A couple more Got Sketch? 107 layouts

Here are a couple more layouts I have done for Valerie Salmon's GotSketch? 107 class I am currently taking.

Sketch 3: Tae Kwon Do

This layout features chevrons that were cut from 2" strips of paper with a 1 1/2" square punch.  The photos are of Zachary practicing his karate positions in his new "gi". I was in Michaels to get some beads for a project for my daughter and looked for some blue alpha stickers to use on this and found these Tae Kwon Do stickers perfect.

Sketch 4: Brothers

This photo is one that was taken at my daughter's wedding rehearsal dinner of my 2 sons.  They are 21 years apart, and could easily pass for father and son.  In fact, when we are all together we sometimes tease them and pretend we are the grandparents in public just to see how people react (especially Luke's friends/coworkers). This layout has a paper pieced sunburst design.  All the papers came from my scraps.  The star was laying on my work table (left over from the layout above) and I laid it on here to check the size, and decided to use it as it went beautifully with the other papers.  I wasn't sure I was going to add the banners that were on the sketch, but I cut a few to see if I liked them, and I'm glad I did.  I think they really do add something to the layout.  The brads are Queen and Co from my stash, buttons stash, and the title is American Crafts Thickers .

I completed my layout for the second sketch in the Got Sketch 107 course and here it is:

Another layout for my Disney album.  Mickey's Philharmagic was our favorite 3D attraction at Walt Disney World.

Got Sketch 107 Sketch 1

I'm taking Valerie Salmon's latest class, Got Sketch? 107.  If you've never taken one of her classes, I highly recommend them.  She is the one who got me started with using sketches, and the whole internet scrapbooking world.  You can find her here.  It is an 8 week class, with a new sketch each week.  Here is the layout I did for the first sketch:
I used patterned papers from the "Girls Live to Rock" paper pad from the Paper Studio.  Glitter alphas are Thickers (American Crafts), stamped alphas are done with my new "go to" stamp set from CTMH: "Trinity Alphabet".  It has 3 different sized alphabet sets.  I used the medium sized one here.  Thanks for looking.

A few wedding layouts

I am so behind on updating my blog.  Thanks to all my loyal friends for continuing to follow me.  Today I decided I would post a few of the most recent layouts I have completed for Megan's wedding album.  The first two I did at the Close To My Heart "Scrap n Stamp Camp" I attended a couple of weekends ago.
Megan and Sonya
This first layout was done with the 11-10-11ketch from Let's Scrap.  I love this layout.  I was able to incorporate many of the different papers I am using throughout the album.  Most are from Kaisercraft's Chapter One collection.  Photos are some of my favorites that were taken of my 2 daughters before the wedding. I cut the title circle with my new Art Philosophy cricut cartridge from CTMH.  I am loving this cartridge!
Cutting the Cake
The next one is from a Valerie Salmon sketch from Got Sketch Express 2, an online class I recently completed.  Again, I was able to incorporate a nice variety of different papers.  I cut the cake embellishment with the "Tie the Knot" cricut cartridge.  I just love how much it looks like the real cake (this cake was one of the things I had to bite my tongue about).

Everybody Dance

Another Let's Scrap sketch.  I struggled a bit with this one to choose the photos, and get them the size I needed.  I also kept changing the papers.  I cut 3 different heart borders before deciding on this one.  I added some green glitter to the flower stickers from K and Co., I wasn't sure I liked how white they were on this layout.  Photos of the "Cupid Shuffle", I printed out the chorus on the journaling spot.

In the Home Stretch Now!

LOAD #20
"Play"

The prompt for Day 20 was to scrap some random photos, perhaps out of "order".  I had these fun pics laying around that worked beautifully with the first sketch in the Got Sketch? Express 2 class I am also doing that started Sept 20.  I cut the title with the Boys will be Boys cricut cartridge.  Everything here is stash, I especially like the way Flair discs supported the theme.  Fun.

LOAD #21
"Caught in the Act"
For "take a photo Tuesday" we were to use the "emotion" photo we took during the basic training part of the class.  These photos beautifully capture the delightfully naughty side of my son Zachary.  He was mad because I had let both he and his sister take a photo of their dad and me with the Macinac Bridge in the background.  He wanted to know whose was better, and when I told him truthfully that his sister's was because it showed the bridge better, he got mad and put on this little display.  I captured it forever with my camera! The blue paper on the right side has words like "naughty" and "sassy" all over it.  I've had it in my stash for ages.  Afterwards, I thought I should have used a camera accent? But it is done, and I am pleased with it.  Another Valerie Salmon sketch from Got Sketch? 103.

Can't believe we are three weeks in to LOAD, and I am still keeping up!  Only 5 more days to go.  Thanks for looking.

Club Got Sketch? layouts

I am currently taking the latest class with Valerie Salmon, Club Got Sketch?  Here are two layouts I did as part of the class.  Valerie's sketches are always fun to work with and help me to create great layouts.

This first one features photos of my new van.  At 47 years old, this is my first new car!  The circles were cut from a printed circle paper from my stash.  I cut the alphas from craft foam using my original Sizzix.  I hate how much material is wasted between the letters, however,I used 1/2 of a sheet of foam from a pack of 50 sheets that I got for less than $3.00!  I love the look and so affordable!

For this next one, I used papers from Cosmo Cricket's Snorkel collection.  The photos are of my kids playing in a friend's pool last summer.  My older daughter Megan is so rarely with us anymore, so these photos of her playing with her younger siblings are extra special.  I cut the sun, the fish, and the various circles from printed papers.  I cut the water splats freehand from glitter paper, and added a few fish brads, all from my stash. As a final touch, I printed my journaling on a Snorkel journaling spot.

A Couple more Layouts

This first layout is from a kit by Legacy Paper Arts.  I rarely have photos from New Year's Eve, so I decided to use some of Megan's for this fun kit.  I cut the title with my cricut using the Celebrate with Flourish Cricut Lite cartridge.  I had a couple of different metallic gold papers, but neither one of them matched as well as I would have liked.

This next layout is from the pre-class challenge at Club Got Sketch?  The class started March 21, and I finally got a layout done.  I just love Valerie Salmon, and have taken all her online sketch classes.
This layout feature the Save the Date card for Megan's wedding.  They have chosen kelly green as their wedding color, so I wanted to use black/white/kelly green for the layout.  Less than 5 months to go!

The "Cabin"

Here is another layout I created for the Got Sketch? 106 class with Valerie Salmon.  I used pics from our work weekend at our "vacation" home in East Jordan last summer.  I used patterned paper from Three Bugs in a Rug.  Border punch is EK Success, this one is fast becoming a favorite.  Flowers and brads are all Sassafras.
