Juice

A part of 2nd Street west of the old, re-purposed Seaholm Electric Plant has been designated Electric Drive and has places to plug in electric vehicles as well as a solar-powered charging station for bikes and gadgets. See here.

Electric Drive

Austin has repurposed an old power plant (Seaholm) for restaurants and offices and built up the surrounding area with other businesses, condos, apartments, and stores. As part of this new district, they rechristened part of West Second as 'Electric Drive.' To emphasize this they added charging stations for electric cars. Jackie caught one being powered up.

Hot Rod

Every year in the Spring the club where I play tennis has a car show. I'm usually playing while they set up and snap a few pictures after my game. This truly looks like a hot rod with the flame paint job.

On one of our walks this car was parked on a downtown street.

This is the front of a vintage pickup owned by the Lambert's restaurant over on Second Street.

Fancy Hubcap Self Portrait

I was shooting the fancy hubcap but I liked the surrounding reflection including a not so flattering shot of the flabby photographer!

Perfect SpotThis

This handicapped spot on Guadalupe near campus seems tailor-made for this vintage car. An articulated bus on the express line is in the street.

On the Move

One day in December I saw this Edsel Station Wagon on a car carrier. At first I thought they were cars for a movie but the others were various other vintages so I decided they were just cars being moved. Maybe they load up a carrier in California and move cars here for the many who arrive every day to live in Texas.

In honor of F1 some Bugatis visited the Four Seasons. The Upscale Four Seasons Residences are reflected in this one.

F1 Brings Cars

Last weekend was F1 at the Circuit of Americas track. This F1 car was in the lobby of the Stephen F. Austin hotel!
