PTI Gilded in Gold

Gilded in Gold challenge with Danielle Flanders

Here is my card for the Gilded in Gold challenge that Danielle has going on for the Papertrey Ink 2016 Stamp-A Faire.
I was inpired from one of the masters, Manet's Lillacs in Glass, but changed the colours and mine is in the PTI pint jar.  I used stamps from Frienship Jar Flowers and Art with Heart sets.  Inked up in various colours (Blueberry Sky, Simply Chartreuse, Ripe Avocado, Buttercup and Hibiscus Burst) sprayed the stamps with water and stamped onto Arches W/C paper.  The scripty and classy Thanks is also PTI and I cut from a gold pearlized sheet and layered another die cut from W/C paper.  The vellum pint jar is also swiped with some platinum ink for a little more interest.  I loved making this little bouquet!

Muse Christmas Visions

Welcome all Christmas card makers!
It's time to get creative with Muse Christmas Visions again this week and my card is a simple one! Copic colouring, masking, some liquid pearls for the center, a background stamp, embossed sentiment and some black paint flecks...because in my haste to add a sentiment, I did not use my embossing buddy to prepare the card front, so I had a few stray speck of black embossing powder that I was not happy with :(

My solution was to mix up the black from my Kuretake Gansai Tambi paints and flick some more black onto the card front!

I am not a seasoned Copic colouring user at all!  But, I wanted to give it a try.
If you want to give this a go on any Christmas image and link up to the MCV linkup, I would love to see what you come up with!

As this is a one layer card, I will be sending over to the

One-Layer Simplicity challenge for July

I am looking forward to seeing your creations in the gallery!

Happy Birthday, Friend!

I made this card for a dear, sweet friend's birthday (a late mailing...) and I see that it can qualify for a few challenges!  Bonus :)
I was quite anxious to use this new to me stamp from Concord & 9th and I have so many colour combos swirling in my head.  I first white heat embossed onto bristol card.  The detail on this stamp is amazing and I used a WOW superfine white EP.  It worked like a charm!
I used my Zigs to water colour the tiny images.  The Happy is a Memory Box die that I cut from the same bristol and again applied the colour with Zigs in a gradient fashion.  The birthday is from Winnie & Walter and the Friend is a PTI stamp.  The main panel was cut with an Avery Elle Elements die.
Happy to finally send this card out and it is also on it's way over to the following challenges.  Oh, Happy 4th of July !

Playing cards with Anita

I am sure that you are familiar with a sweet gal in France, Anita, and her genuinely lovely comments!
Well, today is her birthday!
My friend Michele of I Card Everyone and I are playing cards together and CASE-ing Anita over at the Stamplorations blog!  Anita is the Guest Designer for the month :)
Here are Anita's beauties...

And here is my card that I created to celebrate Anita and her special day!
As you can see, Anita's cards are always perfect and CAS!

I went in a different direction with mine.
I focused on her hearts inside the circular shapes and her colours.  I used a lonely and old but NBUS Stampin' Up stamp from an unknown set.  She was begging to get inked up for this event!
I first stamped in SU Smoky Slate and made masks for the 5 heart encased florals.  When masked, I sponged distress inks over the panel, blending as best as I could.
The inked sentiments are from PTI Big Hugs as well as the Hugs die cut.
The sunshine die cut is from SSS.

I am wishing Anita a most beautiful day filled with everything wonderful!
Bonne Fete ma Belle!

PS (Petals & Scribbles)

Happy Friday!
It is a gorgeous day here today with unusually high temps in the 80's and that gets me thinking of Spring clothing.  It just so happens that the latest Nordstrom catalogue arrived earlier in the week and I spied this darling little dress that I thought would be a perfect inspiration for my PTI challenge where we are asked to create a card from a piece of clothing in our closet or an online retailer!
Here is my finished card with a pic below of the inspiration piece.

 I used the Circle Scribbles,
two leaves from Beautiful Blooms II and one of the Keep it Simple sentiments from the Happy Birthday set. This was a blast to make and it really did not take me more than 30 minutes!
I used Winsor & Newton professional Quinacridone Magenta to paint over the Scribbles.
EASY PEASY!
I love how it turned out :)

Happy Week-end!

I am also adding this to the 30 Day Coloring challenge

CASE-ing Amy

I am always amazed at the quality and variety of cards that the PTI team creates, month after month and this 9th birthday celebration is at full strength!  There are challenges going on and here is an offering from me.  We are to create a card inspired by one of the Design Team members and when I saw this card from Amy yesterday, I knew I wanted to create a few cards in this style!  So I am playing along with the Create along with us monthly challenge!

 Here is Amy's

Here is mine

I first die cut these pretty frames from the Keep it Simple series and arranged over a panel of the PTI striped vellum that was layered over a pink card front.  I then die cut a bouquet from the Bitty Bouquets set using the tulips and stamped in pink, Hawaiian Shores and a craft green for the leaves.  I white heat embossed a sentiment from the Baby Button Bits set onto black and hand cut the banner.  Onto a strip of the same vellum, I black heat embossed the "little cutie pie" from the same set and wrapped behind the layered panel.  A narrow slip of the pink Bitty Dots PP finishes the card...
I made this this afternoon after receiving some wonderful news from a friend that her new granddaughter had been born!  Oh Joy!
I also have another friend that was blessed with twin grandchildren yesterday, so I must say...truly a busy and joyous day!

Ombre Valentine

Happy Wednesday!
I am playing along with the SSS Wednesday challenge today, Ombre, and the PTI Create Along with Us challenge.  I was greatly inspired by Amy Sheffer's use of graduated colour, pattern and layout!
My card was made by first using distress inks and an inexpensive water sparkly colour set from Michael's that I used for the front panel.  I then used an Avery Elle dotted die to emboss with and create a little frame.  I cut the patterned papers from my stash with a PTI heart die from the Heart Prints set and adhered in a somewhat ombre fashion.  Some of these are layered onto coaster board, some onto fun foam and some are just adhered directly onto the panel.  You can see some of the dimension in the pic below.  I then stamped the PTI Valentine sentiment from the Keep it Simple set in black.  Some paint speckles finish it off.

I quadruple dipped !

When I saw Michele's Muse card, I knew that I wanted to make a few for the neighbours on our cul-de-sac that have young children.  As I don't have any kind of an elf image, I resorted to my only Santa stamp (my first purchase from PTI) and combined the inspiration from Michele's card and this week's CAS(E) this Sketch from Chrissy Larson.  My sentiments are from PTI and Happy Little Stampers (Merry Christmas).  I love how the three different fonts play together!
I stamped my Santa onto patterned paper and cut out his face!  The same Santa image was stamped twice, once onto a dry embossed swirly EF and another onto cream CS.  On the cream card, I dotted his eyes with a Sakura sparkling black pen and used a very pale peach Copic marker (one of the 00) for his cheeks.  This was layered under the red patterned "open face" Santa image.  The beard and mustache were cut from the curly dry embossed card and I added Ranger white enamel to coat all whiskers.  The same enamel was used on his cuffs, hat surround and pom pom end.  I was going to add a gift package from the same set to his giving "hands", but went with a folk art shaped wood heart and coated with clear wink of Stella.  The bottom corners were rounded and that was that!  I just have to package up another batch of peanut brittle and lemon shortbread cookies to deliver to the families.

Also sending over to SSS Monday challenge where they are asking for
Just a Pinch...my use of the white enamel.

And, playing for the very first time at
Happy Little Stampers
Mixed Media Challenge
my enamel, ink and WOS

So far, I am feeling good about the house being decorated inside and out and feel like I am almost on schedule...what am I forgetting?  There must be something!
I hope that you are having a great week and that all is calm in your little corner of the world.
Thanks for stopping by...

Lovely Colours

Another Friday!

I have been running around like a crazy woman prepping for a community garage sale.  Oh yes, time to clear out some stuff :)
I saw the new Colour Throw Down #310 and thought, now that's a pretty amazing trio of colours.  I would have never thought to put these together.
I started with a Heidi Swapp chevron stencil and sponged my 3 colours, a light and a dark version on the rows.  I then stamped this leafy branch from SU and added some petite stamps images from PTI (various sets that I have the teensy images set aside, apart from the mother stamp set).  This did not turn out like I thought it might, but I still love the colours together!
Happy Friday all!

Best Birthday Ever

Happy Sunday!
I made a card for the Pretty Pink Posh
Cutting Edge Blog Hop going on right now.  There are some amazing participant entries from the DT and people like you and me.
I went out of my comfort zone on this one for the colour theme...in honour of PPP.   After all, they are the hosts!
I used PTI Hibiscus burst for the card front, a PTI photo frame and sentiments and a camera stamp from the local ss.  I coloured with a cerise and warm gray Copic markers and added metallic silver ZIG pen to the camera parts.  I cut apart a stamp to create the corner sentiment.  I could not resist adding some PPP sequins in the marshmallow colour (2 sizes) and I also had a few shocking pink sequins in my stash.  I really had fun creating and I love how the sequins remind me of confetti!
This is such a fun hop and there is one more day that we can enter...so hurry!
There are some amazing prizes up for grabs!
Thanks for taking a peek!
I am also offering this card for the Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge, Anything goes!

Jewel Rainbow Ice Cream Cones

I am linking this card for the Rainbow challenge over at CAS-ology this week and the SSS Monday challenge J is for..jeweled colours, in my case.  ETA I am also linking this to the Fusion Beach House themed challenge going on right now...Thanks Darnell!  Ice cream at the beach house sounds good!  Oh wait...I don't have a beach house.
Let me explain...
I have a confession.  I have never made a rainbow anything.  I would have to say that not all of the primary colours are at the top of my list.
Forgive me Ardyth!  I do love the variations of the rainbow colours and I decided to just get over it and use jewel-like versions to create and participate in the challenges.  I had the idea to use a small summery image and found this Basic Grey ice cream cone that had never been used.  The whole set is a NBUS and now an element from the set has seen some action!
I started by masking of two sections of my card front with Washi Tape and stamped the sugar cone part with PTI Vintage Linen.  The Washi Tape sectioning produces a nice straight stamping.  I then moved the Washi Tape strips up over the sugar cones and stamped the ice cream parts in SU Vanilla craft ink.  After that was dry, I took out my Sakura sparkle pens and added the (jeweled) ROYGBIV colours onto the rolled sprinkles part.  I also touched up the ice cream scoops with some white craft ink.  My sentiment is from a SU set and the card front is SU Barely Banana.
So, that's it then, a CAS summery birthday card!  Happy Birthday Jen!
Thanks for taking a peek,

The questionable style...

Happy Wednesday!
I made a car for the Card Concept challenge # 15, a colour on, that is going on right now.  I really don't know what style to classify this as...
Well, at least I followed the colours, with the addition of B & W!
This is a favourite colour combo of mine and has been for a very many years...ask my W.I.N.O.S. women in need of stamps friends (we are meeting tonight) and they will tell you!
So, for the card, I sponged the two colours thru a circle window card and nade some other smaller dots by punching the smaller holes.  I also used some PTI teensy weensy stamps from Love Lives Here Holiday.  Those are the heart trios and circle trios.  After covering the card front with the amount of colour that I liked, I laid a piece of polka dotted washi to ground the sentiment (and to help me keep things straight) and then die cut the PTI birthday die and inlaid.  I then die cut the Memory Box Happy twice and layered over top.  Oh, and I placed a black button holed brad over the i in birthday before I placed the card front onto the base!
Thanks for stopping in today...hope yours is lovely!

Merry Monday on Wednesday & CCCB Christmas!

Good morning!
I made a card yesterday for the Merry Monday challenge #118 blog (another Christmas card in the stash-yay!) and will also be submitting to the City Crafter Challenge Blog where Christmas in July is the theme.
I have a little stash of buttons, so selecting the button for my flower center was the most difficult decision  in creating this card!
I have been organizing and tidying in the craft room, just 15 minutes a day, and came across a little pile of these Just Rite quilted circles that I had paper pieced.  With my Memory Box stem, Straight Stalks, I decided to layer the small version onto the larger version for my flower stem and have the quilted circle as my flower.  I added this ruby looking glass button with a teeny strand of silk ribbon threaded thru the center.  Easy Peasy.  This simple Christmas card style is not my usual fashion.  I usually have layers and layers, but I do like how this came out.  A sentiment from PTI is a good pairing for this homespun crafty card and I adhered with a little black stitching and left the front bits a little long for another little detail.
Thanks for taking a peek!

Have a great day!

CAS(e) this Sketch 84

Having some fun today with the latest CAS(e) this Sketch! #84
I wanted some drama for this birthday card for a friend's Fall birthday, so More Mustard and Sage, with a sprinkle of Calypso Coral, all against black! I was inspired by this beautiful card from Coleen Dietrich over on the current Card Concept colour blog.
Love these together!
I used a tiny mosaic EF for the black card front, PTI flowers stamps from Happiness in Bloom and Embroidered Blooms and the matching die.  The sentiment is stamped in true black from the Embroidered Blooms set.  My photo looks a little more orangey than IRL, but the mustard and sage are a favourite combo for me.
Thanks for taking a peek and I hope that you are having a great day!
