33DC Day 12: A Pattern in Your Home

Hi dear readers !

Today's post will be a quick one, I need some rest after a week of training :)

So today's prompts was "a pattern in your home", and I didn't have to search a lot to know what I wanted to do !
I have a wallpaper in the stairs that looks totally like this, except the pattern isn't exactly the same. It's dark grey and has black and silver volutes, it was easy to achieve the look and the matte top coat made it look even more like the wallpaper lol :)

The base color  is Kiko 381, a beautiful dark grey with  hint of blue in it. I stamped the volute thing with black Konad polish and a plate I absolutely can't remember. I'll edit the post as soon as I find it ! I found it ! It was Konad m63 ;)
Then I applied one coat of China Glaze Matte Magic, and stamped again the same pattern with China Glaze Millenium.

I applied the matte top coat before the silver stampig because I wanted to keep the original foil finish of the polish :)

I hope you'll like it !

Have a nice day :)

Hello !

Porcelain Skittlette

Hi dear readers !

This is a scheduled post, I'm on holiday right now, and hopefully relaxing under the spanish sun ^^

Have you heard about skittlette manicures ? I discovered them last month on ChitChatNails and I really love that idea !
When in a lack of inspiration, it's simple to follow the skittlette "rules" and create a pretty manicure.

For my first one, I decided to go for some water decals ! Here's what I did.

On my thumb and index, I used P2 Heartbeat to match the pink of the flowers.
On my middle and ring fingers, I used two coats of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls and added the water decals.
On my pinky, I used two coats of A England Merlin.

Many people told me it looked like porcelain and I must say I agree with them, hence the title :)
I was really in love with this mani and didn't want to remove it haha :)

The water decals come from Emnail Stickers; if you live outside Europe, you'll easily find similar water decals on Born Pretty Store or Ebay.

I hope you like these ! Have you tried this technique ?

Have a nice day :)

Pink Mix'n'Match

Hi dear readers !

It's has been a while since my latest Mix'n'Match mani, but I still love that style a lot :)
This time I went for some soft pink shades and silver accents, and brought my favorite techniques together: stamping, gradient, tape and glitter (well glitter isn't a technique, but it's still one of my fave stuff when it comes to nail polish ;) ).

Here's what I did:
- Index: Sponge gradient with China Glaze Something Sweet and Essence Very Berry
- Middle: two coats of A-England Merlin
- Ring: two coats of Essence Very Berry, stamping made with Bundle Monster plate BM201 and China Glaze Millenium
- Pinky: one coat of China Glaze Millenium for the base, covered with striping tape and China Glaze Something Sweet
My thumb was simply painted with Essence Very Berry.

I had a lot of fun finding colors and doing the different designs !
It was my first use of A-England Merlin, I love that glitter polish a lot ! It's very dense so you can easily get a full coverage with it.

I hope you like it :)

Have a nice day !

Hello !

Holo Stars

Hi dear readers !

I have some bad news today :( It seems my camera just died. I have to go to the shop tomorrow to if the problem can be sold, but the warranty is over so I don't have a lot of hope.
If it's totally dead, I don't know when I'll be able to afford a new camera. I still have a few pics to show you, but it will only make 3 or 4 posts ^^'
I could show you my manis with my iPhone pics but they are really poor quality :/

Well, I hope it will be ok, I don't want to put the blog on hiatus for a technical problem ! Wait and see, please cross your fingers for my poor little camera ^^

On to today's nails !
I did a simple one last week when I didn't have much time for my nails :) I used only Kiko polishes, and one of my favorite Bundle Monster stamp :)

I used Kiko 381 for the base, except on my middle finger, and Kiko 400 for the stamping and accent nail. The stars were added with Bundle Monster plate BM20 :)

I love those holographic shades from Kiko ! They apply well, they work great for stamping and they are really gorgeous !

What about you, do you like it ?

Have a nice day :)

Hello !

Matte Flowers

Hi dear readers !

Today's manicure was inspired by a picture from Pinterest that leads to Coraline's blog, but I'm sorry I coudn't find the original post on her blog !
Anyway, she did a pretty combo of matte silver and black, and it was so pretty that I had to give it a try.

I started with two coats of Essence My Sparkling Acrobat and stamped with China Glaze Millenium, using Konad plate M73.
I topped the final result with one coat of China Glaze Matte Magic, and that's all :)

I love how the silver shines over the black base, even mattified it looks so bright !

Do you like it ?

Have a nice day :)

Hello !

Starry Night

Hi dear readers !

From our new garden, we can see the stars way better than before (at least when it's not cloudy outside). I love watching the stars, it has something relaxing and fascinating, and I always search for a shooting star :)

Maybe that's what inspired this manicure !

I used Kiko 335 for the base, Nailz Craze NC02 for the stars, stamped with China Glaze Millenium.
I already said that but Nailz Craze work so well ! I love them :)

Kiko 335 is such a wonderful shade ! To me it looks like a deep royal blue, but according to some other blogs, it's either Cobalt, Klein blue, Ink blue ... I'm totally lost with all those shades haha :D
It has a jelly finish and is a bit tricky to apply, leaving a few blanks, but it looked good after three coats.

I don't wear blue very often as I think most of the time they look weird on me (even if I like them) but I absolutely loved this one !
The good surprise was it didn't stain my nails ! Well, I must admit I used two thick coats of base, but sometimes even doing that doesn't help to avoif staining, so I was happy with that :)

Do you like it ? And well, what's that shade of blue according to you ? ;)

Have a nice day :)

Hello !

Bonne journée :)

Purple & Holo Gradient

Hi dear readers !

Here's a quick post with a beautiful gradient I did some days ago.
I hope you'll like it as much as I did :)

I used A England Princess Tears as the base, applied some of it and some of China Glaze Urban Night on a make up sponge and dabbed in on my nails. The purple wasn't strong enough so I waited for the nails to dry then sponged again :)

I especially love how the holo particles from Princess Tears seem to mix with Urban Night (which is a creme, if you don't know this polish) in this gradient. It almost looks like I used a third color in my manicure :)

I planned to stamp on this one, but changed my mind when I saw the final result. It doesn't need a stamping :)
I was inspired by this mani from The Nailasaurus :)

Do you like it ?

Have a nice day ^^

Hello !

Halloween Manicure

Hi dear readers !

Let me show you my very first Halloween themed manicure :)
Last year I did some bloody splatter nails but it was more related to Dexter than to Halloween for me ... As I already told last year, Halloween is totally unpopular here and it doesn't really help when it's time to get inspiration ... I think if I was born in the USA, I'd really enjoy this celebration, but here it doesn't mean a lot to me.

Anyway, I did a little something around the Halloween theme. Not a unique design as I saw it in other colors on a few blogs, but I needed to give it a try ... Even if I'm arachnophobic haha !

I used my to-go black as the base, Essence Black Out, I stamped the spiderwebs in white using Konad polish and Bundle Monster plate BM13, and finally the spiders were stamped in China Glaze Millenium, using the same plate.
I added some silver rhinestones on the spider's bodies and ended with a coat of Seche Vite.

That's all :)
I hope you like it ... Let me know :)

Have a nice day and a happy Halloween if you're celebrating it :)

Hello !

Pink Tape Manicure

Hi dear readers !

I absolutely loved to wear the mani I'll show you today ! I'm really excited to show it to you, and hope you'll appreciate it, too :)

However, it also frustrated me, I'll explain you why after the pics haha :D
I wanted some pink, as you all know October is the month for Breast Cancer Awareness. I also wanted some silver, as I already saw some great manis mixing pink and silver and they looked fab :)

Aren't these nails cute ?
Here's how I proceeded: I applied two coats of China Glaze Millenium over my base and one coat of Seche Vite because I couldn't wait for the polish to dry.
I taped triangle sections with striping tape and applied the three pinks in each section: China Glaze Something Sweet, OPI Sparrow Me The Drama and Essence Let Me In Pink. I love the combo of these 3 shades of pink with silver, my only regret is I didn't buy Sparrow me the Drama in full size haha :D

Now why it frustrated me ? I wanted to stamp all the central sections, I got this idea from a great manicure by The Nail Polish Project and wanted to copy her, but it simply didn't work for me. I used scotch tape, the thinnest I have, but I might have done something wrong :)

Anyway, the mani without stamping was still great in my opinion ^^

What about you, do you like it ?

Have a nice day :)
Version Française - Cliquez ici

Hello !

Essence A Lovely Secret, Stamped

Hi dear readers !

I'm so glad, to day I got my hands on the three polish from the Fruity TE I wanted. It was hard to find them, but they're mine now :D
Oh and right now I have a true beauty on my nails, Dandy Nails Wingless, but you'll have to wait a few time for me to post the pics ...

Today's polish is Essence A Lovely Secret, from their latest addition to the Colour & Go range.
A Lovely Secret is a very pretty periwinkle shade with pink and purple microglitters that give a grain aspect to the result, but the surface stays smooth. It's not really showing in my pics as I stamped directly over it, but you can check The Swatchaholic's pics to see what I'm talking about - you won't regret it !

I Stamped over A Lovely Secret with BM plate 210 and China Glaze Millenium. I still can't decide if I liked it or not, the whole thing looked too bright and too cold in my opinion. It wasn't bad but not one of my fave combos.

What do you think ?

Thanks for reading and commenting :)

Have a nice day !

Cloud Manicure

Hi dear readers :)

No stamping challenge today, as yesterday was April's Fool, the girls on Adventures in Stamping decided to do a non-stamping manicure ! I loved the idea, but as this is a scheduled post it's no fun to do something in advance :p
Anyway, I'll show you a non-stamping manicure I made a while ago ;)

You already know about my love for Jane and her manicures on Nailside. she does a great job, and she shares some secrets with her tutorials.
Lately I loved her Cloud manicures and decided to follow her explanations on how to make them. Well the most difficult part was to choose some colors. As I ust got P2 Night Out and wanted to try it, I started with it as the base.

Not too bad for a first try, rigth ? :)
I know they are not perfect, they look a bit square-y, but i'm still glad with them !

I used P2 Night Out as the base, China Glaze Millenium for the middle color, and the third color is a little mess ... I wanted to use a dark blue crackle but it ate the coat of Millenium, so I hid the damages with two coats of China Glaze Skyscraper.

I'll use this technique many more time, I love it and the possibilities are infinite ! Next time I'd like to add more contrast :)

What do you think ? Have your ever tried the cloud manicure ?

You can see the tutorial I used here: http://nailside.blogspot.com/2012/01/tutorial-freehand-cloud-design.html

Have a nice day :)

This is a scheduled post. I'll reply to your comments as soon as I come back :) Thank you !

Sunday Stamping Challenge: Ending with a 4 :)

Hi dear readers !

Sorry for the lack of posts since last week, I've been very tired and slept a lot this weekend !
But yesterday I didn't miss the Stamping Challenge on Facebook, this time we had to do anything as long as the plate(s) used are ending with a 4.

I chose to use a floral pattern from Bundle Monster plate BM224 in soft colors, and here's what I did:

It's simple, but I like it. The purple is a bit more red toned in real life but my cam still doesn't like purples :(
What's your advice ?

Here's what I used:
- Two coats of Catrice Lucky in Lilac
- A tiny bit of China Glaze Tinsel sponged randomly in spots, for the bling :)
- Plate BM224 and Konad Special Polish in white
- one coat of Seche Vite

Thanks for watching and commenting :)

Have a nice day ;)

Explosion Tape Manicure

Hi dear readers !

I have already told you about my love for Jane's adorable tape designs on her blog, Nailside. When I found nails stencils with those peaked shapes, I immediatly thought of her Explosion manicure.
I found those in German, the brand is called Smart Nail Art but I have no idea where you can find them outside Germany. Well, it's a basic kind of supply so I guess you should find something similar easily (or be a bit braver than me and cut stripes of tape with your scissors lol)

I used Catrice Glamourista, a red creme from an old collection (Glamourama - Winter 2010) as the base, waited for it to be dry, applied the stencils and then used one coat of OPI Spark de Triomphe.
To be honest, I didn't really want to make an accent nail, but I failed with the stencil on the ring finger and didn't want to start again with base coat and red on that finger. An accent nail wasn't too bad :p

I liked how this turned. I should really try to cut some tape and do this design again with other colors :)

What about you, do you love it ?

Be ready, the next post will be posted here on wednesday ... but it will be a guest post !
Guess who will write something here ? Stay tuned ;)

Have a nice day :)

China Glaze Flying Dragon & P2 Silver Crackle

Hi girls !

I have a question for you ! What do you do when you don't have a lot of time for your nails but want something more funny than a single color ?
There are a lot of possibilities, from skittle manicure to stickers and crackle polish ... Here's what I did some days ago when I really was in a hurry, and I think it was the fastest manicure I've ever did :p

First, I applied two coats of China Glaze Flying Dragon. Neons are known to dry very fast, so I was able to start the second coat immediatly after I ended the first one :)
I topped it with one coat of P2 Silver Crackle, which also dries fast, and finished with one coat of Seche Vite :)

I think I didn't spent more than 15 minutes for this manicure, including the drying time for the Seche Vite and the cuticle cleaning with a small brush.

And I loved that combo :)

I have a few neons, I'll surely use them for another similar manicure ^^

Do you like it ? What are your tips for a fast and not boring manicure ?

Have a nice day :)

Essence - Can't Cheat on Me

Hi sweeties !

Aaw, no post since last thursday, I'm so sorry :( I'm really really busy and I also take advantage of the good weather to work in the garden on weekend :)

Well, today I have an Essence polish from their new main range. It's called Can't Cheat on Me and it's a pretty silver with a very slight holographic effect, even more discreet than in Catrice Dirty Berry but still present.

I stamped some flowers from Konad s9 plate with a black special polish as I wanted some cuteness on this polish :) Some flowers didn't stamp well, my Konad skills are not at their best ... I should train more !

You can see some holo particles in the pic above ... It was difficult  to capture :) The gloss effect you can notice comes from a coat of Poshé top coat :)

The application was ok, the first coat seemed to be very sheer but the second coat fixed it. Of course it's not your big silver holo like Gosh Holographic or China Glaze OMG, but it's pretty if you like silver polish with a twist :)

I'm glad Essence finally started to make "real" holos instead of duochromes (even if their duochromes are very pretty, I'm tired to see they call them "Holo", lol)

The tip wear on the last pic came from second day of wear (with typing and dish washing), like every holo I've tried this one is a bit fragile ...

Do you like it ?
Have a nice day :)

Geometrical French

Hi dear readers !

It's time for another french manicure ! You know how much I love them, I wish I had a little more time to make more :)
This one was inspired by a friend who has her nails done with gel, and got this design. I really loved it and needed to give it a try ^^

I used China Glaze Tinsel, one of my favorite silver glitter polish <3
The black one is Essence Fatal and the white is a tip painter, from Essence too.

I'm really, really sorry for the cat  hair in those pics ... They stuck on my nails when I used a cuticle oil and I didn't see them until I saw the pics ><

How I did this design ?

First, I used a whitening base (Catrice).
I painted my tips with Tinsel from the tip to the nail bed, with a very small amount of polish on the brush. That make the gradient effect. I wouldn't use this technique with a plain polish, but with glitters it works well and takes less time than classic sponging.
Then I made the triangles; I started with the borders, drawn with a thin nail art brush, then I filled the spaces.
Finally, I drawed some lines with the white tip painter: first the triangle borders, and the middle lines to finish ...

That's all !
The most difficult thing is to draw straight lines with the thin brush. If you really can't make the triangle, you could use some tape to help you drawing them ! I think I'll make my next geometrical design with tape ;)

Thanks for watching and commenting ...

Have a nice day :D
