May's Sketch Challenge!

Here's the sketch!
Feel free to take the sketch, flip it, flop it, and make it your own. The only rules are to use the sketch in some recognizable way and to have fun. Enter your project below for the chance to win a fabulous prize. You don't have to use Bombshell's stamps, but if you do, you'll get an additional chance to win!

Here's my take on the sketch using the Western Gal set, which is available in both rubber and digital formats.

Now that I've shown you mine, the Bombshell Girls and Pin-Ups are going to show you theirs!

Peek-a-Boo Geisha Card

Hello! Ms. April here.

Have you seen the awesome sketch for April? If not go check it out!

I made a card out of the Peek-a-Boo Geisha digital stamp set using this month's sketch. I have a friend who lived in Japan and she sent me amazing Japanese "Fancy" paper. I have been itching to use it for some time. Finally I got my chance! This is what I did with it:

Peek-a-Boo Geisha digital stamp set

One of the options with the Peek-a-Boo Geisha digital stamp set is a blank umbrella which is what I used for this card. I simply cut down two different kinds of pattern paper and placed it in the umbrella sections. I then used a black pen to draw in the lines to distinguish the segments. I finished it off with a black "Sparklet".
I used pop dots to adhere her to the card for some dimension.

Make sure you check out this month's sketch and play along! Until next time -- HAPPY CRAFTING!

Pin Up Calendar

Hello BOMBSHELLS! Ms. April, Betsie, here! I hate to admit this...well...no I don't....but I have a ton of Bombshell Pin Ups. I thought it would be fun to create a "Pin Up" Calendar with them. I did not associate a year with it because I am not sure if I am going to keep it for myself or give it away. There is a good chance that it will not find a home until 2017 ;-) Therefore, I left the dates blank for now.

Here it is:

I had to keep the entire calendar as flat as possible so it can be hung on a wall and written on. I used Copic markers to color in my Pin Ups and watercolor pencils for the background.

Ms. March – Mermaid Anchor and Banner Sayings sets

Ms. April – Girl's Ruin set

Ms. May – Lucky Bride set

Ms. June – Hawaiian Girl set

Ms. July – Butterfly Queen set

Ms. August – Hula Girl set

Ms. September – Rise and Shine set

Ms. October – Pirate's Life and Holiday Accessory sets

Ms. November – Mermaid Treasure set

Ms. December – Man's Ruin and Holiday Accessory sets

As you can tell, I used the same page design for each month. I wanted to keep it consistent and really let the girl take center stage. I also used the banner stamp and wrote the month. The Holiday Accessories set was used in October and December to make it a bit more festive.
Until next time -- HAPPY CRAFTING! :-D

Ms. September's Challenge!

Jenn Cochran, Bombshell's Ms. September, has issued a "Layer It Up" challenge. Use at least three layers of paper, paint, ink, ribbon, etc. to create your Bombshell project.

Here are some of the multi-layered projects by our Bombshell Girls and Pin-Ups!

Here are 5 layers piled on nice and neat...  a striped stamped card base, an embossed white layer, a teal mat, another background stamped layer in coral, and then that wicked devil from Bombshell Stamps' Cherry Bomb set.

Here's a shot from the side so you can really see the layered dimension.  Two sets of layers are adhered using some dimensional adhesive for even more pop.

Alaine has a whopping 8 layers in one little area under the bow. :-) She used Peek-A-Boo Geisha.

Kim used 4 layers of cardstock and 3 layers of Coffins

Susie has used Panther Tattoo and 5 layers of card, papers and photos.

Meet Ms. June!

Sharon Rogers is Bombshell's Ms. June. She colors beautifully and has a real flair for design!

Here's her little interview!

1. Brief info about yourself, including your name, where you live, your family (if you want), etc.
I'm Sharon and am married with two teenage daughters, two Labradors, one Jack Russell, and two cats!!! I live Down Under in South Australia!

2. How long have you been stamping and/or crafting?
I have been crafting for over 20 years - stamping, sewing, card making, and all sorts of other crafts!

3. What are your favorite Bombshell sets and why?
I don't have heaps of Bombshell Stamps but I do love the Peek-a-Boo Geisha Digital Set as I love all things Asian especially Japanese papers, I also have the Gingerbread Pin-Ups Set - they are quirky and a bit different so I like to create with them.

4. What kind of projects do you like to do?
I love to make anything and everything - I tend to make more cards than anything else, but love altered art and construction type creations as well.I also love to use my sewing machine on projects!

5. What are your favorite coloring mediums?
I love Copic Markers but also occasionally use watercolours and chalks.

6. Describe your crafting "style".
A hard question because I love all styles from Vintage, Asian, Arty, Modern & Cute - anything goes!

7. Describe your crafting process. Do you start with a stamp set? A sketch? A technique you want to use?
I usually get inspired by images, sketches, or colours. Quite often I imagine what I want to make and then create it!

8. Do you have any other hobbies?
No other hobbies - just crafting - that is my time for myself and helps me relax.

9. Free for all including little facts, etc. about you.
LOL I am a Turf Management Contractor (Greenkeeper) - a male dominated industry - and I drive a truck for work and operate all types of specialised turf machinery! I'm not very girly - I would rather shop at a hardware or tool shop than a dress shop LOL! BUT I LOVE PINK - figure that out?????!!

Now that you've gotten to know her a bit better, here are some of her favorite Bombshell projects!

After feasting your eyes on these projects, I'm quite sure that you'll want to see more of her work, so feel free to check out her blog!
