Happy Birthday, Friend!

I made this card for a dear, sweet friend's birthday (a late mailing...) and I see that it can qualify for a few challenges!  Bonus :)
I was quite anxious to use this new to me stamp from Concord & 9th and I have so many colour combos swirling in my head.  I first white heat embossed onto bristol card.  The detail on this stamp is amazing and I used a WOW superfine white EP.  It worked like a charm!
I used my Zigs to water colour the tiny images.  The Happy is a Memory Box die that I cut from the same bristol and again applied the colour with Zigs in a gradient fashion.  The birthday is from Winnie & Walter and the Friend is a PTI stamp.  The main panel was cut with an Avery Elle Elements die.
Happy to finally send this card out and it is also on it's way over to the following challenges.  Oh, Happy 4th of July !

Sending you...MCV

It's my turn for Muse: Christmas Visions !

I am going with some non traditional colours this time!  Greys and blues and a pop of Embossed red.
This week's card was inspired by a Christmas card that we received last year from a financial advisor and I wanted to recreate the penguins and the general organic and peaceful feel.  It was an all grey/black/white card that looked like a copy of a waddle of hand painted penguins.  Yes, a waddle, not a raft.  I have decided that they are standing on land and are not in water!
I wish that I could say that I free hand painted them, but not so!  haha!  I did some reverse engineering and cut the card up into two parts and using the parts as a template, painted fine lines around with the lightest grey Zig w/c brush onto Arches card and went from there.  The background was created with sponged distress inks and some colour was picked up with the water droplet method and a cloth, allowing some white of the card to show through.
This is not the first iteration, but the third...you see, I am not that talented when art presents in the form of drawing...or painting for that matter!
Anyway...I am pleased with the outcome and like the addition of my blues and the red sentiment.
I would love to make a bunch of these cards, but with a layering stamp!  Any stamp companies out there thinking of layered penguins?

I would love to see you in the gallery with a penguin or other critter or neutrals or whatever might inspire you this week!

Thanks for peeking in!

A masculine Thank You card

Hello and thanks for stopping in!
I have a card today featuring water colour and the Winnie and Walter (Kindness with Evelin T. ) and one of the cutaways In a Word:Thanks die products.  This stamp set has so many possibilities and I love the two sizes of the trees!
I first stamped in black Memento ink onto Arches cold pressed w/c card and used a combination of Zigs and Gansai Tambi w/c paints.  I left the background free of any wash of colour or splatters, going for a CAS feel and cut the sentiment out of glossy black card and then layered onto a black fun foam Thanks and adhered to the front.  I cut the panel down to 3 3/4" across and 5 1/2" and then layered onto a little larger black panel and then onto a PTI Tropical Teal card front. This card is headed over to the (new to me) CASMixUp challenge for June, the
Stamplorations CAS with optional colour blue and
Addicted to Stamps and More where they are open to "Anything Goes" challenge.

Kindness-Case this Sketch

 Happy Monday!
It has been too long since my last post and I have so missed the card challenges!  I have a card that I made for a couple of challenges today with a NBUS stamp set from Winnie & Walter
"Kindness w/Evelin T Designs" with such beautiful varied sizes of trees and great sentiments!  Because this is NBUS...I am also offering up for the famous Darnell's NBUS challenge #6 going on right now!
I had a need for quite a few kindness cards and will be making lots of these to mail to the seniors/alzheimers residence where my sweet MIL lives and to personal childhood friends that visit my MIL.  You can imagine how very grateful my husband and I are...
Using a mask on the larger tree, I stamped a couple of the smaller sized on either side and coloured very simply with Copic markers. I used the CAS(e) this Sketch as a guide, but flipped the panel and made it a CAS one layer.  The sentiment is made from the same W&W set and stamped in Memento Tuxedo black a couple of times using the MISTI tool.

Thanks for stopping by!

A Time Out Birthday

Good morning everyone!
I took a break (my Time Out) from Valentine card making and shifted to making some birthday cards this morning for the current

Time Out
I did some spongeing with the hearts (SU Bermuda Bay sponged through an acetate stencil that I made with a SSS die) on my rectangular panel and "winked" them for some sparkle IRL.  I used patterned papers for my background and did some die cutting to look like streamers with one of the W&W Goldie Trim dies.  My birdie is MB, cut once from the polka dotted paper and layered onto another cut from coaster board.  The heart stamp is from PTI Heart Prints and white embossed.  The sentiment is also W&W from the Big, the Bold and the Happy stamp set.

and Seize the Birthday  Anything Goes challenge.  Below is a close up of the WOS, but it barely shows on the photo.
Anyway...another birthday card later to post.
Thanks for stopping by!

Celebrating WCMD with Winnie & Walter

Masterboard...what a joy to create and a marvelous way to make multiples!
Shay (co owner of Winnie & Walter) showed us some beautiful transformations from her Masterboard.  I love the circular element that she added and used something similar for a couple of my examples.  I had so much fun making this Masterboard and so many ideas for more ...
I also am so happy that Winnie and Walter are hosting this wonderful WCMD event!  They have also kindly said that there is no requirement to use W&W only product...I thought this was so generous that I placed an order for some of their fabulous items on Saturday and it's on the way to me!  I hope to make more cards before the week's end with some of my W&W goodies!

While I was at it, I made two Masterboard sheets.  I used a detailed stamp from a company called Alextamps (sadly, no longer in business) and stamped multiple times using Distress inks Shabby Shutters and Fossilized Amber, SU Sahara Sand and Cajun Craze onto a linen textured ivory base.  I really like these colours together.  Here are some of the individual card photos.

I hope you are having a great Autumn day!
