Scrapbooking Global August Blog Hop Memories and More School Days

Welcome to our Scrapbooking global August Blog Hop.
This month we have a Memories & More theme happening - but wait there's more - a secondary theme of School Days. I picked this theme as I have a plethora of school photos needing to get out of packets and into albums. For this hop we have 18 Scrapbooking Global members hopping with us. If you have joined me from Sara's blog please continue the hop using the next button at the bottom of my page.

So this is page one of a 2 page spread of my eldest daughters graduation day at school - In Australia we have Primary then High school, High school goes years 7-12 after that they can go into the big wild world get a full time job or choose to further their studies in an area they choose.

I found some sayings I liked off the internet tweaked them to be all fancy with a design program I have and then printed them on Whisper White cardstock. I frequently make my own cards this way as it extends my options. The stack of books are from the Hand Delivered Host set coloured with Stampin' Blends. The photo below is her year advisor - the teacher allocated to what was her year 7 class that then follows them through to year 12 as a support person as well as a teacher.

What would school be without our friends - it is well known that some of these friendships will last a lifetime. Yes there is a blank Memories & More card there - that is for my daughter to add her friends names to once I had shared my page here. There is a pun included on this page as my daughters 2 best friends have the last name Clover - yes they are twins and they look nothing alike. I traced the school emblem onto Whisper White then fussy cut it for one of the slots and the 2 spares I added some DSP to for some 'texture'.

Here are the jpegs of the sayings for you.

So thank you for stopping by hopefully I have helped inspire you to get your school photos into an album or 2. Please continue on our hop and visit Sue in the UK by clicking the next button below.

Stampin' Up! Australia On Stage Live with Courtenay Heuston Bird Banter Sneak Peek!

Hi I'm Courtenay a Stampin' Up Demonstrator in Australia and this has been an amazing week for me and my family.
My eldest daughter finished High School and had her formal - next day I headed to Melbourne for the November 2017 On Stage Local event - bonus this bag of nerves got to product spotlight the new Bird Banter Stamp set from the Upcoming 2018 Occasions Catalogue!
The start of the show was not me but Roy! He is my super cheeky and very noisy Cockatoo.

This is Roy

Roy was super impressed with the Cockatoo stamp and I fell in love with the balloon!
I used the Cockatoo stamp and embossed the Crushed Curry card for a textured background before using the large letters for my page title. I used the Perfect Days Memories & More Pack in my pockets and the Bird Banter stamp set to compliment my photos.

Because Roy has so many friends come to visit - not only do I get no passion fruit off my vine but I have some extra mouths that demand to be fed! I used a piece of copy paper to mask the front Cockatoos so I could stamp the back row. they are coloured with the new Stampin' Blends but the markers and watercolour pencils would also work.

I have a heap more sample to photograph and share over the coming weeks so pop back frequently to see what's new - Happy Stampin' everyone.

Stampin' Up! Memories & More - GSF Bloghop 15: Anything but cards

Welcome back for a Global Stamping Friends Blog hop - this months brief was 'Anything but cards' so I have chosen to add some Memories & More pages to my albums. Please don't judge I am way behind and after13 years - 3 kids - through these mmm lets say not fun to scrapbook coloured school uniforms I am so glad my youngest has moved to High School!

Did you hop here from MemoryINKers? Karie always has great projects to share doesn't she and her snowfalake Christmas tree is no exception? Please continue to hit the next button below and see what everyone else has to show us there's some amazingly talented people in the big wide web world.

Our little school has a tradition of the leaving kids ringing the old school bell and my Miss T was super excited about it. They run the last school assembly for the year with some crazy skits, get their shirts defaced with love from their friends and the mothers cry whilst taking a bucket load of photos - well this one did anyway!

I cut this big card down as I love the saying and it was so appropriate for this last day of primary school for my youngest daughter. I have combined 2 of our Memories & More packs to make these pages - the Perfect Days Pack and the Color Theory Pack- both available in the Annual Catalogue.

Thank you for popping on past please hit the next button to see Ellen's beautiful Christmas decorations.

Remebering Nutcote

It was a stinkin' hot 37 degrees here today on the beautiful Central Coast of Australia. I would say in my book it was even to hot to hit the beach so it was a stay at home and scrap kind of day with the AC on full ball.

I am so far behind on my memory keeping albums so today rather than start something new I finished some pages I started a while back. I don't Project Life traditionally, I don't do the week to week thing but what I do do is use Project Life to record special events or outings with my family.

March 2015 (I know almost 2 years ago) we visited Nutcote - the home of May Gibbs. Its found in beautiful Neutral Bay and now owned by North Sydney Council. It's purpose is to cherish May Gibbs’ home, garden and life by offering memorable experiences and rewarding learning opportunities.

Why did we visit Nutcote? Well 2 of my children Eilish and Tara were in a stage production of Snugglepot & Cuddlepie. The Director thought it would be a great team building exercise (insert learning experience here) for the kids and a great family day out for everyone. They were not wrong.

I saw the show twice as any good Mummy does - once to snap photos and the other to sit and enjoy. One of my friends was behind the scenes so she snagged me some great photos from backstage as well. Project Life scrapbooking made this so easy to do as I had so many photos and of course wanted to include as many as possible.

The girls had their main characters - Eilish was Lanky Legs (rather appropriate as she was one of the tallest and oldest kids in the cast) a Bull Frog! She also played a blossom - I loved the little knitted hats with fluff about the edges just like a real gum nut blossom has.
Miss Tara was a Blue Cap Wren - she was chuffed she got to wear a Tutu and I made her a black and brown feather cover with wings - she looked pretty impressive if I do say so myself.

Do you know the story of Snugglepot & Cuddlepie? Part of the story involves an underwater scene with Fish Folk - the play has a Ball so all the cast dressed as fish in their sparkly fine clothing, Eilish a Whiting and Tara a Rainbow fish (glad I had that sparkly rainbow dress already so bonus for me).
I pulled out a favourite retired stamp set of mine to add a little fun to this page - Fishy Friends (2003) its a bit hard to see in the photo but the Wink of Stella was a true asset!

So what goodies did I use on my pages today to compliment my photos?

Project Life holiday fun.

Project Life - remembering one page at a time!
I have been a Scrapbooker for a long time but often left overwhelmed by the massive number of photos I take and the need to showcase them all.
Project Life Memory keeping has changed the way I showcase my photos and record the story that is my life.
I don't go with the traditional week by week pages that Project life lends itself to but use it to compliment the traditional 12x12 pages that I still love to complete.
Recently we took a family holiday for 8 days - well we came home with almost 2500 photos! Taken on 3 cameras, 2 phones and by the Dreamworld staff between us we got some great shots.
We spent 3 days at Dreamworld including a day at the water park - White Water World that's linked to Dreamworld.
Here's some of the pages that I have done so far - can you see the scrappy influences - I just cant eave anything to flat!

One could not walk past the DreamWorks Experience - We love King Julien

Goldrush Country was visited each day as we all loved the River Rapids ride.

The girls (well 2 of them) really wanted to pat a Tiger and this made their day.
