The Euro 96 comic that never was

As Euro 2024 is well underway now I feel it's a great opportunity to re-post this piece on a lost comic from Euro 96...

As today marks the start of Euro "2020" this blog asks the question that no-one else is...do you remember the Euro 96 comic?

Given pride of place on the cover of Comics International #67 (dated April 1996) - and with details inside (see below) of this pan-European project...

The answer is that you shouldn't be able to remember it because it was never printed.

I wonder if anyone out there knows what happened to this? Was it published elsewhere in Europe? Get in touch if you know.

Alan Moore's (not the) World Cup comic

For anyone who's for Euro2020 withdrawal symptoms today there's only one comic worth thinking about...a comic about not the world cup...I thought we'd have a look at a Barrie Mitchell illustrated, Alan Moore (yes, really) scripted tale of not the (1982) world cup humour comic from Marvel UK.

Cover by John Higgins

Whatever happened to the Euro 96 comic?

As today would have been the start of Euro 2020 this blog asked the question that no-one else is...whatever happened to the Euro 96 comic?

Given pride of place on the cover of Comics International #67 (dated April 1996) - and with details inside (see below) of this pan-European project.

I've never see this comic so I'm pretty sure it doesn't exist but I wonder if anyone out there knows what happened to this? was it published elsewhere in Europe? Get in touch if you know.

As it's World cup qualifying weekend I thought we'd have a look at a Barrie Mitchell illustrated, Alan Moore (yes, really) scripted tale of not the (1982) world cup humour comic from Marvel UK.
