GCAC 1992

Following a recent post about the 1991 Glasgow Comic Art Convention brochure (here) Paul Michael Moon Rogers was kind enough to get in touch with to say
Hi Richard. I saw your post about the 1991 Glasgow Convention programme and followed that to your blog. On your blog you also have the 1992 programme. My wife and I travelled from New Zealand to attend that 1992 Convention (as well as UKCAC). I couldn't resist bidding and subsequently winning these two pieces in the Glasgow art auction .... great pieces by Paul Johnson and Angus Mckie. UPDATED: Action Man - Tower Magazines (1995)

In 1995 publishers Tower magazines became a short-lived comics publisher. This is their debut on the blog. This title is not to be confused with a separate (and much longer-running) Action Man comic published by Panini (1996-2006) - see wikipedia entry here.

Dez Skinn's 'Warrior' volume 1

Inspired by a comment on episode 40 (here) of the 'Never iron anything' podcast - which was all about Dez Skinn's Warrior magazine - I thought I'd post up some details of his first Warrior...all are black & white, A4 size, have 1 or 2 pages of the particular story reprinted and are hard work to collect!

Van Helsing's Terror tales arrives in paperback

A quick shout out for the new publication from Dez Skinn (just search for him on facebook) it's a glossy softcover edition of his previously published (albeit in a limited edition hardback - 100 copies only) reprints from House of Hammer magazine, Van Helsing's Terror tales.


You can expect contributions from Martin Asbury, Donne Avenell, Jim Baikie, John Bolton, Joe Colquhoun, Dave Gibbons, Trev Goring, Brian Lewis, Chris Lowder, Angus McKie, Steve Moore, Steve Parkhouse, Ramon Sola and Patrick Wright.
