Jane figures

I've looked before at the work of Normat Pett (here) and his creation Jane (here) and fellow Jane fan and friend of the blog Derek Wilson recently shared this photo with me.

As you can, hopefully, see it's a set of lead figures of Jane! Very rare I'm sure. I'd certainly never seen these before and I'm grateful to Derek for allowing me to share this image.

Jane's calendar 1947, the 2nd one

I've looked before at the work of Normat Pett (here) and his creation Jane (here) and recently spotted this rare piece of Jane merchandise for sale. I've swiped the images for posterity and note that this 1947 calendar has different images on it to this calendar that I blogged about in 2022

Rare jigsaw featuring Jane of the Daily Mirror

I'm always happy to update a blog posting, so here's an update to a February 2019 posting (here) about a rare piece of Jane merchandise. A jigsaw entitled 'A fancy dress "affair"'. This was up for sale on ebay a few months ago...

...it turns out that there was a 'sister' jigsaw to this one, we'll see that tomorrow

Angela Darling by Gordon Grinstead

I've looked before at the work of Norman Pett (for all examples on the blog just click here) and his creation Jane (click here) and recently spotted this rare book up for sale. I've swiped the images for posterity.

The seller (https://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/kimota444 - who often has interesting things for sale) said...

125 pages with risque artwork throughout.

Published by the same company that printed the 'Jane's Journal' books.

This is the rarest Pett book ever; trying to find another is near impossible.

Released 1st January 1949, there was the promise of another volume later in 1949 advertised on the back cover but this was never published.

Story by Gordon Grinstead, a pseudonym for JHG (Don) Freeman (1903 - 1972).

Postcards by Norman 'Jane' Pett

I've looked before at the work or cartoonist Norman Pett (here) and I'm always interested in unusual piece of work by him (of Jane) so here are some postcards by the great man...something a bit different.

Another Journal (1950)

I've covered Jane material by Norman Pett on the blog before (here) and now, thanks to a seller on ebay, I can look a little deeper into a number of Jane books that Pett produced.

All dates are based on this blog post by Steve Holland

Here's the next book them - come back soon for more!
