Wildlife Ride

Today was last day of school so we decided to hop on the quads and go for a ride... I was hoping for more pictures of bambi's and some moose calves... instead we got this!!   Here's a daddy Kildeer trying to lure us away, they pretend to be injured so you go to them.    Next is the mommy Kildeer on the nest (she had 3 eggs last week)

look closely and can you see the beak, the baby bird and 2 eggs!!!   so cool

Now below is a creek bed, the beavers have blocked it up again and barely any water is getting in.  We were walking around and checking it out... Guess what the Kildeer's will be eating!!    Yes, on all those little rocks are about 20 or more leeches attached - it's GROSS!!   we have never seen anything like it before - those are all different sized babies - the adults are about 1.5 to 2 inches long!!
