Mirror, mirror on the wall

Is it possible to have too many mirrors in one room? My living room has 3. Eh, maybe I'm just vain. =D

I can't believe that I found this mirror at a garage sale during my lunch time on yesterday for $10 while the price on it says $169. I know everyone is spring cleaning and the last thing I wanted to do was bring MORE "stuff" home, but she's so pretty and her previous owner hated her. I think she's adores.

It is now a part of my favorite things

Aww my pretty sunburst mirror. No DIYing going over at my house for a sunburst mirror. Whoooeee

Look at those sexy curves. It's the sickest mirror!

Spring cleaning.Size does matter.

Fail Lamp Rescued

Oh man, I had my heart set on making it metal and rusted. Gotta tell you, that didn't work on my patience to well. Some days I can take the heat and other days I just want to move on from whatever I'm doing. This was one of those projects. BORING!
I found this lamp sitting all by it's self on a shelf at Target this weekend. Very heavy, ceramic, fugly purple lamp. ICK! I could cringe! But check out the price $10.39. Are you serious? I'm on it! I had so many great ideas for this.

Here's idea number 1. Silver leafing. I immediately hated it.

FAIL!

Operation Rescue Mission is ON!

After using my using my handy dandy can of white Rustoleum spray paint heres what she looks like now. I love how she turned out after a quick sanding, priming and spraying. Ain't she pretty!? I like it so much more then the silver leafing...

Ignore the afgan on the couch. It's so Roseanne! =D

Here's the finial. A very old one I found at the GW for a few pennies that has been painted BLACK, GOLD
and now WHITE. I love the pineapple on top.

The lamp shade I found at Lowes on their clearance isle for $10, Lamp Target $10. I love what this turned into.

So what do you think, should I had continued w/ the silver leafing or do you prefer the white w/ BROWN shade?

Restoration Hardware Wish List

OMW, did you get the new RH catalog? isn't it to die for? I'm in #LOURVE w/ several pieces in there so, I had to share.

They have the awesomest stuff right now... Oh why don't I have a money tree?

WOW! How sick is that TV stand?

Keep looking!

This would look killer in my living room. Might have to DIY it =D

I'm loving the Blackhawk RH line. Is it weird that I love the strength and masculinity behind this line? The leather reminds me of my dad, the metal reminds me of my Delta days, the lamps of Greta Garbo and the wood accent of farm houses I used to sneak into looking for vintage pieces.

The coffee table retails at $1395. I can't wait to see how we will all be inspired and how recreate this look.

What about these shelves, what do you think? I can't stop looking at them! I see these in my living room too...

I myself have several ideas...

Now look at the floor lamp... the Royal Master Sealight Floor Lamp. I can't believe how beautiful this is. This alone is a art piece. Retails for $1325

Love these Brazilian cowhide pillows. Retails $69-$99. Can you hear my sewing machine going? LOL

I love this Industrial Tool Chest Media Console for $1895. Again, why isn't my money tree growing?

Remember how I replace my kitchen boob light? See it HERE
Here is RH take on a boob light. It's BLACK! I can't wait to see who will recreate this one... the San Sebastian Flushmount. Retails for $79

It should be a very quick dress up party for it. I personally detest these ceiling lights. They are uneventful... okay the word I'm looking for is BORING! but eh, some paint could dress it up fun if you go silver, black, red, imagine it in yellow, fuchsia... it's endless. =D

DIY Hanging Light

I've seen these on a few blogs and I couldn't help but try it *yes, I steal great ideas* =D

I've been holding on to this Restoration Hardware lamp shade for a little over 1 yr. that I got from GW for $.30 cents (I know, I can't believe I find these awesome things) so, why not put it to good use? No reason!! So, I went for it!

I picked up a lighting cord w/ the plug in that came w/ the on and off switch. I also grabbed a light bulb socket.

I like to line everything up in sequence... It gives me a plan of attack.

1. Line everything up.

2. Feed wire thru lamp shade (with a 12' cord you have lots of slack).
3. Continue to feed wire thru extra thread and thread thru socket.

14' Restoration Hardware Empire shade in Goldenrod $44

 4. Unscrew the socket and wire the ends to the socket (not to tightly, but securely).

5. Screw everything back in place (make sure it's secure but not too tight).

6. Use the screw hooks or whatever you call them =D to the ceiling and BLAMO!!

Enjoy your new haning lamp that cost under $15.

All an all, it took about 15mins to put together and hang. I'm speedy like that =D

Don't you just love the floor space? I love that I can have extra seating there and that it has the perfect mood lighting...

Confession: What the heck do I do about the cord that hangs on the wall? my 12yr old hates the white cord against my BEHR creamy mushroom paint... does that make this project a fail?

Don't forget to follow me. I have some pretty cool projects coming up and I can't wait to share! So, be part of my crazy parade =D

Mama needs a new couch!!

I have the ich and now it's time for a new couch... I'm thinking a small cozy sectional. I'd like it dark brown over a brown zebra rug or something that pops and says FUN and DARING!

So, here's what I'm thinking... Check it and let me know what you think.

Big Lots has this for $500. I'm thinking it's still too much. I would go for it if it was $300 so, I'm going to wait a bit till it's on sale =D

Or
It has to be something I can move with so, I would prefer a new couch that doesn't need replacing in 2 yrs. and that would fit neatly in any basement.

Help me out and tell me what you think and share your suggestions and where to buy if you've been in the market.

Gone Teal!

I found this gallon of Valspar Sequoia Green paint at Lowe's for $5 and I grabbed it so quickly I might have sprained my shoulder LOL

It is truly beautiful and so yummy you want to lick it.

If you're following me, you've seen this chest before. Yuck w/ to the flowers, pink, baby blue and leaves. YUCK!! But for $3 at the local GW I couldn't walk away from it. Specially since it will serve as "hide the junk" place when family and friends are over. =D can't go wrong for $3 right?

This gave me a great opportunity to do some thing fun. But I still held it back a little because I have another paint can that is full of FUN and I can't wait to show you all that. That will be my daring to be fabulous project that will probably take a few weeks to complete because I have a few other projects stashed away, hiding. =D

Here is my assistant priming. Jacob is such a wonderful helper. He is always ready to get his hands dirty and help out. I don't think he has ever said no to me. Really!

Notice I taped the hardware w/ my favorite frog tape.

I protected the cedar from paint by taping that as well.

I covered the paint tray w/ a grocery store bag and pre wet the paint brush. I love how easy this makes painting =D

I knew from the minute I thought about painting the cedar chest that I had to make sure the cedar and hardware were not painted. So I lined the inside edges w/ the green tape and pressed it down w/ my nails so that it wouldn't bleed. It worked *wink*

Do you spy Jacob taking a break and playing on the puter? He was too funny today!

Before
And look what my $3 Lane cedar chest re-do looks like w/ a little sanding and painting. Je adore!!

After
I'm so very happy w/ how it all turned out. It is perfect although I am considering glazing. We'll see once I've lived w/ it w/ a bit just as she is.
BTW, this is how my pre soaked brush, roller and covered tray cleaned up after just a minute or two under the running water. Super duper sparkly clean! almost as if I'd never used them =D
