Pencil Holder and a Card

Here are the last two project that we are making at stamp camp on Saturday.

This is a Pencil holder that matches the paper weight. I ordered the pencil holders from Oriental Trading. Easy Peasy to do. Just wrapped the designer paper around the holder, put Kiwi ribbon areound the middle with a ribbon slider on it, embossed the flower on Kiwi paper, stamped the saying and attached it - all done.

This is a slider card. Another pretty easy card to make.

Hope you have enjoyed seeing the projects that we are making at my stamp camp.

Have a wonderful weekend!!

A Card and a Paper Weight

Here are 2 more thing that we are making at the stamp camp on Saturday. I still have a pencil holder and another card to design. I think I may do the pencil holder to coordinate with the paper weight. We'll see what I come up with tonight.

This card is a shutter card. I saw one of these the Jackie at Stamp Express made and really liked the layout of it. So, I borrowed hers as a pattern and designed this one. I'm really pleased with how it turned out.
This is a view of it closed, laying flat on the counter.

Then when you open it, here is how it looks. I just think this is sooo cool!!!

I used the Parisian Breeze textured Designer paper, chocolate chip and baja breeze card CS, chocolate chip and baja breeze ink, Friends 24-7 stamp set, and kraft taffata ribbon.

Next is the paper weight. I ordered these from Oriental Trading. They are really cool weights. The back is a vinyl that covers the whole bottom of the weight and it has a square piece of form on it that fits up into the weight to seal it. The inside of the weight is hollowed out which allows you to put stuff other than cardstock inside.

This uses Fifth Avenue Floral stamp set, the DS paper the matches it (I can't remember the name - LOL!!!), Kiwi and Baja CS, Kiwi ribbon, and some a hardware slide. The words are Rub-ons put on the top of the weight after it was all put together.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day. It's going to be a HOT on here is Central PA. They already issued a warning for Air Quality.

Lots to Share today!!!

I have a few things to share with you today. I was a busy bee down in my stamproom last evening.
I am preparing for a stamp camp that I am having on Saturday and wanted to share 2 of the 5 projects that we will be doing. I will share the other 3 after I get them done (yep, I always wait until the last minute and then am running around like a chicken with my head cut off!!! LOL!!!).

The first one is one of Lauren Meaders templates. If you haven't tried any of these yet, RUN to PTI to get them!!! They are wonderful. I have everything pre-printed out on the cardstock for everyone and will step through the instructions on how to make it. I definitely will NOT give out the template to anyone - if they want it, they can buy it!!!
This is the Card Couture template. It is so easy to follow Laurens instructions on how to make this. I turned mine into a "recipe" box, but you can use it for MANY different things.

I used Certainly Celery for the box, So Saffron for the top/flap, and then used designer paper from Tea Party for the flap and front. I then stamped the big flower from the Playful Petals set, and colored them using ink pads and blender pens. Added the button to the label, which is trimmed using the eyelet punch and stamped using the Short Order Alphabet (yes, it wording is stamped a little lopsided on purpose).

The next project is a "bread" tin. I saw this idea on someone's blog and cannot remember who's it was. If it was yours, please let me know so that I can give you credit for it!!!

I again used the SU Designed Paper Tea Party (I love this DS paper - it is so bright and cheerful!!!!). I attached the DS paper to the tim with decoupage glue. Put pink grosgrain ribbon the whole way around the tin. Then stamped the flower and leaf image from the Playful Petals set, cut it out and attached it to the sentiment which is from the Eastern Bloom set.

Now, I'll give you a tour of my stamproom. It's not normally this messy, since I am a fanatic on keeping things cleaned up and put away, but I was to tired last evening to clean up when I was done. Plus I figured, I'd just be digging alot of it back out tonight, so why bother.

My stamproom is in my basement. Now keep in mind that it is NOT a finished basement, and is in an older house. My DH was sweet a few years ago and sectioned off part of the basement and "finished" it for me. Then last year we had a sewer line break and "flood" my stamproom. So, we pulled up all the carpet put down new carpet in the whole basement and rearranged everything in my stamproom. I like the layout soooo much better now. Plus we finished off a play area for my grandson. Now he can be down there playing while I am creating!!!
This picture is taken from in the stamp room looking out into Kace's play area. It also shows my scrapbook cabinet that my DS built me this in shop at school this year(he still needs to put the drawer and doors on, but for now, this works!!!). The big cabinet stores all my stamps, etc.

This one is the wall that is right behind my chair where I sit. All my most used tools, etc are located on the shelve or hanging on the peg board. As you can see, my copics, prisma pencils, and my ABS system and compressor are all right at my finger tips. I don't even have to get up to get any of them!!! Also on this wall is my shelves with most of my Primas, stickles, and ribbons. The plastic bin is also full of ribbons.

This is taken from the doorway into my room. The whole back wall kitchen cabinets with the drawers/drawers and countertop. The cabinets house all my alterable, etc, inside the cabinets, the drawers have all my cuttlebug folders, etc in them. On the countertop is my Cricut, Cuttlebug, Zutter, Nesties all stored neatly, and plastic shelf/bins that hole all sorts of goodies.

This is the other side of room. There is a big paper storage bin, that houses all my 8 1/2 x 11 paper, shelves that house all my punches, brads, etc.

This is taken from the doorway also. It shows my tables and how I have them layed out. I have an 8 ft table, and then a 4 ft table crossways at then end of it. This allows me to spread out ALOT, and also have friends over to play. I have two good friends that come over almost every Friday night and we go sit down there and craft away. Well, some nights, we just BS talking smilie Pictures, Images and Photos all evening - LOL!!

This last one, is taken from the end by the countertop. It shows the other end, with the TV!!! Gotta have that TV down there also. I even have it hooked up to my FIOS, so I can craft and watch any shows I want at the same time. Sometimes I just have it on for the background noise.

OK, hope you enjoyed the tour of my stamp room. Not the prettiest place, but it is comfy, big, and most importantly - it is my little space just for me!!!

New Layout and a card!!!

I'm finally done revamping the blog!!! Boy, what a process that was. I had such a hard time deciding on a new layout. Then the fiasco of loosing alot of my widgets and links and having to recreate them all. (If I'm missing your blog link, please let me know!!!). I mean come on, I am a computer programmer/analyst and this was not a real user friendly process to do. Plus, after doing this crap all day, I'm really not in the mood to mess with it in the evenings and on the weekends. Geesh - you'd think they'd come up with an easier way. I'll definitely be keeping this one for awhile. LOL!!

OK, onto the card. This is a very simple card. I made this card for my youngest sons Thank You cards for his High School graduation. (Now I just have to beat him up to write them out and mail them, BEFORE he leaves for the Army in August!!!). I'm happy for him but scared for him at the same time about going into the Army. He enlisted on the delayed entry back in September. He is going in as an MP.

The image is a Digi Image from Dustin Pike. If you haven't checked out his Digi's - you are soooo missing out. He has some of the cutest images, and every Wednesday he posts a "Freebie"!!. Ingredients - Dustin Pike Digi Image, SU Night of Navy and Summer Sun Paper, Neenah Colar Crest White Paper, Primas, copics markers, and silver brads (yes, I colored the silver brads with copics to match the colors!!).

On a funny note with this. Seth's GF was in the stamproom with me when I was making this. I said, "boy, I'm glad these are finally done". Her comment to that was, "Yep, you don't have to worry about it again until 2022!!" (That is the year that my grandson - whom I have "full" custody of graduates). AAAACCCKKK - reality check there!! Ya know - I USED to like Seth's GF!!! (J/K - she really is a sweet heart).

Excuse the Mess

I am in the process of revamping my blog.

I'm searching for and trying new blog layouts. Pink is just NOT my color and I am looking for something more suitable for me.

My blog links, and a few other things are missing right now, so please bear with me while I play around with new layouts. If anyone has any suggestions of places to get templates, please let me know.

Cards from the Copics classes

Here are three cards that they made at the Copics class last night. I cannot take credit for these creations. Jackie at Stamp Express designed and created these ones. I just loved them!!! One of these days, I'll remember to take my camera down to the store and take some pictures of more of her creations - she does such wonderful work!!!

This first one was the sample we used to show everyone how to use the blender pen to do "denim", and a little bit more on skin and hair shading. The image is one from Sarah Kay. I just love these little girls!!!

This one is a sample of the one used to show the ABS system. The image is a retired SU image, but it was a great one to show how to use the airbrush to do the sand and sky.

This one was using the blender solution to texturize the dinosaurs. The dinosaurs are from a set available from Our Craft Lounge. I originally ordered this set for my darling grandson since he s soooooo into dinosaurs, but I am loving this set now!!!

Hope everyone is having a wonderful Saturday. It is VERY rainy and yucky here today, so after I am done cleaning, I'm off to my stamproom to play some. Darn - I get to play instead of doing yard work. LOL!!!

Cute Bears!!!

Good Monday Morning!!

I got a chance to go play in my stamp room yesterday and I had a blast coloring and creating with these darling little bears!!! These bears are available atTimNShells Digi Downloads. Make sure to check out the other images available. They are ALL just so darn cute. You'll be seeing more of these digi images soon.

This adorable bear was colored with my Copics. The designer paper is SU So Saffron. I used my Nesties to cut out the bear. The flower and leaves are Primas, and you can't see it real well in this picture, but I put yellow stickles on the brad to give it some sparkle. The sentiment is from an acrylic set I have and can't remember who it is from. But it is actually "Be Happy", so I just stamped the "Be" first, cleaned my stamp real well, then inked up the "e Happy", lined it up to make my own "Bee Happy" sentiment!!!

This patriotic bear was just soooo much fun to color. I actually have him colored many different ways, but this is the first one I created into a card. The designer paper is DCWV from the Summer Stack. I colored the bear with my Copics markers. The pie pan was colored and then I went over it with the clear SPICA pen to give it a "metal" shine. He was then cut out and mounted with dimensions onto the Riding Hood Red paper which was cut out the my nesties.

Make sure you check out Shells Blog to see all the creations from the design team!!!

Upcoming Copics Classes and Airbrush Demo

If you are interested in taking a Copics Class, Stamp Express has a few scheduled during June.

On June 12th, there is another Copics 101 class.

One June 13th, they are having demo day. There will be different demos during the day, and from 11-1 I will be demoing the Copics Airbrush. I will have my compressor set up and demoing different things you can do with it. Anyone that is interested in trying it out, will also be able to use it to airbrush a white flower. I have different templates available for you to use.

Then on June 19th there is an advanced Copics Class. This class will cover various techniques using the "blender" pen. We will also be covering a little about the use of the ABS systems also. Again, I will have my compressor and ABS system along for use during the class.

If you are interested, contact Jackie at Stamp Express. I have a link on the right side of my blog.

A card for a Special group of friends!!

Yes, shocker, but I finally have a card to post!!!!

This is a card that I made for a VERY special group of friends!! When I had my foot surgery back in April, this group of friends, most of whom I've never met, sent me and my family a bunch of Schwanns food. They thought that is would be a huge help to us when I was layed up to not have to worry about cooking. And believe me, it was such a trememdous help!!!

We all "met" on Splitcoast a few years ago. This group "met" and came together through Lauren Meaders daughter Alexa. It was during this time that Alexa was fighting the fight of her life against cancer. When Lauren would refer to her on-line friends, Alexa would say your "Pretend Stamping Friends". This is how the PSFs were formed and named. Thankfully, Alexa is now done with her treatments and is cancer free. But, this group of wonderful ladies still chat and provide tremendous support to each other every day.

Back in April, alot of the PSFs became RSFs when they had a PSF palooza out in Ohio at one of the PSFs homes. I was soooo bummed that I had to cancel going due to my foot surgery. But, I am sure that there will be another one, and I will be at that one!!!

Anyway, here is the card that I made for each of them to thank them for the wonderful gift, support, and prayers that they gave to me and my family during my surgery. Also, during this time, my MIL passed away and they were there for me then also. I honestly sometimes wonder what I ever did before I met this group of ladies. We have laughed together, cried together, prayed together, and are always there when anyone of us needs something, whether is just be a good laugh, or prayers.

I colored these with my Copics markers while I was layed up after my surgery. (I have to say, I did ALOT of coloring while I had to keep my foot elevated.) Then when I could finally navigate the basement stairs to get into my stamproom again, I designed the layout of the card. I masked the image and them used my compressor and ABS to airbrush the "sky". The sentiment is also airbrushed lightly. The start white just didn't work for me, so I just airbrushed a slight bit of color onto it and then used my nesties to cut it out. I also used my new score bug to put the piercing around the brown backing piece and then used my white gel pen to give it a "stitched" look.
