For those of you who haven't heard we rolled our truck last monday. :( It wasn't so fun, but we all walked away with barely a scratch, in fact I was the only one with even a scratch!!! Amazing!! There was barely any snow on the road but apparently just enough. We were on our way home from St. George, we had gone to Hunter's 4 month doctor appointment and also gotten all the lights for our house (which were in the back). We were coming around a very slight turn, changed lanes and started to slide. We slid into the ditch rolled onto my side, went onto the hood, started to go onto Ben's side, but the hill was in the way so we rocked back and ended on my side. All I could think about through the whole thing was Hunter, and he managed to sleep through the whole thing!! He was secure in his car seat which was still hooked to its base, when Ben climbed out the back window. He woke up sideways and Ben put him upright, then just seconds later people were there to help. Hunter and I sat in the ambulance while Ben and his family who also came very quickly picked up our lights (only one had anything wrong with it, one of the covering casing broke so we just put that light outside for the porch light where nobody really notices it) and stuff out of the car. The EMT's scared me to death though, they cut Hunter's pants off to check him out and they wouldn't pick him up in case something was wrong, so it made me really nervous to pick him up. They told us that we were very lucky that we didn't get hurt, they said that they guess how the people are going to look when they pull up to the vehicle and were very surprised that we were just fine. They also told us to take him and get him checked out the next day to make sure he was ok. The poor little guy had to go to the doctor 2 days in a row, but everything checked out ok and he seems just as happy as usual! They towed our truck to the mechanics where I went and took a few pics, so here they are (If you look close at the last one you can see glass all over):
***Added 12-18-14: I have come to realize how much of a blessing this accident really was! Shortly after this the Ben was out of work and there would have been no way we could have paid for our house and our truck! I really believe that this wreck happened so that we would be able to survive the next year of barely being able to pay our bills. The insurance ended up totaling our truck, it had a salvage title on it already, so they could have only paid us a portion of what they normally would, but they ended up paying us the full amount it was worth! It really was truly amazing that we came out of this completely unharmed, and the lights all intact! Definitely a blessing, even though it didn't seem like one at the time.***
Well on a happier note here are some pictures from Christmas!!
I knew it had snowed a lot in Kanab so I wanted some long socks for Hunter, but these were the only long ones I could find, which as you can tell are WAY to big for him!!
We got to spend Christmas with my brothers kids while him and his wife and family got to go to Hawaii!! So here are the kids in their new PJ's.
And us as a family in our PJ's.
You can see my mom on the coach, my dad on the right side with his hand on Casey's head and I think Sophie is hidden by the pile of wrapping paper.
Here's Hunter eating a present sitting in his new Bumbo chair Santa brought him and wearing his new cowby hat from my parents!!
Eating another present with his dad.
Trying so hard to get that ribbon to his mouth!
Oh, he got it!
Just a shirt...
I think he liked the wrapping paper better.
And to end the fun of the morning he crashed on my parents bed!!
We had SO much fun, Hunter liked it a lot more than I thought he was going to, he even sort of opened one of his presents. I can't wait til next year when he really can open them!
