Battle heroes - sketches by Patrick Goddard

If you've been following artist Patrick Goddard's (@PaddyGod1) recent sketches for October you'll know that while he didn't quite manage one a day he did draw a very respectable 22 characters from British and American comics.

The first batch of these is now up for sale on his ebay store - and I've picked out (below) a few of the heroes of Battle that he drew - namely Major Eazy, Johnny 'Red' Redburn and Charley Bourne

His seller name is ngod2 and here's a link to the Johnny Red sketch here

The sketches are A5 size and come with the preliminary pencil sketch too - good luck if you bid

Battle 'fan' art by professional comic artists

I thought I'd just highlight some Battle 'fan' art by 2 comic creators who, as well as being professional comic creators, are clearly also fans of Battle.

First up is Graeme Neil Reid (his website is here) and he's worked for 2000AD, Commando and plenty more besides. Here's a US sized (28 pages) comic that he put together for a convention in 2010...

...and you'll see that he's included some classic Battle characters in it...

..and then there's this (from 1996)...

...and Garen 'The Rainbow orchid' Ewing contributes a drawing of Charley Bourne in the mud of the Somme

Rare British comic original art up for sale this weekend

Spotted on ebay here's a couple of lovely items on offer from seller d.g100 [not me!]

The first is here and is a Carlos Ezquerra commission re-creating the cover of Battle from October 1976 - bid from £550 or make an offer...bidding closes at Sunday lunchtime.

Here's a few images...

The seller also has (here) a Charley's War cover from 1980 by Joe Colquhoun - same price as above and, again, bidding ends on Sunday lunchtime.
