Messy Splatter Manicure

Hi dear readers :)

Today's manicure is a messy one :)
I wanted to do a splatter nail art with the straw method, and I planned to use orange and bright pink over a white base, some nice summer-y colors to call for the sun. When it was done, I wasn't sure to like it so I started to add yellow and blue all over. Finally, I decided to add some black for a contrast, and threw again some of the others colors over the black so it didn't look too dark.

The result was a real mess, but I really loved it ! I think it's a bit special and I'm not sure everyone will like it, so I'm waiting for your advices :)
I still plan to do a softer splatter manicure soon ;)

The white base was done with OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls. The others I splattered are Kiko 279, Kiko 356, OPI Koala Bear-y, China Glaze Shower Together and Essence Fatal.

If you'd like to know how to achieve the straw splatter look, you can check The PolishAholic's tutorial :)

Have a nice day :)

Hello :)

Sprayed Splatter Manicure

Hi dear readers !

Today I'd like to share someething I tested with you ...
You all know the splatter manicure, where you use a straw to blow polish on your nails. The Manicurator shared a post some months ago where she used a plastic spray bottle to achieve a similar look, which was great but I didn't give it a try because it uses a lot of polish (btw, it works wonderfully with acrylic paint as shown here by Emily)

Then Karine from Nailderella did a spray splatter manicure using a sample perfume bottle ! That's great because you just need a few drops of polish to get the look !
Here's what I did:

Ins't it great ?

Here's how I proceeded:
- I painted my nails with two coats of my beloved China Glaze Spontaneous
- I applied some vaseline around my cuticles to make the cleaning process easier (any greasy balm will work)
- I put 5 drops of China Glaze Snow and five drops of thinner in my sample bottle and gave it a good shake (my thinner is Seche Restore)
- And finally I sprayed it all over the nails and cleaned the mess on my fingers :)

The hardest part in the process was to find a sample bottle that I could open easily haha ^^

The final look is different from the classic straw splatter mani, it looks more soft and the blots are smaller. I guess it could look really good with two or more colors !
I suggest that you wait for the splatter to dry completely before using to coat, as this could drag the color, as you can see on the tip of my middle finger :)

I hope you like it :)

Have a nice day !

Hello !

Voici comment j'ai procédé:Here's how I proceeded:

A bientôt :)

Dexter Manicure

Hi dear readers !

Let me wish you a happy Halloween :D What do you do for that day ?
Here in belgium, we don't really celebrate it, except in some places where they organize a special Halloween event ... Some years ago when it started to be a trend here, children came to ask for a trick or a treat, but they are less year after year ...
I planned on making a special manicure for Halloween but it looks like my stamping skills are gone for today, so I'll show you something that's not really Halloween related but is a bit in today's mood :)

I'm not a big TV fan but there are some shows I really love and enjoy, and Dexter is one of them. I started to watch it two years ago, I saw all the seasons that were available and promised to myself that I'd make a "Dexter Blood Splatter Manicure" when the 6th season would be released. Well, it has been released in the beginning of the month, so here are my Dexter nails :)

For this easy manicure, I first made a classic white french (because my tips are a bit stained and I didn't want to show them like that) with an Essence Tip Painter and Catrice Rock Barock, a very sheer pink.
Then I created the blood splatters with a straw, using Eyeko Saucy Polish and this technique.
I finally added one coat of Seche Vite for the glossy touch. That's all :)

The pic above shows my right hand. When I do splatter manicures, I always prefer the result on the right hand, I can't explain it :p

That's all for today :)
Do you like that bloody look ?

What are your favorite TV shows ? Are you a Dexter fan as I am ? :D

Have a nice day, and a Happy Halloween :D

Quick post: Splatter Manicure

Hi dear readers :)

I hope your weekend is fine !
I have a very quick post for you today. I love splatter manicures since I discovered them and I made a few ones. This one turned out to be one of my faves, unfortunately I only got one good picture of it ><
For this one, I used my favourite white polish, China Glaze Snow, as a base. Then I applied the other colors with a straw :)
I used Ulta CelebutanteColor Club Gossip Column and another blue shade but I'm sorry I don't remember which one it was. My memory is so poor ! :p
I also added one coat of China Glaze Wireless but it was a bit too discreet.

That's all for today :) I know it's not a lot but I'm leaving right now for some shopping :p

Did you like that ?
Have you ever tried splatter manicure ? I'd like to see yours, feel free to leave a link in the comment section !
