Wonderful time of Christmas markets

 

Det er fantastiske turer i byene – her Dresden – og du kan gå fra julemarked til julemarked.

In the cities - here Dresden/Germany - you can go for wonderful walks and go from Christmas market to Christmas market. I love it.

It is a pleasure to stroll through the markets, such as Wackerbarth Castle... or Königstein in the Saxon Switzerland National Park is heavenly...

Og i går snødde det og jeg kunne pakke ut skiene... Herlig.

And yesterday there was snow and I was able to unpack my skis... the glory.

Pepperkakebakeri - Pfefferküchlerei -

Gingerbread Bakery

this is one of the Küchler in town "Max Spitzer"

I den lille byen der jeg bor er det åtte pepperkakebakere – de heter «Küchler» og det er et gammelt håndverk som nå er tilgjengelig igjen som en anerkjent læreplass. Pepperkakebakeriene selger kun pepperkaker eller mandelmakroner hele året :-)) Og hver november er det et stort marked i den lille byen... markedet er fylt med boder som selger de 8 pepperkakebakere/Küchler... og gatene rundt det og smug fulle av andre vakre ting å se og kjøpe.

In the small town where I live, there are eight gingerbread bakers - they are called "Küchler" - it is an old craft that is now available again as a recognized apprenticeship. The gingerbread bakeries - Pfefferküchlerei - only sell gingerbread all year round :-)) And every November there is a big market in our small town... the market is filled with stalls from the 8 gingerbread bakers... and the streets and alleys around the market square are full with dealers full of other nice things to see and buy...

I didn't have to queue... I live there and can always buy gingerbread

Det er også en del helt vanlige bakere i byen - brød, rundstykker, kaker og tortes - og favorittbakeren min lager alltid "Quarkspitzen" til pepperkakemarkedet... rett og slett deilig :-)) Jeg må ha dem og de kommer bare ut en gang i året.

There are also a number of good bakers in the city - bread, rolls, cakes and tarts - and my favorite baker always makes "quark tips" for the gingerbread market... simply delicious :-)) I have to have them and they only come out once a year .

Ellers er jeg klar for vinteren, det var de første snøfnuggene og en herlig tur i solen...

Otherwise I'm ready for the winter, there were the first snowflakes at the weekend and a nice walk in the sun...

The birds are being fed in the garden and the house is being decorated for Advent this week... baking and cooking is being done and above all... people are looking forward to it... the Advent calm is moving in with candlelight and cozy evenings.

What a wonderful time.

Under turen i dag passerte jeg dette naturmonumentet... det er skorsteinen til en liten fabrikk som laget murstein.

During my walk I passed this natural monument... it is the chimney of a small factory that made bricks... built in 1874.

Å ja, jeg skal bake eplepai og jeg skal bli opptatt med den nye boken min...     "Urban Sketching" er 144 sider med innsikt i historiefortelling med penn og farger...

Oh yeah, I'll be making apple pie and getting busy with my new book...

144 pages of "Urban Sketching"... draw shapes and lines - Urban Sketching has become an international movement with groups and events almost all over the world. Whether alone or in a group... draw your surroundings... this is an instruction book for it... for the first steps, so to speak, but even a practiced draftsman can find one or the other trick here, such as tips on the material, especially the Watercolor techniques... Topics such as perspective, simplification, design... telling a story through sketches.

That sounds interesting Mrs. Antje Linker-Wenzel, I will work through her book :-)))

og det viktigste... liv opp livet ditt med farger

I bring color into my life :-)))

... når kulden kommer med snøen og blomstersesongen er over ... da er det tid for penner og maling, fargerike stoffer, garn i alle farger, kanskje leire, modellleire eller farget papir :-)))

... when the cold comes and the flower season is over ... then it's time for pens and paints, for brightly colored fabrics, yarn and wool of all colors, maybe clay, modeling clay or colored paper :-)))
