Live And Let Die + my interview at Intergloss

Hello everyone! ^^
Did you guys have a fantastic start for the new year, any new year's resolutions? :)

First of all: check out my interview at Intergloss! For this week you can find it on the front page, in the Featured user section. :D

Now for the nails. Since I already tried out GoldenEye & The Spy Who Loved Me in my Christmas manicure, I had one more Bondette to go, Live And Let Die. I must admit I wasn't as excited about this one as I was about the other ones, but it turned out to be a positive surprise!

This was very covering with only one layer, but I wanted a bit more even result so I added another one. At first I thought I'd add some nail art, but then I ran out of time and well, it's nice to have something simple for a change. :) I thought I would be bored with this in two days, but it had just enough of sparkle in it to make me keep it on for a whole week. :D

With direct sunlight
Also as you probably noticed, I cut my nails shorter again... :P
See you soon, I'm planning on doing a little post of my Christmas presents! ^^

Summer nails!

I made this design before taking the henna tattoos!

I love summer and sun. Since I'm now here in UAE, it's already summer for me...^^ I suppose it's still spring in Finland, I've heard that it's getting warmer and snow is gone? Anyway, I wanted to do something summery:

Pretty simple, but I wanted to try out my recent shoppings... :D I used the Simply Smash-ing! by OPI (the Serena Williams -polish) and my new konad plate m29. I love the flower patterns and especially that little pineapple, it's so cute! ^^

Simply Smash-ing! before stamping...
...and in direct sunlight.
I wasn't sure if that's green or golden? It looks more golden in the pictures, but irl it was more greenish. Well, I love the colour anyway!

Käytin näihin uutta OPIn lakkaani, Simply Smash-ing. Kuviot tein konadin laatalla m29. Aika yksinkertaiset, mutta tykkään! ^^

Not Like The Movies

First I want to say Happy May Day to everyone of you! I know it's not the first of may yet, but in Finland we celebrate today. ;) It's called Vappu in Finland and it's a huge event. People wear funny costumes and party... It's like a carnival. Except for me, I suppose I wont be celebrating much this May Day, because in UAE they don't seem to have it... :'D
Anyway, now to the nails. This is the first swatch of the polishes I bought, Not Like The Movies from Katy Perry collection.

I love that polish! First of all the color looks different depending to the lightning. It can look deep purple, shimmery green, green from the sides and purple in the middle or silver grey... And all the time there are these gorgeus tiny silver sparkles shimmering through. So versatile!
It's quite opaque, though, and I used three coats. But I have to say that I'm extremely surprised about how well it stayed on! We went to waterpark Atlantis (it's in Dubai, Palm Jumeirah) on the next day I polished my nais, and I spent six hours in the water. And guess what? The polish didn't crack at all! My nails were still flawless when we left home. I think it's amazing, because last time we were at Atlantis, my nails suffered badly...
Anyway, gorgeus color and long lasting polish. I like! ^^

I tried to take underwater picture but it failed because of the waves... :'D
Lisäksi siinä on ihanaa hopeista kimallusta.
Upean värin lisäksi lakka on todella kestävä. :'D

Mutta hei, Hauskaa Vappua kaikille! ;)

Shoppings!

Okay, want to see what I bought from Helsinki? ;) Take a look!

Aren't they cute!!! ^3^ Everything is from Mic Mac, it's in Forum, Helsinki.

I thought that these would be handy when travelling, and the package is so cute! ^^

The cutest bandages ever! x)
My new lip balm...
It actually smells like lemonade, I just had to buy it... :'D
Isn't it cute? :D
Hehe, what do you think? I went little crazy when I saw all those things there... :'D Mic Mac was full of cute stuff, but I managed to control myself and buy just those... :P
But the best is still ahead: I also bought a new nail polish!

The polish was quite hard to photograph, and these pictures just don't do justice for it (even though it looks already gorgeus...)!
Aaagh I'm in heaven! I've been looking for that polish so long, and when I finally saw it at Stockmann, I couldn't resist and bought it... It's Halley's Comet from Orly Cosmic -collection. I love the whole collection, but I had to choose just one, because they were so expensive... >_< I wanted also Space Cadet, but eventually I decided to go with this. And I love it!!! x) My new favourite nail polish... ^^

Of course I had to try it on my way home, but I took it off because I wanted to polish my nails properly. I had a chance to try out my new nail polish remover pads:

It works!
I was actually very surprised about how well it actually worked...
Look who wanted to help me while I was photographing:

It's Niilo! <3
Isn't she cute? Although not very helpful, she decided to sit on my shoppings and she also tried to eat my camera. :D

Paras ostokseni oli kuitenkin uusi lempparikynsilakkani! Kyseessä on siis Halley's Comet Orlyn Cosmic-kokoelmasta.

Pastels & Lace

The inspiration for these nails is from HERE. The blog is all about super cute stuff, btw, so check it out if you love cute things! ^^
Anyway, the original design was for a little longer nails than mine are now, but I think that it works on my nails too, especially now when they´re not squares anymore.. :') So here's my version:

H&M Pink Mist, H&M Dollar Green, Models Own Lemon Meringue, Nail STAR pink nail art polish and Kiss white nail art polish.

I don't do/have gel nails or acrylics, so I had to use lace stickers and polishes and that's why the design turned out a little bumpy and because there's many layers of polish, it took quite long to dry completely... But I'm very happy with the result anyway!
First I polished one layer of H&M pink mist. Then I did the stripes and laces, they're in different layers so they go on top of each others, u see? I don't know how to explain it shortly, I hope you get the idea by looking the picture. And on top of everything another coat of Pink Mist to make the colors more pale. Then couple layers of top coat. So yeah, there's much going on but I like it. ^^
The green stripes are there because I'm convinced that green is my lucky colour and I have to have something green on my nails when the test week comes, otherwise I'm sure that I'll fail... :'D I know that's weird but I don't dare to try if I could make it without lucky green! And it seems to be working, at least it has until now. Let's hope for the best, this years last (for me) exam week starts tomorrow! x_x
I bought a new base & top coat few days ago but forgot to show it to you guys, I'm sorry... Here it is:

It's Sally Hansen's diamond shine. And I have to say.... I love it! It makes my nails extremely shiny! *_* It even managed to smooth out my bumpy lace manicure a bit. :') I've used that since the polka dot manicure... Although it says that it's top and base coat, I only use it as the top coat. I have GOSH fix base coat, and I stick with that. ^^

That's all this time, wish me luck for the test week! :3

Tämäkertaisiin kynsiin tuli inspiraatio TÄÄLTÄ. Kyseisessä blogissa on muutenkin kaikkea tosi söpöä, käykää katsomassa jos kiinnostaa! ^^

Siinä kaikki tällä kertaa, toivottakaa onnea koeviikolle! :3

Polka Dots

Actually I have two different polka designs to show you! Here we go:

Why Dollar Green looks so grey?? It's really pastel green!
Polishes: H&M Dollar Green and Denim Dreams.
As I promised, something little different for a change. ;) I like the pastel colours, and dots are simple and cute design. :) I don't have a dotting tool, but I figured that this design would be easier to do with some tool so I decided to craft something like that...

Haha, it's far from perfect and looks extremely crappy, but it works! :'D I just poked a pin to rubber-headed pencil...
I did polka nails for couple friends too:

These are Lena's nails!
And the same design for another friend. :) The black polish is GOSH - Nero.
Lena had black nails already and she wanted pink dots. I used the neon pink Sinful Colors -polish, and I definitely like the pink/black combination! :) My friends were happy with their nails too. ^^

Find the differences

I was shopping for prom shoes at Helsinki, and I also bought new crackle -polishes (and found perfect shoes, too!). I'd heard that Depend has now it's own crackle-collection, and I wanted to try that out. Here's what I bought:

Depend pink Crackle Effect and IsaDora black Graffiti -polishes. I haven't tried the pink one yet, but that black is gorgeus! Here's a manicure I did with that:

I used the green Claire's polish as the base.

But.... Guess what? I suppose that IsaDora has run out with their original crackle polish bottles, or how can you explain this:

They almost look like the same with the paper-sealing on, but when you take it away...

How many differences can you find?

Oh noooo! I want my collection to be coherent! D: Well, I could accept the differences between the bottles to that point, but look at this:

Even the brushes are different!!! That ordinary, wide brush is so handy when putting on the crackle polish, because you need only one stroke and there it is, you're ready. But with that ordinary, non-wide brush you need several strokes, and that's very troublesome especially when you have long nails, like I do. The polish starts to crack very quickly, and you can't really fix it after it starts to dry. It has to be pretty much perfect with one stroke... Agh, I'm so frustrated. Luckily the quality of the polish itself is flawless.

Normal, beautiful IsaDora bottle.
The weird, sturdy bottle I dislike. :(
They have just glued on the stickers with the right inci and other information...

Oh, how disappointed I am. :P But there are some good things, I have to say. Though it says on the bottle that it has as much polish as the ordinary bottle, I'm pretty convinced that there's more polish in that bigger bottle. And it's still the same price... ;) And yeah, the crackles still look great on nails, no matter what the bottle looks like! :)

Oh, I almost forgot! I polished my friends' nails too!

I used the pink Sinful Colors -polish as the base and black crackle on the top. I did these for Lena.

Pink gradient and konad on top.
And hey, remember to vote, everyone! You have only 4 days left.... ;)
