Fluffles in action!

This is a birthday card I made for a friend using one of my favorite cat stamps: Fluffles by Stampendous. This fluffly ball is always shown in comic situations or with a comic look upon his face.

Detail of the gift. I've added Frosted Lace Stickles on it + a ribbon and raised it with 3D adhesives.

By the way...I think I'm on the right path to collect all Fluffles stamps...... No comment! :-p

Thank you and birthday cards + an ATC + a calendar

One of my online friends, Michelle from Sri Lanka, had her birthday lately. Here are a few things I sent her lately, both for her birthday and also to thank her for the fabulous prize I won on her blog in June.

Here is the thank-you card. You will probably recognize Betsy Bluebell from Penny Black.

I colored the stamped image with Promarkers and added a real tag to the bouquet.

Now, this is the birthday card I made using the pumpkin Nestabilities, embossed with a Cuttlebug embossing folder, and Marianne D dies for the leaves. As Michelle's birthday was on Oct. 24th I gave it a little (a big!) Halloweeny feeling...

The pumpkin bear is a digital stamp by Dustin Pike (DoodleDragons) colored with Promarkers. The sentiment is by Hero Arts and belongs to the Cupcake clear set I won on Michelle's blog.

Then I made an Atc, still Halloween theme, inspired my the card I made a few weeks ago:

 The ghost, the spider and spiderweb are from the Owl-oween clear set by Hero Arts. The spider doesn't show very well even though there's some Glossy Accents on it. The background is made with alcohol inks.

To complete this, I made a little calendar for "dates to remember", using my Bind-it-all:

Again, the owl is a digi stamp by Dustin Pike. I really love his drawings. The clouds are from Hero Arts. I clear embossed the stamp and heat it with blue embossing powder with my heat-gun. I run the green paper through my Cuttlebug to make the grass.

Voici quelques petites choses que j'ai envoyées à Michelle (du Sri Lanka) pour son anniversaire dernièrement et aussi pour la remercier du "blog candy" que j'ai gagné sur son site en juin dernier.

Sur la carte de remerciements, j'ai utilisé le tampon transparent "Betsy Bluebell" de Penny Black et ai ajouté une "vraie" étiquette au bouquet.

La carte d'anniversaire est très marquée "Halloween" puisque l'anniversaire de Michelle tombe le 24 octobre. La citrouille est une Nestabilities, embossée avec la Cuttlebug. Les feuilles sont des dies de Marianne D. A l'intérieur, l'ours habillé en citrouille est un digi stamp de Dustin Pike. Le sentiment est de Hero Arts.

J'ai ajouté à ça une Atc faites avec des tampons du set Owl-oween de Hero Arts, inspirée de la carte que j'avais faite il y a quelques temps.

Et pour finir, j'ai fait un petit calendrier perpetuel pour noter les dates à retenir. La chouette est aussi un digi stamp de Dustin Pike (que j'ai retournée et un peu effacée pour la faire de dos). Les nuages sont un tampon Hero Art et l'herbe est faite avec la Cuttlebug.

After my big owl in her bikini in June, I submitted another card to the Hero Arts July contest. The theme was "Travel and food" and  I choose food. I had this card in mind as soon as the theme was announced. Don't ask why. Actually I did really "see" it. I just had to make it and I came up with this:

On July 22, this card has been chosen by the Hero Arts team as one of the "Fab Five" on the Hero Arts blog! Awesome! I must say I couldn't believe it when I checked out the blog this day!

Like the other Flickr friends featured on the HA blog this day, I won a 50$ prize and had to choose among their products. Not hard!

And this week I received my gift! I was so excited when I saw the package in my mailbox!

Après ma chouette en bikini de juin, j'ai soumis une nouvelle carte pour le concours Hero Arts de juillet. Le thème était "Nourriture et voyage", j'ai choisi "nourriture". J'ai eu cette carte en tête dès l'annnonce des thèmes. En fait, je la visualisais carrément. Il ne me restait plus qu'à la faire. 


Le 22 juillet, jour des résultats de la première session du concours, j'ai eu la surprise de voir ma carte publiée sur le blog de Hero Arts, choisie pour figurer parmi les "Fab Five" ("les cinq fabuleuses créations") ! Incroyable ! Comme les autres gagnants, je me suis vue offrir un bon d'achat de 50 dollars dans la boutique Hero Arts. Autant dire que je n'ai eu aucun mal à choisir !


Cette semaine, nouvelle surprise dans ma boite aux lettres : j'ai reçu mon colis !

Kitties love water!*

If you don't know it already, I'm a cat lover. Actually I tend to collect stamps with cats and I must say my collection has (greatly...) increased within two months. I rediscovered Margaret Sherry's drawings that I had cross-stitched 7 or 8 years ago through Penny Black stamps. Obviously I had to order "a few" of them!

Here are two cards I made with these PB stamps so far.

I made this one for a friend of mine - an ex-coworker who found a new job lately after she was made redundant. She's a cat lover too so I thought this kitty in his bath would be great to celebrate her new job with a relaxing glass of Champagne!

I colored it with watercolor pencils. I love this coloring technique more and more, but I'm still far from being comfortable with it and I need to look at what has already been done to apply the colors.

Penny Black Clear Stamps "Bubbly"

I've added a touch of Glossy Accents to give a glossy touch to the bubbles.

This second card is actually the first Penny Black stamp I tried after I received my order. I made it for a friend's birthday who loves both cats and swimming pools!

Si vous n'êtes pas déjà au courant, j'adore les chats. En fait, j'ai une grosse tendance à collectionner les tampons sur ce thème... et je dois dire que ma collection a (largement) augmenté en deux mois. J'ai même redécouvert les motifs de Margaret Sherry que je brodais il y a 7 ou 8 ans à travers les tampons Penny Black. Je ne pouvais pas faire autrement que passer une commande de "quelques" tampons... :)

Voici une carte que j'ai faite pour une ancienne collègue, pour fêter le CDI obtenu après un licenciement économique. Elle adore les chats également, donc j'ai pensé que ce minet en train de siroter une coupe de champagne dans son bain serait bien approprié à la situation. J'ai utilisé des crayons aquarellables pour colorer l'image mais je ne suis pas encore très à l'aise avec cette technique. J'ai encore besoin de prendre modèle sur des cartes réalisées par d'autres que moi pour bien appliquer les couleurs, surtout les ombres. Ne sait pas dessiner qui veut ! J'ai ajouté quelques touches de Glossy Accents pour mettre les bulles en valeur.

La 2ème carte est en fait la première que j'ai faite après réception de ma commande. Elle était destinée à une amie qui aime à la fois les chats et faire des longueurs à la piscine !

A nurse for my Goddaughter

Here is a card I made yesterday for my goddaughter's birthday. She's a nurse and has just found a new job so I thought she would love this funny little girl with her big glasses and big smile on her face.

'Nurse Gillian' is a digital stamp from Prairie Fairy Designs. I colored it with Promarkers (still learning), except the cheeks where I applied my own blush! In the rush to mail the card in time, I forgot to put some Glossy Accents on her glasses. Oh well...

Une petite carte pour l'anniversaire de ma filleule. Elle est infirmière et vient de trouver un nouveau job donc j'ai pensé que cette petite fille marrante lui plairait.
'Nurse Gillian' est un tampon digital de Prairie Fairy Designs. Je l'ai colorié avec des Promarkers (enfin j'apprends...), sauf les joues sur lesquelles j'ai appliqué mon propre blush !
 Et dans la précipitation, j'ai oublié de mettre du Glossy Accents sur les lunettes... Tant pis !
