy Friday!!!..This was a pretty lazy week for me, so I'm going to share with you a few 'baby' cards I did several months back.  Doublside cardstock is perfect for this design!

*******************

Betty Brett

I have a couple of things to share this Friday.  First, I want to thank our amazing Design Team, the wonderful HoneyBees, for the great job they did with Baby Week!  I am so honored to have such good and talented friends.
It is time for new releases at Digital Delights, and it looks like a total Pirate Invasion! I colored Pirate Presley with Copics, and used two images of the treasure chest to create a box to keep my chocolate booty in!  Wendy has a lot of great images for you next pirate party.  I wish the beautiful Smooch colored gems had shown up in this picture!  So pretty :)
And last, but certainly not least, I have created a very special wedding card for my beautiful niece, Ashley and her beloved, Steven.  They are being married on Saturday, and I send them all my love and wishes for a wonderful life together.  My hubby will be traveling to celebrate with them, while I am with our daughter's little family.  This is one of my new Display style cards, and the tutorial is over on my personal blog (here).
*************

Sorry I'm late!
I've had such a wonderful month!  My Son has gotten married.  His wedding was on the 19th in Orlando Florida and his reception was on the 26th in Atlanta Georgia.  Of course he was the most handsome groom there ever was!  His bride was like an angel.. What a beautiful couple.

Here is my beautiful family.  My five of six children (one lost as a infant) and my three grandchildren.  Bet you can't figure out who's the bride and groom.  LOL
After the reception we had the wonderful opportunity to go to the Medieval Times show in Atlanta.. It was fabulous!  Also joining us was the brides wonderful Mom who is from Russia, and my son's Best Man.  What a group we are.. It was such a wonderful time.. It was the first time in years we have all been together.  My son served four years in the military so getting together was hard.

 Beth Ullman

Hey Wanda I am even later than you.....story of my life..........my week has been spent making a few cards and playing in my yard, hubby and I extended my flower bed out the other day so we have been planting.....I love spring in Virginia my azaleas are almost in full bloom I made up a collage with just a few of the things I have blooming.
I Hope for those of you who are still having snow and cold temperatures that this picture will warm your hearts just a little.

Here is one of the cards I did this week the techniques I used are called Curled Corners and Watercolored over White, they are from the Technique Junkies newsletter.
Well I am off to play hope you have enjoyed my little addition this week, have a wonderful week-end.

Honeybee Courtney Lee

Hello everyone! I'm the latest to get my post up! :)

I have been a busy little bee recently! I am very excited to announce that I am a Guest Designer for Roberts Crafts. We had some technical difficulties and it was supposed to go live yesterday and it's not quite up yet, but I am sure it will be up soon. YouTube has been ornery! I made a Spring Garden Party project with 5 tutorials and 5 videos on all of the Imaginisce tools! So, once it is up, I would love some HoneyBee love and support if you have the time to check it out!

Tonight is also the My Pink Stamper Pink-alicious Friday Blog Hop! There will be about 20 stops on the hop - it's a big one - but a lot of us are hosting prizes! It goes live at 6:00PM PST. So check it out!

*********************

Note:  Our winner of the week for the Heritage Kit is AMY SHEFFER!!!  Congratulations, Amy!

Don't forget we have a challenge on Wednesday, and you could be the winner of a very sweet DCWV baby design kit!!  All you have to do is enter a baby project, and one random winner will be chosen next week!
