Sailing Into Father's Day

Hi stampers!  VBS is kicking my rear :-)  In the best way of course!  I had planned to blog more and maybe even stamp but 300+ kids, dancing and keeping up with Ian while Jon is out of town has proved too much for me, lol!  Tomorrow is the last day so hopefully I can rest up and get my act together then!

I did at least manage to get another Father's Day card done.  I think I'll give this one to my dad.  It's based loosely on a card on the cover of the catalog.

I sponged part of the label shape for a bit of an ombre effect.  A sponge brayer would have worked better but I was too lazy to do that (lol) so I used a regular old sponge.  I just love that print on the DSP!

Now, will Jon's present get here in time?  I was all ahead of the game for once and wouldn't you know, the store at the mall was out of what I was going to get him and of course the shipping hasn't updated to see if it will be here in time.  The best laid plans, ya'll! :-)

Anyway, maybe I'll FINALLY decide on my first new catalog order tonight!  I haven't ordered STILL!  Eeeeee!

Happy stamping!

Manly Monday

Hi stampers and happy Monday!  I am dragging over here today and probably will be for the foreseeable future.  We had thunderstorms last night like from 1:30-4.  I don't sleep great when it storms anyway but our little doggie FREAKS out.  I was kept up by her for almost that whole time.  Send help and coffee!  Unfortunately, it's supposed to storm again tomorrow and tomorrow night and they say it will be really bad Wednesday night.  EEK!  Why can't it get it all over with in the day time????

Anyway, I've got a card I cased from the upcoming catalog!  The samples on the cover and inside the catalog are really what sold me on this suite, they are just fabulous.  The sentiment also seems fitting for this week, LOL!  It's also a great masculine card which I don't do often!  The main panel is Seaside Spray which is a really pretty new in color.  The Sailing Home Bundle is just really great!

Take a look at the detail and texture on this Come Sail Away DSP, I just love it!  Isn't that fantastic?

I changed the sentiment from the card in the catalog but other than that, I made it just the same.  I thought this one was more useful.

Off to rest up while I can...or as much as a little someone here will let me!

Happy stamping!

Storms Of Life

Hi stampers!  The title of my post is basically the theme for this week weather wise here in Tulsa.  I love spring but I hate storms!  And I really dislike dreary days when they just keep goooooiiiinnnnggggg.  If things continue like this like they are supposed to, I won't have any light to take photos all week.

Anyway, I'm sharing a make and take from OnStage today.  They actually didn't have the dies at the event so I waited until I got home and got my order to finish this card, which I did over the weekend.

This suite really isn't super "me" but the samples on the cover of the catalog and the suite's page inside did me in!  I figured it was a good masculine set to have as well.

This sample is notecard size.  The background is watercolored in Balmy Blue, I think.  I've slept since the event, ha!  I really like the dies that come with this bundle!  It's the Come Sail Away Suite in case I didn't mention it,  I can't add most of this to the supply list so I'll do a little bullet list here:

  • Sailing Home Bundle (Sailing Home Stamp Set & Smooth Sailing Dies)
  • Come Sail Away DSP
  • Baker's Twine (Night of Navy and Sahara Sand)
  • Sail Away Trinkets
  • Watercolor Paper
  • Whisper White Cardstock
  • Crumb Cake Cardstock
  • Soft Suede Cardstock
  • Balmy Blue Cardstock
  • Night Of Navy Inkpad
  • Soft Suede Inkpad
  • Balmy Blue Inkpad
I love the stitched accents in some of these dies!  And this DSP is gorgeous!  I really don't think this card does it justice!  Some of the colors and prints are just so pretty!

Happy stamping!
