Fleetway prints from 1988

A recent discovery (for me anyway) were this set of limited edition prints that Fleetway publications produced in 1988. These were in limited editions of 500 and were signed by the relevant artist. Check out this ebay seller for the chance to buy 'em.

There were 9 prints produced in total, again thanks to ebay seller deedee234

Original cover for Earthside 8 revealed!

This original piece of art by Brett Ewins was up for sale recently (it sold for £77.90). I've snagged these images for posterity because this art was used as the cover for the 2000AD spin-off comic that never was, Alternity.

Here's what the dummy looked like. According to this site the material in Alternity had been re-cycled from the aborted Earthside 8 (2000AD spin-off comic) title...

...we can see here that this should have been used as the front cover to Earthside 8 (rather than the Dave Gibbons image that was used).

The mercy giants & Brett Ewins

I'm indebted to friend of the blog Nevs Coleman for bringing this super obscure Brett Ewins comic, We think so loud,  to my attention. All these images were sourced from here - good luck adding this to your collection, it's super rare!

Johnny Nemo vintage t-shirt

I'm always happy to feature a bit of vintage comics merchandise on the blog and today is no exception! Here are some images (swiped from an ebay sale some months ago) of a vintage Johnny Nemo t-shirt. Art from Deadline by Brett Ewins. Co-creator credit to Peter Milligan by the looks of it.

Johnny Nemo posters

There's always room on the blog for Brett Ewins art and there's definitely always room for Johnny Nemo as well. Here are some itmes that I've spotted on ebay recently - Johnny Nemo posters by Brett Ewins. I'm assuming there are probably other posters out there, but you've got to start somewhere with this stuff.

Do let me know of any posters that I could include in a future update - thanks!

After Image fanzine

I'm grateful to friend of the blog Ewan Brownlow for today's covers gallery. This is a fanzine that I've always liked the look of but only have one issue of (#3). For fellow fanzine collectors then this is what you're looking for.

Note that Lew Stringer also produced a fanzine called After Image which these issues are not to be confused with.

No.1 and 2 are super rare and had no distribution beyond ACE
No.3 was given out free at UKCAC 1987
4, 5, 6 & 7 were sold nationally in comic shops
