Moebius - Titan Books reprints (part 3)

Continuing from my previous post (here and here) concerning Moebius's work being reprinted by Titan books in the late 1980s - you get a lot of (just great) comics for your money in these volumes as they're pretty long, but they do seem pretty hard to get hold of, and pretty costly even when you do find them. Anyway, here's the final selection of volumes...

I've looked at Comics calendars before (see here and here) but didn't realise there had ever been any Judge Dredd calendars before until a conversation about it popped up on the '2000AD & Judge Dredd tat and chat' facebook group.

I started looking for traditional 'wall' calendars for this post but I've decided to expand it to look at all types of calendars. All new material is in red.

So with thanks to Ian Anorak Hollingsworth (and ebay!) here we go...

Garry Leach artwork

Like many people I was shocked to learn of the death yesterday of artist Garry Leach. There wasn't enough of his artwork in my childhood so I when I became aware of his work later on in life I was always pleased to discover it. Here's what I've showcased on the blog previously...

It's in 3-D so suggest you see if you can find an old pair so that you can enjoy the strip in all its glory!

*and quite possible other Fleetway titles produced on this date (2000AD?)

I loved the VC's strip (which I saw in those Quality comics reprints) and I understand the covers for these books, although unsigned, is by Garry.

Continuing from my previous post (here) concerning Moebius's work being reprinted by Titan in the late 1980s - you get a lot of (just great) comics for your money in these volumes as they're pretty long, but they do seem pretty hard to get hold of, and pretty costly even when you do find them. 

I picked up 4 of the 5 volumes in this set in a comic shop in France a couple of Summer's back, I've read volume 1 (and it was just fantastic) but I'm missing volume 4 - the search continues!

Moebius - Titan Books reprints (part 1)

A recent acquisition of a Moebius book pushed me to the internet to track down what other volumes there are in this series - subtitled 'The collections fantasies of Jean Giraud'.

I seem to recall they were advertised for years in Comics International as remaindered books - this lack of interest now means that the books seem to be very expensive - prices from £30 upwards. Yikes. Good luck getting hold of an affordable set.
