Love Story with a glittery touch!

Happy New Year!

My first card of the year, made this morning from this great sketch for Viva La Verve.
I have had these Heidi Grace patterned papers for about a year now and have been wanting to use them.  I love the colour combo and the combination of the pretty fonts. When I saw the Viva La Verve sketch, I knew that I wanted to finally cut into these papers!
Quite straight forward, stitched around the different patterned paper panels, the frame and sentiment from Verve called, appropriately, Love Story.  I stamped the frame on PTI kraft and cut out, coloured with a Copic marker and added a touch of glitter on the beautiful frame "corners".  The sentiment was stamped on PTI ivory and I used a petite oval Nestie.  The border punch that I used on the front of the kraft card front is a MS.  The inside of the card has a long strip of the far right patterned paper along the bottom edge.  The pretty jewelled piece over the sentiment is a hair barrette that I bought a few weeks ago.  There were an assortment of 12 to a package from a store that I had never been to before, Sam Moon.  An expensive embellishment, but I couldn't resist at the time.  At least I put it to use :)
My goal this year is to participate in challenges, to use a lot of what I have in my stash and to actually get the cards out in the mail for birthdays and holidays.  I am sure that many of us have similar intentions, but I would love to hear what your "crafting resolutions" are this year!
I made this card for the Moxie Fab glitter challenge that is going on until Monday and the Viva La Verve sketch challenge!
Now it's off to continue the tidying and cleaning in the house!   Cheers~ Chriss

MoxieFabColor challenge

I am feeling a little "punchy" from the latest MoxieFab Color challenge. We are to make a card using only these four colours. I assembled the 4 that I had for the closest match, and I thought. This purpley colour is not one of my faves, but it's really not that bad with the berry/pomegranate colour...is it?
Time for me to come up with a design, any design. Sometimes I think I work much better with a sketch. Sketches are comfortable. Sketches have certain boundaries, but with some interpretation room. Well, this is what I came up with.

I used my Martha punches and just started playing with shapes. When I was a little girl, I had these painted wooden shapes of diamonds, triangles, squares and circles. The game was kinda like a puzzle where you could just create different images using the shapes. I played with it often and have fond memories of it, but they would be fonder if the shapes had been painted in a larger variety of colours. They were only yellow, green, red and blue.
Well, playing with the various shapes I had punched out last night did get some creativity going and I was able to assemble this layered flower from heart shapes and a flower CuttleBug die. Most of the paper is Bazzil, but I substituted what I had on hand for the closest match. I also finished the inside, an really good leftover influence from the last MFC I participated in!

Keep scrolling to see the inside of the card.

Thanks for peeking in today!
