Anni-VERVE-sary sketch challenges

This first one uses the Verve sentiment from Harvest Blessings and paper from MemoryBox "Blackbird".  The card stock is PTI Terra Cotta and the shaped edges were made with a Labels Spellbinder that I stamped with the Verve wheat.
The border is the branches from MS and I layered it with a trim that I bought at HL.  The ink that I used is SU basic brown.

This second one was quite hard to photograph...
The textured card stock is a Bazzil that matches perfectly with the Basic Grey Indian Summer.  I stamped the beautiful Harvest Blessings in SU basic brown and used some Martha punches for the oak and fern punched shapes.  The flower is from a trim that I also got at HL.
This really is a nice card in person, not so much on this screen...

This next card was made for a friend's birthday.  She is a blue lover but I also threw in some rich yellow to go with the pretty geometric DCWV mat stack.  I stamped Julee's flower from Wishful Elegance three times on different papers and cut out.  I also punched out a small circle of the geometric and cut out a small flower from another sheet.
The Birthday Wishes sentiment is also from the Wishful Elegance set and I layered it onto two mega scalloped Nestability ovals.  The border punch is the MS hydrangeas.  I did a little stitching on the blue panel and added a delicate triangular white lace.
The square that the flower sits on was distressed with a T!m Holtz tool.

Here is a CAS with texture card for this sketch.  It is a simple thank you and the sentiment is a thank you from a Verve order.  Julee alway's includes a little something...sweet!
The sentiment is layered onto a Sissix die from the SU lots of labels set.  The half flowers are some crape myrtle bark from my backyard that I used a PTI flower die on.  I am really amazed at the natural aqua colour on this bark!  The patterned papers are from DCWV "Home" and the cs is PTI Aqua Mist.

This last card uses some more DCWV Home paper, SU River Rock and PTI Ocean that I put through a Damsk ef.  I layered two buttons at the top left corner of the solid panel and put a tiny silk ribbon through.  The flourishes are also Verve from the "One Person" set as is the sentiment and frame.
Thanks for taking a peek,
Have a great weekend and have fun tonight with the Verve release!

A DTGD trio

Good morning, it's Friday :)
Another DTGD card for three of the challenges,DTGD10joanervin, DTGD10AmberDawn and DTGD10leighobrien
I am using another Lockhart stamp, this pretty peony bouquet.  I stamped the image in Memento London Fog and coloured/shaded with Copic markers.  The ivory panel that the image is layered onto is textured
with a PaperTrey Ink plate and then edged with soft orange.  I added some shabby seam binding that went with the image colours and the background paper.  The fancy oval brad is from MM and has an ornate texture to it.  The dp is from a Matstack called Once upon a time from DCWV...pretty selections in this collection.
I have tried a few times and different angles to get a better pic, but have not been successful...
I hope to be back later with another card,
Thanks for taking a peek!

a DTGD plethera

Hi there!  Hope you are all well and enjoying the sights from CHA..oh I wish I was there ;)
I have a card that I made and can mark off a few more DTGD challenges.  The card is for
DTGD10tayloredexpressions, DTGD10melmel, DTGD10debdeb, DTGD10cindy_haffner DTGD10flowergal36 and a Flourish challenge, FTTC77 to use a pin.  In my case I have used a teeny clothes pin with a ladybug attached to it.  I have been hoarding these for 3 years now...so time to let a few of them fly ;)
I used this great sketch as the foundation to my card and then wanted a black/cream/red theme, so I stamped this little Lockhart geranium stamp and coloured with Copic markers.  The black and cream paper is another hoarded sheet of BG LilyKate.  The red patterned pieces are from DCWV Summer Dream Matstack.  The tag is a MS punch and the sentiment is from the PaperTrey Ink set Tea for Two Additions.
Thanks so, so much for looking!

I keep making wedding cards!

Good morning! It is a beautiful sunny and warm morning here and I can't wait to get out in the garden. The weeds are calling ;)

For the first one I used Card Patterns Sketch #60 again and this beautiful Pink Paislee patterned paper "Queen Bee" 6 X 6 paper pad. Love these colours and patterns and this was a really easy card to make using Spellbinder dies and an EK Success border punch. I added a sentiment that I stamped from the SU Fancy Flexible Phrases set and added a length of very vanilla taffeta ribbon over the scalloped borders. I also added 3 yellow paper "straw flowers".

For this second one, I used the same sketch and a variety of papers. K and CO (for the black bottom panel), MM for the circular and square and the green is Pink Paislee "Bayberry Cottage" The stamped mousie couple is another stamp from Stampavie entitled "Mice Kissing". I stamped the image twice, one on a vintage white cs from PTI and cut out just the tulip and mice part and again on a MM patterned black and white from the older Sabrina pack and I cut out the tulips to paper piece them. The mice were coloured with Copic markers and I popped them up on the "framed" center. The sentiment is from the same Fancy Flexible Phrases set and I used Spellbinder dies to cut these. I added a Sabrina ribbon around the front of the bottom panel and also used a couple of MS punches to create the greenery.

The last card uses the DCWV line of Cafe Mediterranean 8 X 8 paper (the glossy teal) and the whole mice couple is stamped, coloured and popped up on another piece of DCWV paper. I colored the image with Copics and also paper pieced these tulips with a scrap piece from the Sabrina line (I think)
The sentiment is the same and I added 3 tiny pearls to it and sponged the edges of the smallest mega scalloped Nestability die. I made the scalloped borders with an EK succes punch and the SU border punch was used for the black. All of these were layered and then a wide piece of white lace on top and finally the framed image.
Hope you have a wonderful day and thanks for taking a peek today!

My Mojo Dahlias and CPS161

Hi there everyone! Bet you thought that I had dropped off the face of the planet! Well, it's not that I have been lazy, just spending a great week with a very, very dear friend from Toronto last week and then I had to return to work yesterday, but here are a couple of cards that I created yesterday morning.
This first one is for Julee's Mojo Mondays sketch #133 designed by Janette Olen.
I will be using this one over and over I think, maybe even as was drawn and not flipped! I stamped the newly acquired Delightful Dahlias from Papertrey Ink (both sizes) and coloured/shaded with my Co
pics. I added some copper Lumiere to the center and also used my Spica copper pen to add some dots. I love experimenting with floral shading and I think I may need to add some Copic colours to my collection ;) Oh dear...

I also stamped and coloured the two sizes of leaves with the set and wanted to use both of these as well. I like how they look layered on the edge of the flower.
I used the Spellbinder classic ovals for the floral frame and a petite oval for the sentiment. I stamped the sentiment right onto the patterned paper and both of these that I used with this card are from the Cafe Mediterranean stack from DCWV...gorgeous colours! The kraft card front is embossed with a new PTI metal impression plate
Giga Guide Lines, a little hard to see in the photo, but pretty IRL.
The next card I made is for the Card Positioning Systems sketch #161. I used Basic Grey Kioshi papers and PTI sets Beautiful Blooms II and Giga Guide Lines for the sentiment.PTI blush card stock with a Swiss Dots EF, stamped the flowers using SU blush and coral and edged the points of the flowers and made dots around the PTI button centers with another Spica Peach pen also from the set B Spica pens. Looking at the button centers now...well, they need some twine or floss coming out of the button holes because I think they look a little naked!

Thanks for coming back to check out what I have been up to!
cheers!

Just sittin'

The year's end is fast approaching...time to renew

Moxie Fab World's Tuesday Trigger has a calming effect on me. Take a look at this room from Coastal Living. Serene. Love the colours.

The colour combo was most inspirational to me.

I decided to use this chair image from Impression Obsession and coloured it in a light warm gray with my Copic markers. I think the gray gives the chair that worn, has a history look to it. Maybe many stories were read/told from that chair...
The cushions on the chair took their colour combo from this pattern paper from DCWV "Berry Street" from the Farmer's Market pack. I love the textures and quality of this company.

Here is a close up of the chair. I cut out all of the spaces on the chair back with an Exacto knife. I have to tell you that this took more than the 5 minutes in my head that I thought it would! I do like the outcome however :) I also decided that the seat cushion should be puffy, so I stamped out another and coloured, backed it with dimensional foam and voila', a puffy seat cushion.
The punches I used are MS and the sentiment is also Impression Obsession.

Thanks for peeking in again,
cheers, chriss

WSC96 Tango & Blues happy flower

Good morning everyone!  I was able to make a card from the weekend sketch challenge yesterday and it's still the weekend!  The sketch is one that I adore, so easy to work with.  Thanks Beate!  I did not stamp much at all for this sketch, but I was really pleased with this new sheet of paper that I bought last week from the DCWV green line called Woodland Blue Flower.  Love the colours in it and the weight and texture of this paper/card stock is luscious.  I followed the sketch with the different panels using blue bayou dp polka dots and the last in color blue card stock baja blue. (SU retired blue bayou is the PERFECT match)  I used a CB embossing folder (exotic floral) on the square piece and sponged the edges with blue bayou.  The orange square under all of the panels is tango tangerine, another perfect match for the colour in this dp.  The sentiment is from PaperTrey Ink from the Autumn Abundance set.  The little stickered half pearls are from MakingMemories, the Halloween pack that is currently available at Michael's.  The flower is a Prima that I placed over a blossom die cut that I made using the Spellbinder dies and the brad is also from MM.  Thanks for visiting and Thank you Beate for this delightful sketch!
