Let's Scrap Weekly Sketch

It's Wednesday again, and you know what that means.  Another sketch has been posted at Let's Scrap:

2-29-12
And here is my take on it:
Disney's Electrical Parade
I had more than 75 photos of this parade (Zack counted them!) and was anxious to scrap them.  It was not as hard as I thought to narrow them down to the best few, as many were not very good. I knew I wanted to use the Fireworks paper from Reminisce, so that was my starting point.  I cut the center rectangle with my favorite cricut cartridge - Art Philosophy, but the yellow frame was just too wide, what to do?  I ended up hand cutting it down to about half of the width it started out, and I am glad I did as I still think the yellow is a bit overpowering.  Both the yellow and the red are glittery cardstock, and the blue is metallic. I put little squares cut from extra photos behind the holes in the scalloped border just for fun.  Using a photo for my title made it so easy!  I usually struggle with adding a title that fits in the space I want.  I added a couple of fireworks stickers from my stash, and done! Thanks for looking.

New sketch posted at Let's Scrap

It's Wednesday and that means there is a new sketch posted at Let's Scrap:

And here is my take on it:
I decided I wanted to make a layout instead of a card. With the blog hop going on this month, the gallery is just overflowing with cards.  Everything from my stash. Photo was taken before my daughter Megan's bridal shower last May.  We were all dressed in green and purple.  Thanks for looking.

Scrapbook generation layout

I made this layout with the Scrapbook Generation Super Sketch Club kit for January 2012.  The papers are from the Yearography collection by Simple Stories.  I love this collection and look forward to completing the other 2 layouts in the kit that use it.  I've titled this simply 2011.  The photos are from a few of the highlights from last year such as Megan's engagement and wedding, Mark's 50th birthday, and our trip to Disney.  Thanks for looking.

Final january load layouts

I did a couple final layouts for the January LOAD challenge at Let's Scrap. Its been so busy there with all that is going. Things are really "hopping" with the February blog hop. These last 2 layouts brought my total for the LOAD to 38 pages/cards!

I thought that I could do a couple of layouts pretty quickly by using kits, because I didn't have to do any designing.  However, for the slip n slide layout I had to "punch" out all the different pieces, then I sanded off the little bumps left from where they were attached , then inked all the edges before gluing them together.  And for some reason the whites for the fish eyes were missing so I had to glue the green and black ovals together and glue them down to white cardstock and cut them out freehand. It was fun to do, and I like it.  Both kits are from Legacy Paper Arts.  Thanks for looking.

New Sketch is Posted at Let's Scrap

It's Wednesday and that means its time for a new sketch at Let's Scrap :
And here is my take on the sketch:

I have started scrapping my Disney photos.  I am finding it a bit challenging.  It was a once in a lifetime trip, so I feel like I want the layouts to be special. Despite having 600+ photos, I am finding that I don't have quite the one I wish I had when I start to plan a layout.  For this one, I used a title I had in my Disney theme box from Laser Cut Designs I bought at the Scrapbook Mega Meet in Novi, MI.  I cut the Mickey with my cricut and Sonya helped me glue him together.  Thanks for looking.  I will be baclk later with a few last LOAD layouts.
And don't forget.  The Trip Around the World Blog Hop starts later today at Let's Scrap.  Be sure to check it out, its going to be lots of fun!
