Mega Mag - an incomplete history

I looked here at Clarks Mega Mag #4

and now (hidden away on an ebay listing) I've spotted this...yes it's the cover to Mega Mag #1

Interestingly you can't quite see if it's branded as Clarks (in the top left corner) but we can be pretty sure it IS from Clarks as the red banner in the bottom right says "Free! When you purchase any Clarks childrens shoes" - else 40p

Anyone spotted a cover to issue #3 yet?

Clarks - Mega Mag #4

I'd noted before (here) the existence of a publication from the shoe sellers Clark's of a 'Mega Mag'. That was issue #2 and now, thanks to friend of the blog John Freeman and German ebay, we can say that the Mega Mag ran to at least 4 issues. See images below. 

No mention of the X-Men in this issue. If you know of further issues do get in touch!

Clarks - Mega Mag #2

I recently spotted this 'magazine' for sale via the always ace Kev Sutherland (his ebay store is here).

It appears to be some sort of promotional comic/magazine for Clarks shoe shop. This is clearly issue 2 but what did issue 1 look like? Did it run to any more issues? Were there other comic strips included apart from X-Men? We may never know but I've added this to my list of comics I wish I knew more about! 

OK maybe 'comic' is stretching it a bit but I'm still intrigued by this!
