Sacred Heart & Mi Amor Greeting Card

Hello!
Rachael here, today I'm bringing you a newly designed card using Sacred Heart and the heart icon from Mi Amor.

To create this card I first selected the images that I wanted to use.  I wanted to use my new stamp set, Sacred Heart and a small rose from the Mi Amor set.

and

I then selected my color palette and then my printed papers.

I stamped the main heart image from Sacred Heart twice onto blank white card stock. I colored the heart and fire of one heart and the bramble vine of the other. I then cut out the vine of the second and glued it down to the first stamped and colored image. I then cut out the entire image.

I stamped, colored and cut out the wings from the same set.

On a strip of red card stock I stamped the small red rose from Mi Amor as a background stamp.

I used my Spellbinders Nestabilities Classic Ovals Small (using the largest oval) and cut out and embossed an oval of white card stock.

I sized my black base paper, the black and white checkered paper and the red strip.  I distressed each piece of paper (except the white oval) with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Antique Linen first and then Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Walnut Stain.  I then glued the black card base down to a white card base.

I popped the checkered paper off of the black base.

I glued down the wings I had colored and cut out down to the classic oval I had cut out previously.  I then popped off the flaming heart image of the background and adhered it to the wings. I then glued down the oval to the card base.

I finished off this card with three half pearls in the far right corner.

I hope you enjoyed this project and it inspires you!

Cheers!

Rachael

Señora Muertas Necklace Tutorial

Hi Everyone!

I've been using a lot of shrink plastic lately for projects, and since I have never used Bombshell Stamps on shrink plastic (I know, crazy right?!) I thought I'd give it a shot! I know there are already some really great tutorials on using your Bombshell Stamps to make shrink plastic charms (which I love!) so I hope you will like my take on this subject. One of my favorite stamp sets is Mi Amor, so I chose to use the Senora Muertas Stamp and the Rose Stamp to make this necklace.

List of Supplies:
-Bombshell Stamps - Mi Amor Stamp Set
-Staz-On Ink in Jet Black
-Copic Markers
-Shrink Plastic - White
-Embossing Heat Gun/Tool
-Spellbinders Dies - Labels One Nestabilities Die; Fleur De Lis Squares Nestabilities Die
-Embossing Machine and Plates (I used my Cuttlebug)
- 1/4" circle hand (hole) punch (Mine are by Fiskars)
- 1 lobster claw clasp
- Needle Nose Pliers
- Flat Nose Pliers
- Jump Rings

- Jewelry Chain

First, I cut out shrink plastic in my Cuttlebug. To make the main pendant/charm that Senora Meurtas will be going on, I used the Spellbinders Die Labels One Nestabilities. To make the 4 smaller charms for the roses, I used the second smallest Fleur De Lis Squares Nestabilities Die.

Then I stamped the images onto the shrink plastic using Staz-On Ink in Jet Black. It's a little difficult to stamp onto the shrink plastic, so to avoid it from sliding around too much, I used a little bit of regular tape to tape the shrink plastic die cut shape down. Make sure to not tape onto the area of where you want to stamp. (Tip: If you have stamped onto the shrink plastic and the image got messed up or didn't transfer all the way, you can use a little bit of staz-on ink cleaner and a paper towel to clean the ink off of the shrink plastic, after the cleaner dries you can try stamping your image again.)

After the ink dried, I removed the tape and using 1/4 inch hole punch, punched holes on the corners (see picture) and then colored in my stamped image and colored a border around the edges with Copic Markers and let it dry.

Once dry, I used my embossing heat gun to shrink the charms and then let them cool off.

Now it's time to assemble the necklace! I used three jump rings to attach each charm together, then on the last rose charms, I used a jump ring to attach 6 inches of chain. At the end of the chain on one side I attached a jump ring and on the other side, I attached a jump ring and a lobster clasp.

Some tips I learned while making this necklace:
1 - You can overheat shrink plastic. (Next time I will be more careful!)
2 - Make sure the Copic Markers are completely dry before shrinking the plastic otherwise while it curls and twists when it's shrinking, the copic marker ink will move to areas you don't want it to be (you know, like the areas that are supposed to be white...)
3 - Use lighter colored markers. I liked the colors I used, but after the charm is shrunk the colors will be much darker.

Have fun creating your Bombshell necklaces! Just think of all the awesome different necklaces you can make by using different shaped dies and mixing up Bombshell Stamps sets.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial!
If you have any questions please ask below or in the Bombshell Stamps Forum. (Don't forget there is still time to sign up for the Halloween Blog Hop while you're there!)   =)

Have a Happy Friday!

World Card Making Day Blog Tour!

The Bombshell Girls and Pin-Ups are pleased to be taking part in the World Card Making Day Blog Tour.

World Card Making Day is a holiday especially for card makers around the world to:
• Celebrate the creativity of handmade cards and the personal connection that they create between friends and family.
• Kick off (and get a head start on) the holiday card-making season.

This year, World Card Making Day coincides with Mad Hatter Day. Therefore, the Bombshell Girls decided to merge the two holidays into one and make cards that feature one or more hats!

So without further ado...

Rachael made this tag featuring Mi Amor and the heart from Madonna Woodcut.
I added the crown for Mad Hatter Day and dry embossed it in gold.
This was my first time playing with Distress Stain!

Susie using Butterfly Queen has also added the crown from the same set.

The helmet is from Vintage Motorcylces in honor of Mad Hatter Day and the bike itself is from Harley Bikes.   Both images are colored with Copics.  The greeting is from the Vintage Motorcycles set, heat embossed.  Shading with Distress inks.  Embossed silver cardstock using a Tim Holtz embossing folder.  Misc. ribbon.

In honor of Mad Hatter Day...I transmogrified Bombshell Angel into the Madhatter himself (er, herself). Clean cup! Clean Cup! Move DOWN!

Christine, used the Witch Costume from the Halloween Costume Digital Stamp set, together with the pin-up from Bombshell Angel.

Alison used Calaveras Fiesta, and the pirate's hat from Pirate's Life

The orange wheel actually rotates so that the skeleton can wear 5 different hats.

You can see the other hats on Alison's Blog
